My Rook had it hammered on his head how he's always willing to save lives over law and order and shit. So me going for Minrathous and letting the innocent people of Antiva die would make zero sense because who gives a fuck about Shadow Trannies or the Venatori ruling Tevinter? Rook is from Ferelden.
And if you're Crow Background you have even less of a reason to let Antiva burn because you know from experience there's no army or anything to stop the dragon and incompetent italian assassins won't be able to save anyone.

By this point, the Dark Ritual choice exists to show if the Warden is a selfish piece of shit who gave an evil witch an old god baby or sacrificed himself.

Bioware clearly had a precise vision in mind with the previous entries, and the players' choices were respected. Hell, even one of the least popular worldstates (Loghain being a Warden and having a child with Morrigan) was included.
