>>501915969I definitely can see what you're saying. I think the current culture of roleplay is that everyone has to be the main character at all times and everything needs to be a grand spectacle. Yet exceedingly few have the writing talent for that.
>>501916073Cough cough partly why I'm thinking of migrating to Horde WRA cough cough...
I cannot *fucking* stand Stormwind MG anymore, dude.
>>501916274I used to go to Twitter and Tumblr to 'window shop' the crazies. Laughing from the outside looking in, so to speak. Now they've infested the hobby and there's no going back.
Y'know, this is how I know I don't "fit in" with normalfag RPers. I didn't get into RPing because it's popular or trendy. I got into it because I loved games like Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate 1&2, Fallout, etcetera etcetera.
I loved the legendary writing of those games and wanted to be a part of a world like it, and to make similar stories of my own.
But that's not what I got. Not what I got at all.
I'm not saying my roleplay is on the same par as a professional story writer or that I should expect RP to be like that. But RP feels like an AOL chatroom with a WoW coat of paint, and that sucks.
>>501916902I know who Mercer is and I know what Critical Role is, yeah. I definitely agree that it started this tumor of "no consequences ever" and I can see that everyday on SW.
Additionally I find that nobody can be realistic and believable in RP anymore because you'll upset some butthurt faggot. What I mean by that is, suppose you're a human farmer from Westfall. You probably would not like gnolls. But you can't actually say anything or oppose gnolls in your city because the gnolls would have a meltdown and "cancel" you.
Imagine you're a blood elf. You probably would not like Trolls much since all the Troll wars. Well now you have to deal with it sweety!
>>501916213It was never, ever about ERP. Stop larping and gaslighting, retard.
