You really need to just stop and think about this, it works the exact same way regardless of the rank. Hell your way is even worse because getting to 30 takes longer than 20.
Dismissing a bronze SR character gives you a bronze tag and an ungraded tag. A Bronze is worth 4 ungraded tags, so you get a value of 5.
You need to spend a lead grade (value of 2) and an ungraded tag (1) to get them to Bronze. So you need to spend 3 tags.
Alternatively, you can dismiss them at level 1 and get 2 ungraded tags, plus you still have those 3 ungraded tags that you didn't put into them to get them to bronze.
You end up with 5 tags of value either way, and can trade 4 of those ungraded tags for a bronze. This works the same way regardless of rank. Iron? Same deal.

I just realized how much better passives that reduces mp and sp costs are and should've prioritized characters with them.. I'm so tempted to swap out Emil because his passive is useless since he's the only elf in my party. He also fits my party role-play as the goody male priest that the rest of my party can rely on.

She sure wouldn't make a good one, considering her passive is all about knight skills. This is especially annoying because I've been levelling her up to be my backup knight for the time when I get a Fighter Lana book. Any week now, r-right?
If I buy the Thief book now, it would just be in anticipation for her Knight book showing up in the shop so I can level Thief to 35 or 40 or whatever and quickly change back. But spending 400 gems on something that might never happen?

I need to go now, but if you have time, this is the least resource-intensive method of gaining tags. This is how you have to do it if you have few characters.

Are Lana's and Alice's row damage bonuses really that good? Or can I ignore it if needed?
I plan to run 2 mages + Alice in the backrow. And Lana + MC + Thief in the frontrow.
But I don't really have any good or neutral thieves, and I only have 1 evil/neutral mage for the backrow (Adam).

You're completely missing that the "+2 gain" is just the value of the SR character itself with no tag investment my guy. The character is worth 2 with no grade raising, you spend 3 tags to get it up to bronze, then cash that in for 5 in the end. There's no "+2 gain", you break even.

Morning Anon here... I am gonna assume this is using a "SR character" (ie named adventurer)
Ungraded + Lead = 1 + 2 = 3
Cost of upgrade = 1 ungraded = 1
3 - 1 = 2
Normally dismissing a level 1 ungraded SR adventurer gives 2 ungraded tags = 2 points
2 = 2
Therefore there's no net gain there.

Upgrading from Lead to Bronze requires a Lead tag. This returns a Bronze and an Ungraded.
4 + 1 = 5
Cost of upgrade thus far: Ungraded + Lead, 1 + 2 = 3
5 - 3 = 2
Naked SR is still 2 pt. with 2 ungraded.

I don't see the gain here, anon. Is my math wrong?

entire team at 30. My MC has 175 def and those hobs hit him for 225 with a normal attack. Managed to clear last wave on my second attempt thanks to the archer focusing on the frontline that time instead of raping my mage

I always found MiHoMo's Jewishness to be somewhat overblown compared to what came before it.

While the HoYoJews are indeed Jews, they have nothing on the OG Japanese Gachapon Yakuza. These ganstas will charge $100 for 20 rolls of PNGs with no safety net or guarantee, provide dogshit support to the global English speaking community, and actively work on speedrunning EoS through anti-consumer decision making that only milks whales for all they're worth before sunsetting and repeating the formula all over again with a different IP.

This is why the Japs typically don't do original IPs. They have this down to a science and are able to extract maximum value with the least amount of effort expended while refusing to iterete based off customer feedback.

Hopefully this game fares differently, but given preliminary impressions on end-game systems and monetization politics I would I hold my breath.

Savor the risk for the time being.

I completely ignored that entire meta and am doing fine with old characters but I could have gone in on it if I wanted to. Anyway, the issue is you have the freedom to save up and do that in chink gachas, whereas Wiz is going to end up extremely restrictive and they may even make it worse by gating the new classes behind it

I don't know about SRs. But SSR were famous in the past. We can just go and learn more about their past, or how locals remember them. We literally have kingdom rulers as SSR, surely people remember them. Or just turn their character stories that you unlock with friendship into quest. But it's also a 1-star no grade item.
Furthermore, the moment you reach Port Town you can get Steel Weapons. And getting a 2-3 star green/blue weapon doesn't take long.
Except for the case when you use the Hammer because you've beat the tutorial but haven't saved the king yet so no steel weapons, why isn't the weapon garbage? Explain so I can understand.

The idea is that you turn in your already existing leadtag that then gets upgraded to represent your new rank, thats how they explain it in the dialogue and its why you have to show at least one leadtag to the guild lady when taking the quest for the first time. If you have none she tells you you cant take the quest

If you don't get a particularly good blessing(s) or a purple version, then the hammer ought to remain better even so.
At least for +5. Which makes it a significantly cheaper investment. Like you can take the basic bitch undead bane gear and max upgrade it to +20 and it'll be better than steel weapons. But then you've also burnt tons of fucking resources.
Alternatively you can upgrade the hammer to +5 and have a real solid hammer.

1. Alteration stones are weaker than the initial blessings they were extracted from.
2. You need to actually extract high grade blessings if you want said alteration stones to not be garbage. And you even need to extract enhanced high grade blessings if you want said blessing to actually be strong.
3. The success rate for extracting is fucking garbage. So you'll need like twenty high grade weapons to reliably get some strong alteration stones

A steel weapon with a mediocre blessing won't be saved through alteration stones. Not to the degree that it all of a sudden makes for a better hammer.
And you can actually use alteration stones on event gear too. So at that point you might as well just do that.

So yeah. If you actually get a high grade purple weapon. Invest in it. It'll be better for sure.
But if you get anything less than that? No it won't be better.

6th district is pretty easy if you just avoid most of the fights up to the fountain, clear the way to the boss and the water statue, go back and use the fountain, and maybe bring some scrolls along with potions when the water goes up on the 3rd turn. I did it first try without scrolls

No reason to be there unless a quest sends you there; loot is trash, exp is nothing to write home about. Try to avoid the hydras if you still do, they will critical poison you ( they appear as the slime siluette). At the end of the third map a knight tells you to fuck off too so it's a work in progress.

You can farm B7 normally just don't go past the second poison path
It's after that point that you'll confront him

After doing the the mimic quest you'll talk to him and meet him outside the dungeon
It's there that he'll get the sachet
So do this before going traversing the second poison path at B7

Yeah, there's a couple.
Undead bane, bring scrolls, save mana on mages (Preferably Adam/Yeka) so you can nuke crowds when they spawn, minimize spending MP/SP on the way by avoiding fights, etc.

You won't get them until way way later.
Just make sure to reach the boss without fighting any mob and have Scrolls of Fireball on your priest and mage so they can keep doing damage when they run out of mana.

You should look into levelling up a second mage instead of a thief there, running two of them is an easy way to win the fight. There are plenty of times you'll want to run double mage anyway so it's no a waste or anything

Alright guys it's been a good run, but I've been stuck on this faggot ore boss for an hour. Bought a bunch of gravel scrolls but it's still pure RNG whether it one shots me when underwater (which is impossible to prevent for some reason). Gonna uninstall for a few months until the devs fix the difficulty and make it not so p2w.

I expected the cave of malice to drop junk, but it doesn't and now I'm getting frustrated with how useless these undead weapons I've upgraded are. Earth den junk drops are way too low too. I cruised through the waterway because I spent hours farming Den of Earth to equip my frontline + thief. That boss didn't last long vs my Greatsword of the soil lvl 2 powerattacks to the face. Just gotta get those priest+mage buffs and debuffs out before he floods the place.

Yeah that's my problem with it. It's just a DPS race and pure in phase 2 he doesn't just instagib anyone who isn't defending. My entire party is just at level 30 so maybe I'll reinstall and log back in once a week just to pick up the tags and make it easier iunno.

A. Is this a mistranslation of the description?
B. It does say it gains more turns with higher levels. Did you somehow do this?

If Line Cover really does last longer than the turn it's cast, then that sort of Defend strat makes a lot of sense, but purely from reading skill descriptions, Line Cover says 1 turn while basic Cover says 2 turns.

It sucks for resources but it's fun seeing people bricking themselves and bricking myself

Not impossible that the meta will be to put bonus points of characters that have access to Priest into PIE given that it has multiple skills that makes it scale other stats like ATK and DEF. With those two skills PIE is probably the best stat for the bonuses points for Knight for example since it would increase its self healing, ATK and DEF at the same time.

Take it slow, farm gear and exp and don't rush ahead if you're low on resources. Learn what all of your abilities do and when to use them (buffs and debuffs are very important). I mean, it's pretty generous compared to dungeon crawlers of old. Aside from the odd ambush with instant kills one shotting someone most things really are pretty fair. And even that isn't as bad as a lot of the genre since permadeath is mostly just a retard check here rather than something you actually have to worry about.

Like others have said, try to keep one slept while you deal with the other, also try to stun the awake one with your knight, or the other one if sleep fails. When not healing, get your buffs up and use your mage for more debuffs to reduce incoming damage.
Getting double breath'd on the same row will probably mean you losing the fight, so do everything you can to prevent that.

I think the first person battle perspective goes a very long way for the immersion. Seeing shit from your own point of view while your party members do their bits is probably a large part of it. Arguably the relatively low amount of party member characterization helps too, it's similar to kancolle where characters have just enough to create a baseline for you to project your own interpretation on.

nikke is good but over time you will just care about numbers since buliding up characters is extremely easy and theres no initial risk of actually committing into your selected units in the early game

The Etrian Odyssey is often recommended. My personal favorites are III and IV.

As far as Wizardry itself, the Cosmic Force trilogy (6-8) are good but get ready to have your cheeks clapped.

Beginning abyss goblin mobs giving me around 1K exp on my arena/lv35 party... how is level scaling working here... it's pretty stupid how these mobs get scaled up in stats a bit, and they give almost as much exp as much stronger mobs in the port town.
