Humans look good in Paladin armor and Will To Survive is a top 3 racial in the game. Being able to use dual offensive trinkets is better than Fireblood/Defensive Trinket.

Dark Iron is second, Tauren is 3rd. At least for PvP.

I will set out on my long road to the south of Khaz Modan with the dawn.

To summarize: the green pvp gear you buy off the AH or craft yourself is very shit and you wouldn't be "competing" with it anyway
You will inevitably need to grind honor and bloody tokens for gear before moving up to conquest gear.

I tell him it's the same with everything else in the game, you have to play the game to get the gear to play the game to get the gear... and so on and so forth. Same as everyone else did.
I point out that I think a player who's crying about this is definitely awful at the game and all the BIS gear in the world wouldn't change that.

It's not like players just woke up and instantly had full conquest gear and were skillful players. I played the game to get gear and practiced PVP to get skill.

You're not likely to find a good answer for that since I don't think anyone here plays on a free trial / level 20.
The event has tons of cosmetics to get, bonuses for levelling, classic timewalking, revamped BRD raid, and a few other weekly things to knock out.
I'm not sure how much of that is accessible or what you could achieve as a free trial. I guess re-install and try it out?

I disabled details so no longer have a damage meter. I also turned off all boss mods. It all made me an even better player and lets me enjoy the game way more. Plus it increases performance because details is a pig for CPU cycles and wow is a one-legged pony.

Not really, tank is rather simple unless you get into the 10+ key range and frost is all about when to enter slot machine mode. Your damage is VERY frontloaded into syndragosa so you do have to know when to drop it and if it's suddenly your turn to do mechanics your dps is gone. No clue about UH though.

Course it doesn't, BFA didn't show a lot of its narrative particularly well.
In terms of their individual stories, it makes it look like the Alliance was in a better position during the first portions of the expansion, before the Battle of Dazar'alor. But like... look at the scale of things that happened.
Horde broke Talanji and Zul out of an Alliance prison. Alliance pursues. Gets immediately destroyed by the Zandalari fleet with only one surviving ship to report back. Alliance goes to Kul'Tiras for Fleet aid. They can't have it because one of their politicians is conspiring with Azshara, their fleet is hidden. Azshara's mostly just working to turn the Kul'Tiran populace against each other subtley, while a completely seperate threat in the Drust is fucking with things on the Western side of the continent. Ends with Kul'Tirans getting their fleet back after driving Ashvane out. Azshara still barely doing anything as she keeps playing her long game for the time being.
MEANWHILE, Zandalar was putting up civil unrest because they were ignoring what the most savage tribe of Trolls were doing. Zul directly uses Horde/Alliance wars coming to their lands as a distraction to seize power he'd been working for. Blood Trolls corrupting/killing their Loas, worshipping an (artificial) Old God, released its building sized minion sieged Zuldazar on a much larger scale than Pirates raiding Boralus. Ends with their Loa of Kings dying, the city devastated and G'huun in position to be set free, which the Zandalari and Horde in turn have to go throw attention and resources at to deal with.
And all that shit going on is what kept them distracted enough for Alliance operatives to come stealthily start sabotaging things in Zuldazar for the grand assault.

The scale of threats before they got back to the whole Alliance vs Horde thing was pretty damn uneven, but damn if they didn't try showcasing the Alliance having the real problems.

Recently started tanking 12s and the game really opened up. Started watching runs so I can plan my defensives the same way and learning what damage type each attack is (I knew the important tank busters, but now everything gets important). Started cooking up my own routes depending on where people have trouble or what my team comp is (like if we have a dragon, we can live some AoE pulls we might have issues with otherwise).

I am sure it gets harder and harder later, but most pugs are 625ish gear, so have to keep that in mind.
