I think Terry has the weakest corner pressure in the game
Pretty much everyone can threaten with walk up plus frame button, or can shimmy freely
Terry has to commit to a dash, and without a plus frame button to back it up and enforce his turn
His only option for plus frames is the most parryable special move in the game also

Currently, having to commit to a dash for his throw loop is a big deal. Yes I know you can walk up and get it but it's significantly harder than other characters.
Not having a throw loop that doubles as a shimmy in Throw Loops: The Game is a major flaw
There's also his lane switch TC, no idea what the fuck they were smoking with that
As well as that, he has no heavy whiff punish buttons. When you've got Punk saying that his stHK isn't good enough to work as a tool in neutral the way other characters have, you've got a problem.

I said I wouldn't post replays anymore but this one bothered me so much I had to post, it's more of a specific question than a broad give me advice type replay though: can someone tell me what the fuck I do about ex hazanshu? I feel it completely invalidates Guile as a character

As Ryu, I try not to walk backwards. The zoning matchup hinges a lot on acquiring space in order to gain corner advantage and fuel the space that's needed to establish a fireball trap. If you feel that you need to walk backwards to give yourself breathing room for your fireballs, you can opt for using normals instead, especially Guile's command normals.

Speaking of normals, there's a lot of opportunities to "steal turns" after poking. For example, even though Guile's cr.mk is -5, you can still press another button afterwards if you see the opponent continuing to block due to being cautious of cr.mk's space trap effect. Also, my s.mk whiffed after blocking your s.hk: this is a good space trap to capitalize on.

At close ranges, whenever you see a fireball, always buffer DR behind your parries. If you land a perfect parry by chance, DR will come out which you can cancel into jab or something to change the momentum.

The current patch is a typical late lifespan ASW kusoge patch but overall the game is still fun and it's best "feeling" fighting game to play on the market by a large margin. But if you dislike things like drive rush in SF6 you'll want to kill yourself after 1 evening of playing Strive. Also the online infrastucture is really bad.

That's not remotely true. You have either never played Manon, or idk wtf you're on. Command throw is fake. It can be jabbed out of or even jumped I think, if you do cmnd grab.

I think it is a a true strike THROW mix, not command throw. And you can technically jab into command throw, but you can do that anytime anyways.

Also it's not MP HP, it's HP HP. Unless you're talking about MP MK, which is actually useless. And never used

That doesn't even make sense. Heavy command grab has 5f startup exactly like regular throw. You have to jump it, you can't mash.

And the MP target combo is not useless. It has an extended confirm window into the TC, single-hit confirming it is actually feasible at 18f. This target combo isn't hard to hitconfirm, it isn't hard to space. Based on this clip there is literally zero reason why this shouldn't or can't be spammed literally every single Manon game for free wins. And yet, I think I have seen idom do this target combo ONCE in all his tournament matches and I'm almost certain it was an accident because he got punished for it.
I never see any high level Manons use this move nor do I see them combo it into command grab. The one that's used more often is the HP HP one.
Sure I haven't played the game in a while, but in my memory one of the first things you learn climbing with Manon is how useless or contextual 90% of her moves are, especially this one.
I'm not booting up the game again to answer this retarded shitpost but if a 1500+ MR Manon can explain this I'll take back what I said.

Makes no sense. The bottom point doesn't explain why I still never see the move even with 5 medals. And for the top point. If my point that one can mash right after being "drawn in" is wrong, then there presumably should be no gap whatsoever, and it's just a free command grab assuming they hit confirm, since the only reasonable way I can imagine this being balanced based on the webm is that it's super unsafe on block.
