how far has Gen 5 romhacking come in the past couple years?
has anyone been able to create a full romhack? complete with map changes and new Pokemon? my friend is new to Pokemon, but she doesn't want to leave the 2D style. She wants modern Pokemon from Kalos and Alola, which most rom hacks would have anyway, but the last I checked Gen 5 hacking is just straight up not possible, but that was five years ago.

and wouldn't you know it, every single search result for Gen 5 rom hacking yields crappy reddit threads from five to ten years ago.
