Given how slow we've become and the times we've outright died because of inactivity, I think it would be better if we migrated to a slower board like /vrpg/. It's a fairly slow board, and that would mean less bumps required and best of all, no gachaniggers pushing us to page 10 all the time.
Alternatively, this IS a multiplayer and soon to be multiplayer game, so /vm/ and /vmg/ are also technically available, but /vrpg/ would be for the best place to go to.

If /pal/ does move /vm/ seems like a good fit, could encourage more server activity and would blend better with the other existing generals.
If the upcoming mobile release is distinct enough maybe a separate /vmg/ presence would be warranted, otherwise the bumps could be used to help keep the main threads afloat.

It's about fucking damn time. Having to split up messages and then get timed out because you sent too many is godawful.

I know they fixed the glitch where you could pet/mount pals to phase into walls prior but didn't know they could push you. A shame, need to find some other way to phase past walls.

Grass Dragon was a placeholder or early concept for Shroomer I believe. I'd fucking murder for an offensive grass type with an active ability especially if drew inspiration from Sceptile and had cool arm blades, unfortunately the highest dps Grass type (excluding Verdash with Gobfin because that's player damage.) is Quivern Botan. I also find it ironic Lyleen is decent in pvp (Stalleen) but trash in hard mode tower bosses/raids.

I imagine Dark Mutant was scrapped because of pic related. While it looks nothing like Mewtwo or it's official variants (instead looking more like Snatchmon and I will die on this hill), the beta design is a bit uncanny. At this point though, if Palworld makes it out of the lawsuit unscathed Dark Mutant has such a mystery to it in the fandom it needs to be in-game.

Man that input interface for the machine and how the conveyor is hooked up looks strikingly similar to Satisfactory. It's kind of uncanny and made me do a double take at first. I'd get a better screenshot with better matching buildings and conveyors but I don't feel like reinstalling the game.

Why. Blazamut Ryu is going to clown on it even if it has an ice phase. Logically King Whale should be next. Unless they plan to save it for a full water zone. (Which looking at the unreleased Pals seems likely.) The previous dark type raid was "solved" several times over. It's got to be an inside joke, but literally half the paldeck is dark type. I get the nocturnal variants and such, but the nocturnal trait kinda makes them pointless by the second island. Then you have Pals like Lyleen Noct who is almost useless on the base AND didn't get the self heal like the normal variant. No idea what the play is here.

To me it sounds like Palworld is merely the battleground for these two megacorpos to fight it out once again, which is kind of a shame, I really want to see how this franchise develops and grows. You literally cannot compete with Pokemon. Everyone who has tried has either been self-sabotaging (Yokai Watch, Temtem), or has not been anything more than a "meh" at best (Cassette Beasts and various others). And even if they were to make a good game, they don't have the budget of a marketing juggernaut like TPC.
The only realistic threat to Pokemon is itself, but as long as naive children and brainless brand loyalist manchildren continue buying the games (twice + DLCs) no matter how low quality they get, they're effectively immortal. Considering there are many people who still unironically think Scarlet/Violet are the best Pokemon games to date, nothing is ever going to change for the foreseeable future.

Hence the deal between Pocketpair, Sony Music, and Aniplex to make Palworld Entertainment, a company focused on expanding the IP outside of the game(s) itself. Pokemon blew up not just because of the games, but because of the anime and the card game as well, to say nothing of all the other merch once the ball got rolling. Palworld got lucky by reaching critical mass when it launched, and now it's trying to ride the wave with merchandising and whatever other expansion they're thinking of.

I agree. They're smart in trying to capitalize on its popularity and success by branching out to other mediums, especially merchandise.
The thing is, however, it is not a Pokemon competitor and never was. The only substantial similarities (that aren't done by like thousands of other games) are the creature capturing mechanics and the creature design style. You don't craft or use your own weapons in Pokemon, and you don't collect badges or take part in turn-based combat in Palworld. The towers are nothing like Pokemon's gym challenges, and Pokemon doesn't let you build a base literally anywhere in the world. The whole lawsuit thing is purely a result of Nintendo not wanting ANYTHING that is even REMOTELY similar to Pokemon to be successful, hence why they never did anything against the likes of SMT, Yokai Watch, or any of the dozens of Pokemon ripoffs/clones/wannabes/etc, despite Palworld being almost nothing like Pokemon in terms of gameplay.

It's like the video infers. This was never a GameFreak vs. PocketPair situation, not in court and not in the competitive market. It's just more Nintendo vs. Sony shit.

i seem to get good luck with the island in and around mossanda forest. use a fully condensed katress or blazehowl noct to increase the chances of doubling your loot (40% at base rank, 80% at max)
you need to have the pal out for these effects to apply so you only need to bring one. then bring a tombat or two with you so you can use the radar ability to hunt down mimogs

desert 2 is that north half, desert 1 is the south half, volcano 3 is that area it spawns along the south coast of the volcano island. it's supposed to spawn in all three of these but for whatever reason it doesn't in desert 1 aka the south half which is also the one mimog spawner set to night instead of undefined.

Thoughts on Philantropist? On one hand, breeding is all luck, so throwing more numbers and see if something happens could be a reliable strategy. However, Philantropist adds another layer of rng since it's usually not a desired passive in the end. I feel like it's not good on servers, since you can just go to sleep/play something else while eggs pile up, but in single player it could be a different story

Work speed affects it but only for a portion of it. When the pal does their animation to produce a good is when work speed gets used. Higher work speed, faster the animation is completed. A combination of high work speed + nocturnal is probably best for farm animals imo

The idle animation? The part where they're just milling about in the pen like retards? I would say no but I'm not 100% certain. I did 1 test where I released 2 pals, one with no work speed and one that had 250ish work speed. Both took about the same amount of time (give or take a second) before they entered the animation to produce drops. I should probably test against with some chikipis

The idea with salad is that it doesn't provide a large amount satiety ontop of not having a fullness buff, so that means pals will eat more often, refreshing the workspeed buff before it runs out. It goes back to the discussion of having fun since you end up accumulating more resources than you can reasonably use, and I detest the idea of living eating only salad. Besides, I'd rather keep all my ores in a single refined chest for convenience

I used to play with Pal Analyzer, would use it to see wild legends' passives before going for catches.
Lantern Toggle was nice early on, but ever since I learned I could drop it there's been no need.
I still use mods or cheat tables that remove build restrictions.

yeah, after the june update which was mostly just pals and an island they've been fucking around with porting to the ps5 and now a mac version later this month for apple's faggy arm based M1/M2 processors.

You're right bros I overreacted, they have been improving the game since launch, like how they completely gave up on base pathfinding and just turned off the collision and made pals work on nothing standing in place. They were even thoughtful enough to put a notification on screen about it!
