I wasn't even talking about the leveling. At level 80 in a new expansion you feel incredibly weak, even when fighting monsters at the same level as you were before. You're just weak for the sake of making you weak. I've been playing this game for 20 years and I remember Vanilla mobs being a real threat. With gear you suddenly felt stronger and you could even kill elites. I know! Unheard of! These days it's all just a ploy to keep you in the rat race.

Gearing is easy as you can get 600+ in a few hours after dinging 80 from the Renown vendors, delves and LFR. A low ilvl means you're lazy or entitled.
The very least you could do is time lower keys and show me that you've at least done that.
If not? I'll simply decline and pick one of the 150 other applicants.

We'd been joking about it for a while in guild chat, throwing out raid strats and banter over who could top the damage meters. All of us were Paladins, and all of us – for some inexplicable reason – were drawn to the most “noble” spec: Retribution. There we were, four guys in their 30s, talking about Judgement spells, crit percentages, and rotation timing, all while lounging around in a club we’d only heard about in whispers. And our wives? They were upstairs, already off having their own fun in the private rooms. Meanwhile, we ordered a round of beers and joked about our biggest raid fails, bad pug groups, and the time each of us had almost sworn off the game after a particularly brutal wipe.

It was hilarious to find the same camaraderie in person as we’d had online. Our common bond, this niche within a niche – the Ret Paladin – had somehow brought us all here, far beyond Azeroth. And in a way, while our wives were upstairs exploring freedom on their terms, we were doing the same downstairs, leveling up in our own little raid group, bound by both the game and an unexpected friendship.

We need more towns and counties in the world to do stuff in (Suramar, Tiragarde and Nerubland being good examples) no to separate into instance hidey holes. TWW made both tanking and healing harder than it was in DF by nerfing them both, and DPS players usually have such an inflated ego that they can't possibly reflect on their own mistakes and shortcomings, so the blame usually goes towards the former two roles, which in turn makes pug players very reluctant to fill those roles because of the responsibility

Which tanks are fun this season? My main is Havoc but I don't like Vengeance. In DF I played Guardian to 3k but the hero talents for it are shite and both promote a boring "spam Ironfur until 15 stacks" playstyle.

the unavoidable damage is somewhat solved by dps using defensive cooldowns/self healing/potions, but low rio pug players don't do this and just delegate the responsibility to the healer, making it feel bad to heal keys with these players
for tanks survivability it's mostly a skill issue - you can tank a lot of stupid shit if you use your cooldowns and self heals correctly - but if you don't, yeah you can just fall flat on your face
