Considering gold inflation, the cost of changing talents should actually be increased. Nobody had 10k+ gold back in the day, and everyone does now.
Epic mounts should be 5000 gold. Respeccing should be 500g each time. That should counter inflation.

you dont even have to respec. premades aren't required to rank anymore, you dont need to be a heckin arms woyer. you can literally stay in your zugzug fury spec, put on a 2 hander (if you want) and do bgs to your hearts content. in wpvp it might be a different story but who gives a shit, you're probably losing your 1v1's anyway. just roll with a group

I played some of wow classic back in 2019-2020 and rolled a warrior but found the end game experience horrible

This time I am going to learn from past experience and roll a healer. Should I go paladin, priest or druid? Whats the end game like for these classes and do they hold up in TBC as well? My main priorities are healing (obviously) and being able to hold my ground in pvp.

Makes portals and lock summons even more valuable than before if people want you for impromptu dungeon or other bullshit.

I had a coach in my old guild who tried to help me and he mentioned that the biggest problem I had was not the rotation but movement, watching old clips I was constantly caught out of position and there was a lot of boss chasing going on. Figured if I play a ranged/non dps class I may do better.

Going full pvp spec won't make a difference to you gaining lowbies compared to running with a hybrid pve/pvp spec.
I ran a hybrid spec for my Hunter in 2019 classic and I was still topping charts (for my class tier) and killing everyone I came across in pvp.

yea it's decent but you'll be reliant on pvp gear. can't get t2 helmet without kiling onyxia, can't get ToEP without molten core, etc. you'll have to find people willing to take an ele shaman desperate for totems or heal. otherwise you are stuck with pvp gear that may have dead stats for you like attack power, agi and strength. the shaman pvp set is not itemized just for elemental.

and yes, elemental is the designated pvp spec with your guaranteed crit talent and batching it with earth shock for huge burst every 3 minutes.

Tabard from the scourge event, though that comes back at the end of TBC. Loot from Doom Lord Kazzak also goes away (since he becomes a lvl 70 boss). Oh and pvp titles.

same i've only been using it to find a guild/pug and then sticking to the mandatory sign up/checking assignments. i mute everyone except the raid lead and log out the moment the raid is finished.

I'm in a turbo casual guild on era and we have quite a few people that hit r14 just by going hard during AV bonus weekends or taking time off work and capping out in 3-4 days during a normal week. all you need to get a wand is about 3 stacks of linen cloth, which you should get pretty naturually if you do quests that have you up against humanoids in your starting zone. that will get you the level 5 wand which you can then replace with quest rewards going forward. Tailoring is also better to have on a fresh where the leveling bags are actually kind of nice to have, and you get a lot of great items while leveling like the azure silk set for mages, robe of power, and dreamweave set. Enchanting is kind of ass early, but being able to DE is nice at least. I'd consider dropping it and getting herb or something while leveling.

Unless you actively engage in wpvp and are often the first to engage, there's literally no reason to play on a pvp server.
If you're one of those players who are never the first to engage unless they attack you first, you might aswell just stick to pve servers and enable pvp.
The only fun part of being on a pvp server, is when you're high level & geared and come to the defense of low level players who are being ganked. Ganking gets old incredibly fast, but being the hero of some random town that's under attack will never stop being satisfying.

The only real downside of a pve server is that they generally have a lower population than pvp servers.
But this time the pve servers will have a steady income of HC rejects, and lots of HC players who will most likely transfer to the pve server once TBC launches

The warlock pets function differently, 90% of hunter pets function the same.
About half the hunter pet families are unfinished and flat out inferior to a bat or cat in almost all situations.
They didn't even bother to give tallstriders screech despite it screeching like a fucking banshee everytime you order it to attack something.
There is literally no reason to ever use a crab or crocolisk or spider or hyena at all though.

Prof stuff aside. Rogue with mining for BRD dark iron mining which is pretty fast. Hunter DM N and Mara farming and selling loot. Alchemy for SM Gy shroom farming etc., don't forget to farm winter squid seeing as when fresh will open..

How badly will I hate Undead Priest on PvP server for zero effort invites to group content on Blizzards Classic client? Plan is to go Shadow lvling until 58 then swap to deep Holy and try to snipe a toep/eye/kazzak pants for the R13 grind and fuck around as Shadow PvP unless the guild is actually fun to have conversations with and not turbo-retard parse sweats, that shit caused my first Classic guild to collapse before BWL. You said earlier warriors were exempt from the hybrid tax because they can't heal despite being the best class at both tanking and dealing damages, and yet, paladins have the pay said tax but I don't recall seeing any of them tanking in my raids or appearing on the damage meter.

Classic Fresh will be fun. Don't join a speedrunning guild and play whatever you like. Ranking will be mostly AV so you can grind to rank 14 without dealing with guilds or premades. You can do what you want in TBC afterwards, that's my plan at least.

Ranking is capped - 3 ranks per reset. Lower ranks require less honor. I believe for 0-3 you require 15K. For 3-6 it was something like 70K etc. The max honor you can get per week is uncapped but your progress is maxed out at 500K/week.

This is what you use to calculate how much honor you need and it will also show you the max progress you can get later ranks with each cutoff. You can get rank 14 just by spamming AV, everyone on Era got it like that. It's really comfy and you entirely skip the ranking mafias and premade discord bullshit.

No but in wrath I did my best to destroy one of the guilds on my server and did pretty well, they kicked me from their naxx group to invite a friend who was offline when they started not telling me I was just holding the spot for him, from then on anytime I saw them looking for more whether it was for dungeons or raids I would jump on an alt and do my best to join and wipe them, eventually got one of my alts in to the guild too and would spam their discord with petty arguments, they broke up a bit after naxx, I don't think it was fully on me of course but I know I cause them at least a bit of grief which eventually made them more irritable and likely to quit

rank 10-14 will take you 4 weeks of pretty hard grinding (realistically you only need to go go hard for 4 days per week in order to cap)

alternatively you can wait for AV weekends, cap out in a day or two and just wait a month for the next one

You can make sizable progress in later ranks with "just" 350K at some ranks that's even preferred. I got 0-14 for like 2 months in Era and I got 500K only once so make of that what you will.

The trinket's health regen effect tallies up all +healing you have on your items at the moment of activation, snapshots it then proceeds to heal you for 5 plus all the +healing. Warriors can wear all armour classes and use all weapons except wands, so they would equip the trinket, wear as much +healing as they could, activate the trinket then swap to another set. Thus with +1000 healing they'd get healed for 1005 hp every 5 seconds for a whole minute.

You can imagine what this does to a class that normally has almost no self-sufficiency and gets better the longer it can stay in combat

I'd rather they infuse more lore-relevant flavors of current ability trees for different races than just slap every class onto every race. Instead of one or two race-dependent abilities for priests, for example, you'd have things like all the disc/holy spells for night elves be lunar-oriented and have arcane/holy effects much like balance druids with nature. Trolls would have multiple sub-specs depicting multiple Loas with ritualistic casting/channeling that have longer casts but can mix and match smaller versions of common spells. Undead would lose all holy aspects entirely, but instead double down on shadow by giving them cheap downtuned heals at the expense of health from themselves or nearby allies/enemies.
Make race selection actually MATTER instead of getting a 3% gain in raid parsing or a niche situation in wpvp. But nah, let's just slap a bunch of retail talents/abilities onto runes and call it a day.
