Am i the only one who is not mad about PoE delays at all?

The reddit is full of memes and criticism about the delays of both PoE 1 and 2. I dont understand, are you guys really that impatient about new content? Im saying that if you want to play a good game and not a buggy mess then you need to be patient. So many game studios fumbled entire franchises just because their overlords did not give them the time they needed. Cyberpunk, No Mans Sky and many other games that wouldve been really great from the start l, but turned out to be released as absolute memes because they were not done. I thought that as gamers we are past this entire cycle. Especially when it comes to criticising and shaming the developer for making such hard decisions. Im kind of disappointed in our communoty right now. LET THEM COOK!

There aren't going to be new PoE2 players.
The early access is only available to PoE whales.
Once Early access is out, normal gamers will see it's not the game for them and ignore it.
When release finally rolls around in 2026 they'll have long forgotten about it and not care.

IF you or GGG are seriously expecting millions of people to show up to PoE2 as if it's some cultural moment like Elden Ring or something, you have your head in the sand. The early access will struggle to even get the peak poe player numbers as again, it's paid entry, with MTX.

Full release will get maybe 500k people across all platforms and then never return to even half that number again

There are swords in the game some anon posted a screen of one but you can't use them, there is a section for swords in the skills panel at least. IDK why GGG hasn't shown them. Swords should've been the first thing they worked on.
I'm more concerned that Claws seem to be deleted from the game entirely.
I was genuinely hoping for punching/claw type melee combat to be really good and if it's just gone, then wtf.

I keep seeing this fat jonathan faggot bringing this soulslike shit up, but everytime I actually see the combat I see nothing of it. Is he just saying that literally because of the dodge roll thing?
When I think of souls I think of how all the weapons feel very different to each other you can get like 5 different swords but they all act differently like one of them has a different thrusting attack or has some inbuilt skill or different combos or whatever.
At least with all the mace warrior gameplay all I see is the same animation over and over same as poe1, they haven't shown like mace hit combo attacks or anything it' just leap slam over and over stuff.
I just fucking wanna see swords and daggers and shit.

What was the fucking point? Why couldn't they have made it instead Witch + Sorceror, Templar and Druid (druid being female) etc etc and done it that way? They had the perfect opportunity to make gender flips and didn't do it.
They could've had Monk be male and Shadow be female for a twist and I could play as a sexy knifey goth slut assassin.
That would be me asking for the lowest hanging fruit that still wouldn't let me have white male str thor character with mjolner.

Legitimately there's no way having a CC wouldn't have just made net more people happy, so many games sell just on having a CC alone.

Yes they do. Shit artists can't make good art within the parameters of the tech. PoE art has always been terrible for what it should look like. It's the most quintessentially ugly art non cohesive game I can think of and is skin to Second life tier shit where there's weird gross mixes of high res things and low res things and low poly blocky things and smooth things.

Fact remains they charge hundreds of dollars for shitty singular armourset when whole 60 dollar games come with hundreds of armours. The amount of money they bring on in terms of MTX and how little they spend on the actual game is super apparent to anyone.

GGG needs to pivot away from league slop and work on legit end of year expansion each year.
If I was Jonathan this would be my roadmap

Release PoE2
End of first year, release expansion that adds a chapter of a whole separate story/campaign to the main one
Each subsequent year release the next chapter, and each of these expansions cooincides with the addition of a new item class to the game

>Add Lances/Pikes
>Add Scythes
>Add Tonfas/Fist weapons
>Add whips
>Add weirdo weapons like Chakrams etc

It'd be way more hype each year knowing that PoE is getting some giga lord of destruction like content. Thats the one thing going for D4 is it feels like teh content that is coming is actually pretty meaningful

Nobody care about the characters, the lore, the stories, the places. Whereas we play Diablo because we want to experience stories and adventures, we want to visit places, we want to know what's going to happen to the characters.

That's why an expansion for PoE is retarded. Mini events (leagues) are more appropriate, no talk, just one or two new bosses.

There would need to be a minimum range or automatic far shot or something to actually balance out ranged so that there's a penalty for using it in melee.

PoE has always had this.
If you kill certain enemies from Act 1-3 or deal certain conditional things like crits your character will comment on it.
Only reason it seems weird to you is because they stopped adding player babble for monsters beyond Act 3, so like 90% of the time your character never speaks, but then you kill a rare Act 1-3 mob in maps and they say something smug.

because what happens is people have fun in turmoil/mayhem leagues and then the new league comes out and it looks boring in comparison so they quit earlier than usual or skip it entirely
riot did a study on this a while back with lol and it showed the same results. after they added some sort of fun mode, it resulted in less people playing the normal mode after the fun toy was taken away
so we only have ourselves to blame for having too much fun

It should be lumbering and slow with big meaty slams and swings, it looks perfect to me and is exactly what people want from the archetype.
Staff gameplay is significantly faster than Maces with loads of inbuilt movement and momentum, we haven't even seen sword, daggers or flails yet either which should all play completely different from each other.

im torn between all classes atm

1.witch finally makes minions fun with interactions and range attacks being minion focused

2. sorc because thats the wife and you can move whilst doing spells

3. huntress because of lightning fury and its a mix of ranged/melee

4. merc because guns

5. druid is basically a furry

6. warrior finally got hard hitting melee i kind wish you could move whilst hitting like the ranged attacks but i think they would be kinda clunky to implement

7. monk is just fucking kung fu panda

8. ranger actually comboing skills with a bow is a interesting premise need to wait and see for myself this is the only class im a bit worried about since merc exists

obviously missed out a few classes like shadow, templar and the sword class forgot the name no wonder time feels slow we want this out now

btw i hope these supporter packs are grounded in their cosmetics i want some good shit for poe2

Given the nature of the game I assume it will be possible to dodge the majority of attacks, which makes me think that if you play skilled you'll be able to zoom through maps on your Rhoa and kite everything without getting hit.

I think I spend about a mirror on it (maybe a bit more) and it can do literally everything. I can run deli/wisped/titanic/pandemonium t17s and I don't use OS. For clear, I replace MSotZ and void manip for LS of arcing and cruelty support and it rivals my DE in clearspeed (even for juiced content).

I have no money, no gear, but a couple of characters (68 slayer, 85 necro, 80 deadeye). What can I do to actually have fun while I wait for PoE 2 or the next league? This league? Not much.
Previously a few level 100 characters, cleared pinnacle bosses using meta builds. Slightly above average perhaps?
On my necro I have a very basic BAMA build going, which could probably be used to farm some basic stuff.
The Atlas is basically untouched. Haven't done much with Farmville either.

Being able to six-link every skill adds a huge possibility-space that eclipses everything you mentioned. The decision making is far simpler because it comes down to what weapon type you want to use/what skill you want to use. This is gamefeel choice, not complexity. All of this streamlining is good by the way, none of it is inherently to do with consoles nor does it benefit console players in any way. The only thing that you could say is related to that is the wasd implementation being a very good mapping onto a controlller but this benefits PC players if they want to use a controller.

The mod pool as-is has a ton of redundancy. Removing redundancy isn’t removing complexity. The phrase I used was “significant complexity”.

Removing life from the tree also will make anyone’s engagement with it twice as complex.

Bow is cheap at least. Can make an easy recombinator bow for a handful of divines currently. Just stitch together t1 prefixes on a bone/ivory/spine bone and there you go. That poe2 act 2 footage posted earlier has completely soured me.
Melee looks absolutely unfun awfulness even more than poe1. Why does every animation start with a long arse hold my weapon in the air part before swinging, but then no actual impact weight? The instant the attack completes its arc it bounces back up like it hit rubber trampoline or weighs like styrofoam. The big dust explosion and sound effects are cool but they are fake weightless shit in terms of overall feedback masking the awful actual animations.

It's like complete opposite of monhun or souls where in that game your attacks come out fast with immediate response than this but once it hits is where it's slow and you've committed and there's all this follow through, your character needs to lift their weapon from the ground and makes the.impact and weapon feel proper heavy. GGG have the animation lag/downtime in the completely wrong ass spot. It should be the END of your attack that has wait time, not the fucking start.

Idk it just looks spazzy and janky to me, not at all what I was expecting. I hope daggers and axes etc are better than this. It's like poe1 melee animations but with weird ground foot sliding and even more clunky windup. Just look at how stupid Sunder looks. You do this dumb as fuck marvel jump and the second you land/hit it's just BOING back upright. Delete the fucking aids slow as shit windup and put the weight at the end. It's better for my attack to come out when I pressed the button and then wait for next input than button press nothing happening when I needed it.

Almost convinced seeing.this.footage they've never actually played another game with good melee.

Isometric games are meant for ranged. Stop complaining about a playstyle that isn't congruent with the genre/format.
The goal is to from a top down view always be attacking ad they enter your screen, unlike other games you have advantage of view perpsective so of course shooting lightning at it will always be the best thing to do.

Just be glad they're even giving you melee we all know no one's going to be playing it once the dust settles. If you want to farm currency and respect your time you pick the class that is closest to a shotgun you can.

Playing melee where your forced to trade isn't fun. Melee attacks should be responsive, close distance and deal largest damage possible compared to safe kiting of bows.

If GGG is seriously doing this shit to melee I'll quit for good, only reason I've stuck with poe thus long is they promised like 5 years ago the melee fix is coming wait for poe2. If this is what poe2 melee is no fucking thanks.

The melee in this game might actually be slower AND more weightless despite that than the first dark souls game. Literally how do you fuck that up.

ssf forces you to craft items but contrary to popular belief it is not the best way of learning how to craft. the best way of learning to craft is research (poedb, craftofexile, guides) and practice. crafting in trade has the opportunity cost of currency, ssf has the opportunity cost of time (and resources). if you want in game crafting experience trying to learn in trade makes much more sense. crafting good gear right now in ssf is largely an exercise of farming thousands of alt. doing more interesting crafts than that is just painful, I hope you enjoy farming 20x awakeners orbs, getting 1 fracture attempt a week and running out of eldritch currency constantly

Absolutely zero planning or consideration was made. If you knew you were going to focus on poe2 you'd have prepared a more substantial set of content in advance, or some league that is tied to poe2 content like a new mechanic that exists in both so the whole community feels like they're co experiencing.

Extremely Low change to die to Eater if you know what you're doing.
Relatively high chance to die to Exarch, due to the random sequence of the ball phase and potential to pick up the fire vuln debuff

Only difference between the "Story" and Fragment version is a 10% increase on HP and DMG.

If you really want to be safe you can roll some +2% max fire rez jewels, if you can reach 80%+ it will allow you to face tank a few panic balls.

Don't mind me, I'm just being thankful GGG is an admirable company that is developing a GAME and not a PRODUCT
So I've recently started playing MTG arena (an online version of Magic: The Gathering) and have been absolutely appaled how WOTC are basically milking both the people that are playing it and the IP itself.
Between the outrageous economy, predatory microtransactions, political propaganda, they have made the annoucement that just next year, half of the sets will be from other IPs, including Final Fantasy, Spiderman (?) and Spongebob Squarepants (???).
Like, if I want to play Spiderman, I will play Snap? I don't want to play my Aclazotz, a bat god and next thing I know the opponent drops a Homer Simpson in response.
Even though I have only been playing for a bit over a month, I just quit, not worth my time or money.
I guess what I'm saying is - please don't change GGG. You have the communities best interest in your heart and it shows, I will support you as long as you hold up to these standards, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'm playing through Grim Dawn Diablo 2 conversion mod, it has SOVL desu. They have all the sounds and voicelines from D2. They added act 6 which is a time travel event back Tristram to go through Diablo 1. It also has all the original sounds in it.
Playing through as a lightning mace and shield paladin but will make a Chaos Axe Barb next.
The reason I'm playing it is that GD doesn't really require the autism but still scratches the "make your own build" itch.

I don't think it affects double corruption chance at all.
Maybe you can't get it at on very low level temples, but I doubt level 80 is different from 83.
The believe the primary difference is that you can't get the best items from the boss. Also you that you can't get high ilvl bases.

You have access to literally the whole game without spending a cent. And the currency (primogems) that allows you to roll for your characters is freely available in the game in the form of rewards for literally everything in the game (you can find them by exploring, fighting, doing the main quests, side quests, events, cooking, achievements, etc.) in ample quantity, and especially if you're new to the game, you've got tens of thousands of primogems waiting for you with all the content now in the game.

It's no coincidence that there are 80+ million players and that the community is one of the most active in history, with billions of forums, fanart, fun art (memes), music and porn, because the game is really deep, with hundreds of hours of quests, exploration, lore, reading and gameplay.

I know it sounds like an ad, but it's so rare to come across a game of this quality in this day and age, and it's fucking free
