I haven't played WoW since 2007/8 and hit level 70 in 16 hours on my feral Druid. Almost exclusively doing dungeons because of the tokens at the moment.
I like the feel of the gameplay, I honestly feel like the leveling experience is way too fast though. I haven't done the majority of dungeons still, certainly not outside of Dragonflight/Burning Crusade ones. I think another reason I stuck to dungeons was how overwhelming the world feels now; you get so many quests pop up dragging you in different directions and you level so fast its hard to know if you should continue. I know I need to do a heritage quest still and I can work towards some of the Cat forms. I didn't look into professions, its confusing at a glance when you have different trees for different expansions?
The Druid talent tree feels wasteful too, you have to take skills that don't help towards your melee build at all. I'm not sure if I should drop the cash on raising the level cap yet. I feel I'd just dungeon grind to 80 immediately so I might try out other classes. Monk looked cool.

I don't know if they forced you into dragonflight because of how long it has been since you played, but at least on your alts you should be able to pick an expansion of your choosing to level through by talking to chromie in stormwind/org.
Professions are dumb and the trees can look complicated but it basically just boils down to "spec into the thing you want to make." They kinda turned it into an autism simulator for spreadsheet nerds but you can get by with surface level knowledge if you just wanna make things for yourself.
Monk is badass but has suffered from a terminal case of "no devs play this class" so it bounces between godlike and unplayable on a whim from patch to patch.

Yes, I agree, the numerous quest popups are annoying and exhausting. I just ignore all of them and untrack them from my log.

Don't even worry about professions. You don't grind them from beginning to end anymore. The current expac has it's own "skill", like for example "Dragonflight Tailoring" has nothing at all to do with "War Within Tailoring". You can pick up the profession at 80 (If you buy the expac) and level it from there.

The druid tree likely feels wasteful because they somehow have to make the 4 different specs all use the same tree. Other trees likely aren't as bad.

For as bad as the Dracthyr models are, the customizations for them look natural to them. They just took those elements clearly designed for one race and pasted them on a human/elf, but made their features more pointed, smeared scales on them and apparently just decided to go see what sort of hair was popular in final fantasy at the time.

This is very true to a certain extent. One of the worst things about GW2 was the amount of cringe people making their character sparkle fairies with extremely bright colors and stacking glow effects.
WoW has gone the same way since they added a bunch of bright pastel hair colors like light blues, pinks, and greens and a bunch of 'meta' or 'fourth wall breaking' mogs or however you want to put it like the yeti and murloc pajamas and the sailor moon witch outfits etc.

Old Blizzard would've found a way to make Dracthyr dragon forms able to use xmog on the entire body.
Nu-Blizzard refused to do it for budget and time constraints.
That said, I still love Dracthyr... but god damn, alot of the people who make them are butt ugly and have awful color coordination.

I'm either playing too much wow or not enough. I just dreamt I was at a house with a bunch of wow-enjoyers at what looked like a LAN party as part of an initiation until a guild. I think I did well and wasn't awkward or anything. They had me sit on the floor at the coffee table in the middle so they could all see how I pumped so hard as enhancement while we were actually playing which was a very small time-compressed payi of the dream. I think it was the GM's house. His cat stole one of my slippers. Slippers are overrated anyway so I don't need that anymore. There was like 15 people there with PCs or laptops. We raided mythic.

What a fun dream. I normally never ever dream about the game. That's probably because when playing the brain goes into an alpha state which is like dreaming so to dream about playing the game is like a dream of a dream. There was very little actual gameplay in the dream, most of it was getting to know everyone. I was playing a combination of balance druid and enhancement so it made no sense. Everything else was coherent except the gameplay. It became a lucid dream when I drank from a glass of water which used to be my trigger for lucidity a long time ago back when I did lucid dreaming on purpose but then the dream very quickly lost coherency and I woke up, probably because I'm out of practice.

I did exactly this and it's actually amazing. Having Levitate with full air control is amazing (the way it should've always been for all priests) and you're so mobile you can easily keep up even with zoom zoom dh tanks plus you can now use all your shield and feather for mobility on others instead of having to hog it all just to be able to keep up. The knockback is great too. Overall an excellent combo.

My priest is a void elf for the teleport and nopushback on casting racial but the glide ability that dracthyr get is seriously making me consider swapping desu.

You can move at 140% speed all the time. First you make a /use Glide macro. Then you keep Levitate up and the way the game works you can either Levitate like normal, in a straight line, or change direction whenever you activate Glide. If you jump while Levitating then hit the Glide macro you perform a long-distance jump forward with full air control. If you double-jump without using the macro while Levitating you perform a very long distance jump without air control because the Glide cancels and Levitate takes over, which always stores your current speed and direction when activated and persists at that speed until you "land" again. You can also cast Glide while casting so you could be Penance'ing then, with Levitate, be performing long distance jumps while flying backwards/sideways while casting. It's really really fun. I've always been using Levitate to the max to maximize the speed buffs and this is just silly (jump combos to extend buffs past their expiration to squeeze a few extra yards with each cast). One unfortunate thing is that Glide speed bonus (+40%) does not stack additively with Body and Soul or Feather, only the highest buff counts. But even if you were using shield for b&s or all your feathers on yourself you will eventually run out after about 40 seconds of sprinting but with Glide you can move at 140% minimum forever with all of these tools combined.

Highly recommend but it does take getting used to if you've never priested like this before.

Yes. The game calculates your base speed with your gear first then adds 40% to that with Glide. I have 9% from gear and Glide/Levitate at 149%. Consumables that give speed also stack additively to this.

Pretty sure you can just blast through the whole thing in a day now if you really wanted to. There's a ton of catchup for renown just for completing quests so you probably won't have to fuck around doing weeklies.
I quit SL during S1, came back 2 weeks before DF and was able to blast renown 40->80 just by doing the Korthia campaign and half of the ZM campaign.

A Levitate/Glide double jump is about 25 yards lol it's not an insignificant distance. Like a mini priest Leap.

This probably also works with mage with Slow Fall and produces the same results since the extra height a character gains from Levitate does not count as extra altitude and the priest's bottom isn't where their model's feet begin but rather the spot under the empty space beneath the priest and side from the less visually impressive animation Slow Fall and Levitate are identical in functionality. They should both traverse the same distance.

Yeah ... I knew immediately when they allowed for this they're render all other priest races obsolete. I'm tempted to race change my 20 y/o nelf to drac because so far I'm just playing with this alt but it's seemingly worth losing the Shadowmeld pog racial. The added layer of complexity makes playing priest way more engaging and fun. Am I retarded or is fighting hybrid classes in pvp just impossible as an outlaw rogue? I'm dealing 100m damage to them throughout the fight and they're just constantly healing to full within 2 seconds, without even using spells with a cast time. Just instant heals over and over and over even with my wound poison fully stacked on them. Druids, paladins, shamans, just endless full heals.
I can't kill any of them. Is it known that they are impossibly overpowered and unfun to fight? Or am I missing something obvious?

It was made by a random C-team of interns. I guess they wanted an extra thing to keep progression-minded people busy for the rest of the season but those people already have Mythic NP and they don't need the gear from Heroic BRD. They should have done the opposite, drop disproportionately good gear to keep casuals playing and give another catchup mechanic for alts.
The 15 player limit is dogshit too. I guess it becomes unplayable when you cram 30 players into what was originally a 5-man dungeon but that should have been obvious before development even began. They should've picked one of the other Classic raids like MC or BWL.
I already got all the sets and pets so I have no reason to touch BRD for the rest of the season.
