I really don't see the problem with skill-based match making. You would never make a Rookie team play an MLB team (unless it's the White Sox), why would you put clueless randos into the same lobbies as pros instead of making them fight each other?

Crack theory time: the article Activison pushed out regarding their recent testing with SBMM had a little note that people glossed over. When they tightened up the matchmaking to ensure people matched closer to their skill brackets, the lower skilled and medium skilled players had a much better time. But the higher skilled players had a much worse time. My theory is that if they actually made casual SBMM more fair then they would lose a bunch of higher skilled players. Why? Because they would be forced into fair matches against equally high skilled players and actually have to play the game instead of pub stomping most of the time. I'm guessing Activision wants to "protect" their high skilled players as much as their low skilled players because both brackets probably have a bunch of playtime AND buy lots of mtx.

Part of the problem is that the game is a casual game that quickly falls apart and becomes infuriating when everybody is at a really high skill level. I also think they let it fluctuate so much precisely so people can grind camos and use shitty weapons like they claim to want.

Because older games in the series DID have some degree of skill-based matchmaking, it wasn't all pro gods dominating and calling in nukes every other match. But it was a much looser and more region-based matchmaking which made connecting to people better and also had more leeway in terms of skill levels so it wasn't a sweatfest 3/4 of the time, which has been the case since MW19.

No it wasn't. This is literary just cope from faggots who got their assholes punched in after every other conspiracy theyve spun about this shit for almost two decades now has gotten shot down over and over.

here's the simple fact. CoD is three times more popular today than it was seven years ago. More players more people that are better than you. More people that are the same skill level as you.

CoD is better understood today than it was 20 years ago. The average player is better at video games having litearlly grown up with them. And not just living across the bridge of 2d to 3d that Millennials and Gen X did. Zoomers that were literal children when CoD4 released and adults today have only experienced FPS games through CoD and its mechanics. Never mind the equipment being used in conjunction outclasses the default 360 controller by bounds.

You are just getting old and were never as good as you thought you were. That's all.

I think it should be loose because CoD is a casual shooter where people want to play with their friends and get killstreaks and where high MMR matches can be cancerous. That being said, I do think it's already somewhat loose. Like, I consistently end up with around a 2WL and KD in the recent games. I haven't played in a long while but I really doubt I could do that in games like CS or Valorant where the ranked MM is genuinely strict. Nor could I play with my friends (it likely wouldn't even let us queue together) and have matches where they can do alright.

The notion of no SBMM at all is retarded though. The top 15% of the playerbase shouldn't come into contact with the bottom half.

If you have recently done well you will vs people who have recently done well. If you have recently done bad you will vs people who have recently done bad. It has nothing to do with how good you ARE and everything with how good you DID. That is why stats in this game is a fucking joke and anyone who takes it seriously needs medication.

If I do 5 pure hipfire LMG spray matches in a row I will be able to sweat my ass off on the 6th game and almost guarantee a nuke. If I ever feel like my matches are becoming pure aids I shove my controller between my couch cushions so I walk around and shoot for a few matches then I'm back to having fun.

its because the good warzone audio youve grown accustomed to is from engine improvements made in MW2/3 era of warzone
meanwhile, treyarch has been working on integration of their own fork of the engine with a 4 year old warzone codebase
so none of the QOL improvements, bug fixes, tweaks, etc are in the new warzone because its quite literally a rolleback/downgrade to a shitty old version of the engine and codebase

When I had my hernia I was in surgery within 4 hours. It only took that long because for the first hour I thought I was casually dying because I was moving square bales too fast and tried to power through. Then the second hour I was in pure denial despite everyone yelling at me to go to the hospital. The last two were me on the way and in the hospital.
If you can't bend over due to pain and you're not in the hospital waiting for surgery you're either a liar or are HEAVILY projecting about me being a third worlder. Either way lmao

I just hate how their business men over tune every part of this game. I am leveling up so much slower than past games because some faggot in a suit gave a presentation with charts about how certain things need to be changed and slowed down to increase time played which in their eyes means higher chance you buy something. I never look at a flashy skin someone has and say "man I need to get that!" but instead look at the person in contempt for having no self control.

Zombies was the thing I was hoping for to see if I wanted to buy future games and it sucks and is also over tuned so as it stands I am not buying anymore of these games.

Every year it becomes more and more like a second job and I am just a cog in this SBMM world helping them sell skins. I hate the future.

Nah it's a real problem, knock a guys plates and then get a stream of fucking hitmarkers in resurgence when they start scooting around. Then someone starts on me and I'm dead in a split second. Actually reflecting on my games today It felt like I was on that other end of that whenever I started saying fuck it and just sliding around and doing acrobats around people. I think the omni-movement + WZ tick rate is severely fucked at least, probably in MP too but not quite as bad.

There's a short break in spawns every ~30-45 zombies since you still need to "finish the round" before the "next round" starts spawning, but yeah, it's just endless EZ-mode zombies.

Treyarch is definitely nerfing directed mode next week.
On a side note, don't progress past round cap 11 if you're getting Opal camos alongside Mystic Gold. Building the jet gun will progress you to round cap 12. I completed 3 rounds at round cap 12 and got only two mangler spawns. After that the next round cap is 15 where manglers don't spawn at all.
Also you should be able to fail the canister step for constant elite kills. Didn't test this but it should count for Nebula.

MTX still isn't supplementing initial sales figures. Despite MWII being shit it still took home a billion dollars up front within a month. That's not something MS or ATVI are just going to ignore. They know CoD can put up huge numbers when sold traditionally and if BO6's playergrowth is because of GamePass someone is going to start pitching the case that CoD is losing more money than it's gaining.
Also if your game can't put up solid initial sales numbers you are unlikely to get any in-game continuing support. Why invest more in a failed project? It's not a consequence that support on MWIII started falling off after Season 4 to the point Treyarc was able to just steal their maps

2nd run in directed mode. I actually prefer training on the bank rooftop because it's less mind numbing. You can get your mangler kill for the Opal camo right at the start. Make sure to keep all doors closed on the rooftop or spawns will slow down (zombies spawning in from liberty lanes).

The rooftop has been my go-to spot for most of the challenges because the small obstacles can be jumped on instead of mantled and slow the zombies down pretty well. I like how the update to zombies was specifically designed to make it more annoying to grind camos rather than more difficult to play or overall more fun, and following this pattern I'm sure directed mode will stop counting for challenges.

Keep Shift bound to the default Sprint/Focus option. Both sprinting and walking set to Toggle.
Sprint Assist at 0ms ensures you will always be standard sprinting when pressing WASD. Meaning you can instantly slide with C and dive with Ctrl (or the other way around).
Yes you will never "Run" anymore (the default movement state between "Walk" & "Sprint") so make sure all your gun builds have a lower Sprint to Fire value than the Aim Down Sight speed. It isn't that hard to accomplish anyway. It's usually the Tac Sprint to Fire speeds which are way higher than the ADS speeds. The Tac Sprint to Fire value is hidden even in the Advanced Stats but it's usually 80-100ms on top of the regular Sprint to Fire speed. Which is why you always Tac Sprint only when you're sure it's safe regardless of settings.
For Tac Sprint there is a behavior option in the Advanced Movement tab (I think) and you set that to Singe Tap Sprint. This ensures you will trigger Tac Sprint while sprinting with a single Shift press rather than double tapping Shift every time.
Now for the never "running" part this is why you want to set CpsLck to "Walk" and have that at the fastest speed. It's slightly slower than regular "running" but there is no other way of getting out of a sprint other than just being still. This can be useful if you want to run hipfire builds like shotguns, akimbo or you hear someone coming and want to camp it out. You should be able to press Shift once to regular sprint immediately, then press Shift again to Tac Sprint.

CoD plays this differently. They skirt right up to edge of the trade dress in a lot of cases or frankestien different parts of similar guns. (M4 is always to go to examples. There are at least seven different AR15s throw together to create the m4 in MWII and not get sued by Colt because a terrorist held it once). Part of playing that game is giving them names that don't have any real word connection. Just make up fictional gun companies and tie everything to those.

I'll spoonfeed you because I feel bad for retards sometimes.
Go to advanced movement settings, and make sure Walk is set to hold.
Set Walk speed to Fast.
Set a walk keybind.
Turn off "Maintain Sprint" in regular movement settings.

now, all you need to do it tap your "walk" keybind, and your character will instantly enter the default run with no hipfire or ads penalty until you initiate sprint or tac sprint again.

actually, it seems turning off sprint restore doesnt make a difference here. once you walk, it wont restore sprint.
sprint restore seems to apply more to stuff like ADS i guess.

I have the same issue but I usually strafe or move backwards to stop sprinting and line up the hipfire reticle, in this game though I'm stuck doing a little dance and can't shoot. I wish I could just toggle one setting to go back to normal movement

If you’re on MnK just know that the game is rigged against you, auto aim is insanely cranked to the point of it being indistinguishable from paid aimbots. Spamming smokes is the only way to combat this. If you are using a controller, yeah you just suck.

so I've been messing around with the sprint assist off and while it stops stuttering when trying to hip fire, it is so jarring to turn and slide to your left or right. it's like even though my gun is point up and my character has started the tac animation, I have to wait just that little bit longer or else he just crouches. this is the optimal setup for a gunfight, so it's worth getting used to the timing, but it's so annoying right now

Aim Assist isn't anywhere near as OP as people say. Spent like 120 dollars on an elite xbox controller thinking I was going to be able to aim lock people but even after 2 weeks and a few hours of youtube videos I'm still hitting em with the sprinkler aim. For gun skins Mastercraft means the gun's look stays the same even if you change major attachments like the barrel or stock.
Other than that, the rarities are basically just a measure of "how gaudy is the skin". Ultra being the gaudiest, then Legendary, then Epic, then whatever the blue and green rarities are called.

They haven't done that before and they have no real reason to start, discourse surrounding the games was bad in '19 and had gotten progressively worse until it slightly lightened up on MW3 for about half its lifespan before diving up its ass and shitting all over BO6. The game itself has a good core but is held back by the sheer volume of broken, buggy, or otherwise poorly implemented features, the worst netcode we've seen since Vanguard, and overall just baffling decisions in regards to balance. That's to say nothing about the matchmaking, but I feel like at this point talking about it worthless because it's literally never going away or getting toned down.

I seriously hope they clean up their act because I don't want this to be the last CoD I buy, but I won't subject myself to another launch like this especially given the next release is going to be by Shitfinity Ward.

I got it out of the care package. I got one kill and one hit marker, which I assume was because it hit under the window, before I got obliterated by the guy in the window and the guy in their spawn. For 950 it's the biggest score streak meme. Give me the archangel for 650 all day every day. That thing is a guaranteed 2 kills or 5+ if you're good with it and don't die after first launch. If it replaced your secondary and only have like 6 bullets it would be worth it but you die way too often to make any use of it.

The only thing the hand cannon will bring to the game is 1000 different videos with a mouth open thumbnail saying how great it is as they spend 15 minutes going WUZZZUP GUYS and smoking literal retards in bot lobbies.

Burn damage gets fucked by Flak Jacket right out the gate, which is made worse by the fact that Flak Jacket is an extremely good perk. It fucks your range, the DoT does fuck-all and at best might net you an afterlife medal, and generally is just spending an attachment slot to make your shotgun objectively worse at everything. It might have some niche use in HC, but in core game modes you're better off with a knife which requires no attachment slots.

This is true but I feel the mistake is releasing directed mode afterwards. The big reward like the ray gun or maya skin should be locked to standard mode and release along with directed mode so you can casually play through all the steps and then tackle the real challenge instead of looking up a tutorial. It’s neat that a bunch of autists have to click around things on a map and dig through files but it really always was completely inaccessible for 95% of players if internet guides weren’t a thing.
Who would possibly know to find the Nathan hard drive in a tentacle trap and that you need to shoot it with the wonder weapon. Why would the trap already being open indicate that you need to turn it on and shoot it. It only makes sense if you’ve already been conditioned to think about it like a fucking schizo with too much time on your hands
