I think you can tell when he's gonna come up in the daily because the book rewards are also significantly better than previous days. The time I got him the rewards were 9 blue books and 1 purple, today's daily was 1 blue and a few greens.

Should I swap Gerulf for someone else?
Also, what equipment? Me and Lana are Dagger & Board (with Wind Sword on inventory), Gerulf is using an Iron Two-Handed Mace I somehow got, and everyone on the backline is using Two-Handed Staffs.

I'm thinking the best GENERAL team is probably something like:

Eckhart for the accuracy bonus because knights have shit acc
Gandolfo because all the other fighter passives kinda suck
Milana behind Gandolfo to boost his damage
Marianne for the MP discount
Dino since nothing resists both wind and earth and most things are weak to one or the other and he has magical beast slayer in case something is neutral.

One of each class is standard, but priests are tanky enough to go frontline.
Thieves can work both ways due to hide reducing their aggro, and I think sneak attack mentions it ignores distance modifiers?
Knight and fighters can also be run backline if you give them spears, Knights actually have a valid reason to do this since their cover ability can force an enemy to attack them, making them suffer from the distance penalty. Fighters don't have a reason to do this though, since spears are weaker than other 2-handed weapons to compensate for their extended range.
I think mages are the only one that is strictly a backliner.

Yes, that's where the Element-Kin blessing and Element Formations start coming into play.

Hopefully they implement saved party formations like Final Fantasy Record Keeper has has for six years.

Yeah the game doesn't explain a lot of key stuff but almost all combat options matter, especially once you hit the harder content

Honestly pretty good, but I'd struggle to call it much better than Benjamin getting a bonus against magical beasts, Chloe against adventurers, Gaston against demihumans, or Gerulf getting extra accuracy with twohand weapons and his own fire physical attack, their stats will also end up quite similar

Did you get him a decent staff and upgrade it? They are the biggest source of magic power which scales the damage on his spells
For the first dungeon buying the Silverworked Staff and getting it to +4 is good the whole way through

Anybody else scared of how big the games getting. At launch it was 3 gigs. Last week it was 5. Now its almost 7. All theyve added was 1 guy and bug fixes. If it keeps growing at this rate next year it will end up 80+gigs unable to fit on most phones cause they cant optimize worth a damn.

Maces have an absolute garbage proc rate for stun. Until that either gets buffed or we figure out what determines the proc rate, just go staves. In fact, ALWAYS go staves over maces for Priests. Maces have no bonus DIV, so I don't see why you'd want a mace Priest unless you plan on some sort of memey item-heals-only strat.

Passive HP Up has 14 levels. We're not sure how much exp each level takes, but it goes from 100 to 300 at level 3. That is a lot of dwarf-knights.

Sounds like you could use a better staff for your mage like the one at the shop
And it's not necessary but you can grab a few ores at earth dungeon to +5 your better pieces
I don't think he should be oneshotting anyone unless its that "wait and see" chargeup move which you just defend against.

Hopefully you grinded Undeadbane weapons for your party before you went to NG+. You don't need anything better than that + Bronze armor. If you're still struggling and don't want to level an extra Mage; go do a few runs of Earth Den to get ore to get your gear to +5 for a stat boost

So gems or legendary bone from guild exchange?
8k cost means you get 2000 gems over 4 resets which is 11 pulls in bulk and you have to commit early
>Skins don't really do anything different(so far)
>New character don't seem that much different
Bone just seems better unless you really need or want the spark mats and the gems are the difference between making it or losing it

Multiple copies of a SSR isn't that great since most of them have shitty inherit skills and discipline is such a tiny stat gain

is it just me or is weaponswapping broken? this isnt the pickaxe bug. every time ive tried to swap weapons the game as a connection error and ive had to force quit the app and restart it to continue playing. its happend 6 times in the last 10 minutes. at least its not reseting the fight or anything.

Lana and alice dupes seem nice for their passive. As for discipline I have a suspicion it scales better at certain levels due to the increased dupe costs. I'm not doubting a limited would be better in the future, but the cost differential means that you're probably trading 9-10 legendaries for that 1 character in terms of pure exchange mats and the former still seems to be useful as a resource months or years ahead because the gem gain is already miniscule.

True but unless you're buying the packs with selector bones it's not feasible to get super high ranks like that because of the RNG and even then because of how inheritance works do you really want to spend a year gunning for the legends so your lana can go from 32 healing to 44 or whatever, I would personally rather have a new unit to play with then be using the same ones I used on launch.
I think either option is fine and comes down to playstyle / need for the new shiny but I do think gems are the more future proof option, if you get gerulf in your legend and have no plans to use him you just wasted potential gems that could have been used to build pity for a limited character / weapon

I think with a game as complex as this, with so many moving parts, it's hard to iron out every last issue. In general, the game works well, and I'm saying this as someone who has had to do a full re-install because a fight bugged out on me. In terms of actual glitches, they're fairly minimal. We've got one bugged quest, some retards getting pushed through locked doors, a few guys crashing at awkward points and failing to set flags for stone powers or the fucking wheel, that guy is fucked.

The thing that irks me the most about the hardlocks is that it's a time sensitive game

Right now, it's because named adventurers can already do everything you need. I don't care about a "new" legendary that does like 10% more damage. If they have utility abitilies, that's a different story. I see Lana's heal more of a "Your priests have more MP, your allies have more item slots, your dps have more SP " through being less concerned about chip damage, but that only applies outside of boss fights. Overall, it really hinges on their rate of powercreep. I agree Gerulf is possibly the worst option to get, but he is also currently the only one who gains surety from discipline. Just being mildly optimistic here until I can confirm if there's jumps at certain levels.

I agree either choice is valid. I'm just leaning more towards the bone personally in the game's current state. If powercreep does get to the point where an adventurer is like 2-3x better than the current ones, the game will have other issues than what I'm concerned about now.

Each mausoleum has bones for the specified characters but only 3 can spawn in a single run and only one can be obtained unless you pay at the alter to allow you to claim all three. But that also raises the monster spawn count.

Powercreep is fine (to an extent) as long as the game is doable without the latest shiny new toys. Like in Genshin there's a clear powercreep between year 0 and year 4 characters, but the content is easy enough you can still get through it all with shitters.

In my opinion anon you should just save your gems for a different banner.
The knight is the same as the one in the standard banner so if you want her you might aswell just roll her there or pick it with the boner selector from the story.
I'd personally save for a new limited mage since mages have just been oppressively strong or a thief since it'll be the end all thief until the next one.

Just know gems are precious the game is stingy as fuck (so don't fall for any of the bait in the jeweler shop) in exchange you can pretty much clear everything with any unit.

He's OK, main reason to pull him is to have a full good/neutral front line with Lana since the others are either back row or evil. The wind strike is neat if it comes up, and his passive is OK. Stat spread is terrible for a Knight, but maybe advanced classes will save it?

Initials stats (as far as I can tell, I looked through some random characters) is the same, bonus points are the only way to change how one named character acts from another similarly named character. I have noticed speed at the very least doesn't increase all that much (if at all) so the initial speed stat matters a lot (and bonus points to fix that speed even more so).

Yeah, rerolling takes around 30 minutes and is fairly simple
It isn't as vital as other gachas but it's an option
Just progress until you get access to your guild mailbox (standard rolls) and then meet the knights at the edge of town and go back to town. Green bones are in the jeweler's shop, 11 for 2000. Make sure you pick the right banner.

Rerolls will take around 20 minutes each at the fastest. You can still reroll for Lana(alt) while she's rate up but she doesn't perform any different than her base form. You just have a better chance to get her if you don't want to use your selector for her. She's still rerollable for a week but I think today is the last day you can reroll without missing the launch celebration legendary from 7d login. For this game specifically, I'd definitely recommend rerolling as your progression is less timegated than your gem gain.

idk about you but unless you wasted a lot of gems without getting to pity I don't think your account can be that bricked yet
having at least one of the SSR mages seems very nice, but other than that I don't think any of the characters so far are too much better than regular named adventurers
Sure Lana and Debra are super convenient especially early game, but their uniques don't seem like they'll hold up forever

use wind mage and wind sword cause he's weak to wind
have wind mage (I used Jarmil) use Mental Unity to buff damage. It was doing insane 236~ avg every cast. I also had AoE Wind scrolls for summons.
Do NOT let anyone die, ressing is wasting two of your own turns. It's important to buff backline def, top them off as necessary, and gear them this fight
Even with that, an unlucky boulder toss OHKO my Jarmil one time and I had to reset my first fight because reviving is too crippling with paralysis+heal

Did you get the Saint's Shield and other stuff? Knight Commander will block Ram to mitigate damage, sometimes take aggro, and heal you.

Adam can ignore type matchups with his spells. That being said, I don't think he even learns any elemental spells to exploit type weaknesses. Aren't his only native offensive spells from the Badios line? You can just teach him other elemental spells later, but you can do the same for every other Mage.

Yekaterina's spells do extra damage to Undead. She can also sometimes prevent Ambushes, but the proc chance is (or feels) pretty low.

I keep taking fort damage from traps, even if you catch most of them you don't catch all of them. So it's almost like it's a "stamina" farming zone.
Still going from +4 to +5 is often a big bump so its worth it

You can try rewinding and doing that part over again, I ended up doing it much later and it wasted a lot of time having to go back that far

There are rare gear drops in Den that are earth aspected, and they can drop off ANY mob in there. Hunting enemies down there can be tedious because of all the traps but they can drop ore too. It's just more efficient to beeline for the boss

Once you get a high enough trap detection you should be able to get there without walking into any spikes, so that'll be the only one you do. The boss is pretty easy too.
The big slime enemy right before the spike trap is a constant too

Alright I did five runs in a row with different layouts before hitting a repeat on my 6th run - there could be more but it shouldn't really matter as the only difference can be one small section but the traps will be in the same spots. It depends on if there are a bunch of premade maps or if the sections chosen for the map are different each time.

My recommendation is that you just do a few runs walking into every tile before you go to bed so that you can sleep off the fortitude hit. Eventually every trap tile will be mapped and you can easily avoid them for future runs

I had the same bug, and got through them with prayer, baiting enemies into non-water tiles and just juking enemies
Also just as a headsup so you don't have to do the faggot boss twice, load up on scrolls of gravel for your backline and a few healing potions, even if you deactivate his water he'll rise it back up in the fight

I've found that their higher base damage being able to brute force past high enemy DEF to be plenty useful. 2H Axes especially, which seem to ignore a part or all of an enemy's DEF for ludicrous damage. The only weapon class I really can't abide by right now is the mace. Low base damage which gets caught up in enemy DEF wouldn't be so bad if its two traits, stun and attack reroll on evade, weren't so fucking shit. The stun proc is hilariously low. Its ability to reroll an attack when an enemy evades COULD be good if it dealt full damage, but a successful reroll (seen as a "glancing blow") only does like half-damage from a weapon that already does knife-tier damage.

I am currently in the second dungeon and using the axe from the shop and i'm hitting 230 normal hits vs my team mates who are hitting around 140~ with two hits.
I think the defense pen is absolute insane.
Sleep spell + lvl 3 heavy attack lets me pump our 843~ blows.

I've been keeping up buffs but have not evaded a single hit, am I unlucky or are they a waste of turn? Same with Attract Hit on Knight, doesn't redirect at all and even if boss hits when he's blocking, no bonus damage.
But I'll admit to getting greedy with heals.One time I was hoping my Priest will get to heal me, did damage, but phase transition happened and he just killed me out of turn order.
My last run I got to second wave of worms, does it keep going for long after that?

And is the pickaxe supposed to oneshot rubble? Gave it to my knight and he did 5 hits but rock stayed there.

I think trying to buff/debuff evasion is not a good use of a turn since its too rng and debuffs can miss as well
Sometimes its better to go with the things you actually have control over like your own damage
I've never messed with the rocks, you can actually attack over them with arrows spells and polearms and it hampers his moveset too

Yeah it looks like class skill level = +1 skill level regardless of exp.
I had done the same as you but i ate more gandolfo's and it turned my heavy attack lvl2 instantly into lvl3 when i hit the level in fighter.

Enemies have varying levels of detectability and some are just cunts who will appear right at your feet and ambush you, it'll literally say "ambushed by hidden enemy" or something. Just pray to Yekat rng and then spam flee. Potion up if you took hits to conserve mp.
But once they've appeared on your map they're painted for good and you can easily juke them and step into another ambush puddle

I can personally attest that you can make it to the west swamp without fighting anyone (fleeing doesn't count)
Sometimes you have to lure them down a corridor or hide until they lose interest and go down a different branch
When an enemy begins moving to another tile, they're committed and that's when you can make your move. If they're in neutral they can react.

+5 is available when you get access to the den of earth so it is relatively easy to get. +5 also unlocks/enhances the first substat.
Anything above starts taking multiple runs in the den so you should hold off of them for now.

It's normal early. I too, got my skull caved in by a hobgoblin for my first death. Grind or whatnot, but the game encourages going forward because EXP is way more rewarding the harder a fight is. Put a Bow on your Thief. Daggers are pretty shit. Learn how Def works.

Priest go in the back unless you specifically gear them with shields and heavy armor.
Thieves are kind of trash damage wise until later on when they can spam their skills. Precise strike ignores some def which is hugely important since daggers have low ATK ratings. Or you can just give them a bow instead, but overall, don't expect them to out damage fighters, you just need them to open chests. If you have the legendary thief Debra, she comes with a SP recovery on kill passive which helps early on but becomes pointless later.

I've had the weapon swapping error, and most of the time I hit the button before closing the game and reopening it.
This time I just closed the game and relaunched and it returned me to the turn I was on. Can more people test this out to see if this works as a "fix" if you want to weapon swap without risking a fight reset?

Yeah it drains my phone battery faster than it charges while connected to pc. It's crazy. If you limit it to 30 fps it isn't so bad, but it makes in-battle raising a complete crapshoot.

Wizardry isn't like most RPGs, you start off incredibly fragile and useless. Hang around the entrance and grind a few goblins, then go back to town and rest in the stable to levelup. A few levels makes a big difference and gets you some skills.
The first big skill to look out for is your mage's KATINO, it's a line-aoe sleep that will save your ass against stuff like those hobgoblins.
Fighters and knights will be carrying your party for a while, priests and mages are pretty useless until like midgame but then they become vital. Thief is just there to open traps really...
Go back to town and recuperate any time you feel overextended. The game is largely about resource and risk management.

This game is actually surprisingly flexible in terms of unit placement, the only class that is explicitly stuck on the backline is mage.
Of course you need to know what you are doing before messing around with unorthodox positioning.
For a normal player, just stick to a frontline of knights + fighters and a backline of a mage + priest + bow thief.

Level limit increase, the boss is a skeleton so you want to have undead bane weapons or 3x mages + priest.
Grade up takes tags which can only be gotten through weekly quests, dismissing chars, and paid(?).
You can eventually farm infinite bones of named non-legendary adventurers from the mausoleum which leads to infinite tags.

Where to farm infinite bones, you need a good level 30+ team though, preferably with a Adam, Yeka, and/or Alice for their 1 time per battle nuke spells.
There's an unavoidable -45 fortitude trap at the start.
>earth den
Drops iron ores needed for +5~+9 and rarer ones needed for +10~+14. Also drops earth weapons useful in the next story dungeon.
>get back in the dungeon and rescue the king (for reals this time)
Next part of the story, it's recommended to do this until you hit a wall then head to earth den or grade exam if you need the extra stats.
