>>500395570You can go watch unedited Warrior gameplay on youtube right now.
Default Attack = 2x anims repeated.
Sunder = 1 anim.
Leap Slam = 1 anim.
Rolling Slam = 1 anim.
Meanwhile, ER Greathammer:
R1 = 3 anims
R2 = 2 anims
Charged R2 = each swing charged with is actually technically a separate animation as it ends differently to uncharged in alot of cases, in some cases the 2nd charged R2 is completely different entirely
Running R2 = 1 anim
Running R1 = 1 anim
Jumping R1 = 1 anim
Jumping R2 = 1 anim
Rolling R1 = 1 anim
Ability to Block, and the weapon has offensive and defensive attributes as well as a myriad of values of poise/stamina health damage, knockback, status buildup values, as well as different damage multipliers for each and every attack, for instance the first R1 is 98% damage, 2nd is 100%, last is 105%
2x all the above for One handed vs Two handed anims (PoE btw weapons are locked in handedness)
Oh, and then there's the mounted combat attacks for the weapons.
You can equip each and every item in the game one hand or two handed in either left or right hand and use them alongside any other item i.e. halberd in left hand rapier in right, dual shields, two handing a single shield that was in your left hand etc etc
This isn't even up to the skills part yet. You can put a skill on the weapon, some have unique ones made just for that weapon etc. PoE has more mechanic interest with effects and variability, but I'm not talking about that shit, nigger.
ER combat unironically has like 20x the anims of PoE2 by any conservative estimate.
The least they can do, is make the few repeated anims and attacks they have god tier, and they're not. They're typical western dev bad melee combat no better than Dragon Age 2 or Oblivion tier. That Silent Hill 2 webm I posted is no worse or better than PoE2 melee. Infact, in Silent Hill 2 you CAN move while attacking, the character in that webm just simply isn't doing so because it's not needed for that encounter.
