yes it's extremely similar with it's characters and their emotions. it doesn't have a focus on lore or all the technobabel or complex timelines so it's a lot smoother to read and i like it better, but if you liked the lore you might not like it as much. The biggest difference is there is no hersher equivalent so it doesn't really have as strong themes of guilt

In all honesty it could've been worse.
Pic rel totally doesn't make sense for example, in Japanese she's talking about the kanji, because, you know, it's serious business what runes you're using for your names.
It's just a shitty thing to translate because of how exclusively japanese or chinese it is and the only choice is to act like the player will totally understand what kanji is and so on. Maybe this should've been the way to go, idk.

Characters are defined by their ult skill, SR"s don't have any so are dogshit even when fully limit broken.. The only exceptions are YunYun and Shiki since they get a completly cracked passive (+1 SP for the entire backrow) once you get enough copies. They still see some use in the JP version. Some event characters are also useable if you don't have a healer, blaster or support unit.

SR units are just here to provide skills for their SSR versions.

The JP version has a reroll system, after you finish the gacha you exit out to main menu and go to the settings to reroll there.
