You can check it on that 3500G chest in the ship. Going back to IIRC the 3rd fight checkpoint respawns it everytime, though it won't show up in the map.

Seems like it's fight 4 that moves the dude. You also can't just "jump" to a checkpoint you're already at, it seems. It doesn't actually reload anything, the chest didn't respawn. I guess if you go from fight 3 to 4 over and over through the wheel it's farmable, but that's 2 trips and barely worth it for 3.5k.

How do I get the ent quest on F3 to reappear? I've tried rewinding to just after progressing past the cave ins all the way to the live bait. The bunny quest has showed up again just not the ents.

Fun fact. In wizardry 4, the adventurer parties you fight belonged to actual players. When you completed wizardry1-3, you could ship your floppy disk in to prove it. Then, due to the plot of 4, your party might be in the game. Also, Robin Williams was a known fan of the series and sent his floppy in. So, if you ever played 4, you might have fought his characters.

Should I just run through the earlier floors for gold? It's such a pain swapping weapons constantly on 7F/8F (haven't beaten Helmut the first time yet or the rank up exam), and I mostly just find junk (which keeps leading to better gear and thus less money). Also, will the Goblin Caves be doable now?

Protip: You can also Restore the rubble AFTER you destroy it with damage (optimally with the Pickaxe) to stun helmut for 2 turns

Someone said it's 1/3 for a bone because there are 3 doors in each wing and you need to pay gems to open more than one
I haven't paid the gems because it also spawns enemies out the ass and I can farm more safely without them
My personal experience was more like 60/40 in favor of bones, but I might have gotten very lucky

Alright, after some more testing, I think that making chests respawn is something you can only do once a day, and I'm still unsure as to the mechanism. I'll try again after the date change.

I tested out a lot of the weird equipment like various rings, tattered doll, mace of agony
The only one with a "hidden" stat bonus is rabbit tail (trap evade)
All the other ones are just shitty/redundant by design unless there's a super secret unlisted perk. I wouldn't put it past them to give tattered doll a hidden bonus to flee success or something because otherwise it's just a renamed iron ring.

She'll eventually be a great mage, but with the class change items being random and very limited (at least so far), I wouldn't bet on you using her as a mage for the next 30+ hours
Just put most points into Vit and Speed so it's useful in either class, her initial stats and bonus points will only be a small part of total stats after class levels that will pump up IQ/Piety respectively

Having spent an hour farming the Thief Mausoleum, I'm very torn on if it's intentional or not.
On one hand, this game absolutely needs a way to acquire bones for random people or else you simply cannot rank up. This implies that, yes, all these bones that you grind here are intentional. They are core to the gameplay.
On the other hand, this is a lot of passives and stats you can stack on units. Alice is good, but what about Valdor who has had 20 other Valdors shoved into him, giving him a ton of extra base stats?
What about the MC who has consumed every inherited skill? There's a lot of power even in these generics.
I'm going to keep farming it since the exp isn't awful, maybe bringing some other small characters when I hit 40, but I feel like this needs to stay unchanged and also can't remain as is.

Not even RNG, it's just class dependent, so as a priest she'll gain a lot of piety from levels, and when she's releveled as a mage she'll get lots of IQ
That's why I recommended him to just put most points into Vit/Speed because they'll be useful in both classes, but either way by level 30 these bonus points already hardly matter and by endgame (if it really goes to level 100+) it'll be the tiniest drop in the bucket

This is a gacha, a Japanese one too, which has laws against modifying characters in negative ways that were not disclosed upon purchase/pulling in gacha.

Not necessarily. It's similar to other gacha where you have a generic banner that you can roll 1-4* units, but 4*s are extremely rare. Oftentimes 4*s are acquire through the premium banners along with 5*s and are much more common there.

You've got two options. One is that you have good detection and avoid every encounter (aside from one room, they rarely travel along the wall). The second is that you kill everything in one run then go back to the well for full restore. Killing the ents on a separate run before is even safer.

IDK why dumping all bonus points into speed is not common. Damage and defense you can shore up with equipment, but speed will always be an arms race.
Getting outsped by enemies in turn base games sucks ass, especially if getting ambushed or enemy natural outspeed preventing you from setting up correctly

You don't get it. Banners are CONTROLLED. All gem sources in gacha are CONTROLLED to prevent inflation and to increase FOMO in whales.

Bone farming is uncontrolled. Nothing is stopping you farming 2000 bones. Sure, they're only SRs, but this game makes an obvious distinction between free grindable stuff, like equipment, and paid stuff, like bones. Every other bone source in the game is controlled, just like gems. You can't farm bone chests. The bone man only shows up X amount of times within a span of time or a location, you can't just reset the map for 5 hours until he shows up again.

If you could farm other bone sources, I would agree with you that they have just made the decision to let SR bones be uncontrolled. But you're also forgetting the tombs were bugged on launch, and this was a shoddy hotfix to get them working, which makes it even more likely that it's a bug.

Yeah, you only get 3 weekly. I imagine events will fill in the gaps, honestly nobody needs to be above 40 yet anyway, the 2nd dungeon boss is doable at 30 with half-decent gear, and fairly easy at 40.

If you can have infinite of them, for free, then SPENDING MONEY becomes even less likely, because the consolation prize is worthless. All that matters is SSRs, everything else you get is junk.

You do not understand the fundamental difference between gated resources and free resources. It's the lynchpin of the gacha system, it's why you get 3 revives over X time instead of unlimited revives. Tags are time-gated on purpose, to incentivize payment to "skip the grind". Why didn't they just not make tags if they wanted you to be able to get every level up quest for free (in terms of both time and money, both are commodities in gacha)?

Mages can cast Cortu if you know the enemy is prone to AoE magic attacks.
You cast it at the start of fights and you get a team wide magic defense buff.
I'm doing lvl 50 fights and not a single mob or boss has wiped my entire team in one spell or AoE attack.
Also Alice in particular is pretty bulky for no reason vs a Lut who has around 80 hp less than her and still isn't one shot.
And both my casters use a two handed staff no shield so there real threat imo if you properly prepare.

Sure just using (Better Attack) isn't the deepest thing in the world, but it's at least some additional resource management, it works well with other stuff that gives you windows of opportunity like defend creating openings/sleep doubling damage received etc.

It's really not, on physical side of things. It is as you said an auto-attack simulator with them. Mages are a lot more varied. And bards and gadgeteers get a lot of fun toys (they're just mage spells in item form).
But yeah, at the end of the day it mostly has attack-attack-spell-heal gameplay, though there are some interesting things like considering that enemies can surround your party and kill your backline.

We don't really have a good grasp of the gem economy yet, it's only been a week and we haven't seen any limited events or anything. I don't think Savor the Risk really counts. Optimistically I'd say we could potentially get 10k gems/month, but it's probably going to be closer to 8k plus some number of bones.

The game already has opaque mechanics (grime).

The game is using the suggestion of permadeath as a selling point and as a thematic vibe, so I can only hope they actually plan on making it happen at some point (aside from the player being retarded or causing it intentionally).

They could have just not included tags in the game. Finish the rank up quest, you can level up again. They put tags in as a content gate. Either you have to wait X weeks, or get X bones. And bones are meant to be gated too.

Almost every single one of the gacha games people traditionally point to as being super generous give you stingy dogshit roll income (PriConne in particular literally has you NEGATIVE gem income if you're playing at all efficiently while not in one of the discord circlejerks for arena) and then like 98% of their rolls from limited time events.
A lot of later gachas figured out how good it works too since you can use it to bait in seasonal casualfags who log in, roll for stuff, maybe buy a few packs, and then fuck off til the next big event.
It's why I've learned to never gauge generosity based of what you get per day anymore, and most of the gacha income charts fags make these days include event rewards

Nah it won't be that low.

We get 900/mo from dailies, 800/mo from weeklies (depending on how the calender works out), 1000/mo from guild points (saving up for the SSR bone should be considered a trap until we see gerald added to the general pool), we got 500/week from savor the risk so 2000/mo if that's consistent with future events, and 200 every 2 weeks from Today's Supplies, which should more or less just loop.

So that's 5100 right there, not counting bones.

We got a bunch from Special Supplies but that was a release celebration thing and also the stickers cover up the first digit so i can't even count them.

No. How is 10 bones better than an SSR? Especially while bones are unlimited.

Free constant sources are 2k a month. The event doubles that, but when the game isn't bringing in money that'll soon decrease, I could easily see us continuing at 4k, which is what we're already at if you don't factor in the guild points.

Iron boss is a joke.
The plan boss from den of earth but, with more hp and can summon mobs that are no issue.
The real problem comes from the corridors since they're super tight and the mobs are rather chunky and annoying so it requires you to waste a lot of time to try and navigating around them.

Yes but it's not just Genshin that does that. Final Fantasy Brave Exvuis, which this game takes a LOT of influence from, in terms of the cash shop, also did it. Though I'd hate to think any modern game is going to be as unapologetically greedy and FOMO as FFBE was.

But also consider that for the price of that one SSR bone you're getting 10 limited pulls. We do of course have 6 days before we have to decide whether to get the gems or save.

Anyway we'll know for sure once Gerard's banner is gone.

I got Debra and Gerulf when I was already using Amelia and Chloe, so I decided to level them up and compare just to see how different their stats would be at the same level. Shockingly Amelia has the better stat spread, but Gerulf completely mogs Chloe in stats. (ignore attack/defense debra and gerulf have better equipment)

My guess would be that he has a random chance to spawn on certain sets of floors every time you enter the dungeon, like treasure chests and other NPC encounters are also randomized

The priest has enough health to survive on the frontline. He just won't be as effective as a fighter for hitting. Only real reason to have him there is to leave space for weaker characters in the back row

It's both. Priests are more like D&D priests where they get to wear heavier armor and fight well on top of having a good amount of hitpoints, but on the other hand, your healing power will suffer since you want to use a shield then and constantly take care of "yourself". And well, if they're in backline they can dispense buffs more freely and triage when needed, on top of acting as a ranged unit with their spells.

I still fail to see the point in class change.
Why would you do it? Is it like somehow enhanced version of the class you're changing into? Do you retain some skills from the previous class?
If it's just a clean slate of the new class then what's the point of spending so many gems on just changing a good priest to a good(?) mage, when many mages exist already? am i retarded or missing something obvious here? doesn't changing class make a character inherently weaker, and costs a fuckton of gems?

There's few instances where you'd use cover instead of line cover anyway, haven't noticed a chance difference between the two
Maybe cover gets cool perks at higher levels I suppose but I still rarely use either cover anyway

Buggy as hell release but not the worst i've seen. You get harken hooks, keep one on you at all times in case you get glitched into a wall or something. Release events might be extended due to bugs.

SSR makes the grind much easier as on demand aoe, lower mp cost, regaining sp and hp regen after battle let's you last longer in dungeon and fight more battles before returning back to town. You can beat the beginner chapter just fine without any SSR, just takes a bit more time to grind up.

2. tell uncle he looks like albano
3.get letter
4. return to abyss, DON'T give letter to dylanhart, talk to albano instead
5.Get second request from uncle, it's find a mimic on B5 in a room(doesn't appear on map)
6. have front row to defend to put an opening on the mimic, makes whoever attacks the opening do insane damage
7. Go to B3, find two flowers around the level
8.return to town, complete request
9. return to labyrinth
10. you'll talk to albano, he won't transform later

This is the long way, otherwise you can just give the letter to dylanhart and he'll fuck off as well, but he'll hate you and you won't get the achievements.

I also haven't tried to give the sachet to him earlier in the trade yet.

Decided to test it out myself with weapons with near identical damage, holy fuck this damage boost is massive. Left is with a spear, right is with a two-handed hammer. I've kept Gerulf on the back to keep getting the lana damage boost but this is far more worth it.

He's probably one of the better candidates for nuking bosses debuffed with opening.

Take thief, for instance. It gains passive critical up (surety or w/e) which persists through characters. That means anyone who does physical damage benefits.

Was that supposed to be hard? Because it really wasn't. I just Metal Gear'd through the stage to save my resources, cleared the boss' summons with Adam's nuke, debuffed him with action speed down and armor break level 3 and hit him with everything I had. He summoned some more mooks but went down before really posing any threat. Only had one mage, didn't need fireball scrolls or anything, I still had MP at the end of the fight. He did seem immune to Delay Attack but it wasn't a huge issue.

Port 6F question: does the water god statue that controls the boss room also corrupt over time? This entire floor has been a buggy mess for me where water god statues can only be reverted once despite the reversal state being temporary. The overworld also doesn't actually reflect whether or not a section is flooded after reversing a corrupted water god statue, so I can't even be entirely certain how long I have until a flooded section floods up again.

I believe the boss room statue doesn't corrupt over time, but it is scripted to flood after a set number of turns during the fight. I don't know for sure, but both times I ran the fight the flood started about the same sort of time.

The biggest issue with XP grinding for me is downtime. Having to leave, switch my MC off the class to rest at an inn and then come back is slow as shit.

Best farm in my mind is still fixing B7F and then just doing a loop with a fast nuke mage and resting at the fountain so you don't have to worry about levelling up and nerfing your XP gain. It's fairly easy to level 4 guys at a time, 5 if you're willing to not level your MC too or you have enough damage to not worry about possible stragglers.

I really do think it should be legal to kill whoever was responsible for designing this entire floor. I think this might actually be tied to HP and not turn count, since I managed to blitz through at least 1500HP before he reflooded on turn 3. Unfortunately half of that damage came from my casters and I couldn't kill him faster than he could kill my party (not having a healer is FUN). The worst part is that I brought scrolls, but figured I'd just use them on clearing out trash mobs so that I could use the fountain and fight the boss at full SP and MP.

Class change is only good if the roles overlap, a fighter respecing into a thief is broken but a wizard would be useless. Alternatively characters whose statlines are made for their changed class like all the fighter/knight elves.

It wasn't that Dungeon Crawlers were bad, its that they never bothered to innovate. I fucking hope this game suceeds and revives the genre.

If I had to guess, Class Changes will happen in an almost final fantasy manner where you need like, 50 levels fighter 50 levels knight to be able to be a Lord, 50 levels Thief 50 Levels Mage to be a Ninja, etc.
In Wizardry proper it's stat-gated but stats are pretty ballooned here so it probably wont be that.

Well that's unfortunate. When I couldn't restore the Harken at the docks I thought it was weird, but figured there might be some sort of story explanation (and also didn't care very much because there's nothing on that floor). Now that I've fought through another floor of enemies, I care quite a lot more about being able to get back to town without backtracking through whatever enemies that might have slipped past my party's Detect (especially any trios of Lizardman Champions)

Your max HP gets +300 later.
Shrimple as that but in my experience you fight like 2x more sometimes so it's still useful, great at keeping up chip damage.

So at higher levels, 12hp is barely anything.
If you feed her dupes it can go up to 44hp heal I think? Which at the point even the highest level players are right now, should still be a respectable amount, but it will surely fall off as well.

One time I had an enemy on a fixed spawn chest and it dropped its own chest on defeat. Opening the dropped chest then rendered the fixed chest unusable until I reentered the floor, so it seems like they've got some sort of event consumption issue in their code.

Hmmm, I had a communication error in a dungeon with a green enemy discovered (and unaware of where I was at the time), I decided to restart the app but when I came back I was in a fight with somehow the game "paused" (I've never saw that before).

Lana doesn't fall off, her stats are in the same ballpark as any other character, but she has a 10% row damage buff if you fulfill the requirements
So far I haven't run into anything where a knight feels super required instead of a fighter, but they have some neat stuff that I can see being useful in tough fights

You can get to the boss of the lead grade exam without fighting many enemies, just have to get them to go down different forks. Often they'll do that after their aggro resets.
There's two spawn locations and the more convenient one is just north of the spawn.

I think the problem is that you can't exactly make a gigantic boss look impressive in this game because of this. In other games you could be fighting some gods with the size of the twin towers but if you do this in this game, you are just gonna poke at his face on a magical platform at best.

From what I've seen, leveling to 20 doesn't change exp gains against level 30 enemies, so you have some leeway to level up to not be in one shot range at least. Also for reference, it takes 78k exp to hit level 20

Bro I can not for the life of me get the game to let me give the defenders light shield.

I've tried restarting from the beginning, getting to the large harkstone, then doing the shield quest.

I've tried doing the shield quest before getting to the large harJackie's.

I've tried just going forward past the large harkstone and getting the the ceiling collapse event.
I've talked to the defenders, I've talked to the knight dude, I talked to his lackies.

Nothing works, I've never get the prompt to hand over the shields. Does anyone have a full proof way to do this? Is it possible on NG+ or do I need to wait until NG+2?

Learn to Metal Gear your way around enemies, it'll serve you well. Keep in mind you can always flee and then run away if you do run into something you can't beat without spending resources.

That said you really don't need the level uncap until like b6f or so, and keeping yourself at level 20 will mean you get better exp. No need to rush the grade up.
