It’s so fucking good. I can’t believe how good this game is. It just keeps getting better. $0 spent so far. All day and all night with this game.

It’s GOTY. I play all the notable videogames in all genres and this is GOTY. The only competition it has now is Path of Exile II (reportedly launching with only half the campaign, kind of a buzzkill) and Stalker 2. UFO 50 is honorable mention.

I didn’t play FF7 Rebirth but I don’t like how easy Squenix games are.

AoE spells, specially Water since the gobs he summons are fire.
Priest with Mareis(Turn undead) for the skellies
Give fireball scrolls to your backrow to keep damage up at all times.
Abuse buffs, debuffs, use Undead Bane weapons.

It requires you to put the most effort but its doable.

Yeah it feels like an actual game instead of just a gacha kusoge. Gives strong Etrian Odyssey vibes, just with less content. I hope they can follow it up with new areas/classes/enemies in the upcoming patches and not just release gacha bait.

Level 1s can't die. When they die, in the starter dungeon at least, they just revive when you leave. This means when you're farming XP for them, you're better off just leaving them at level 1 until they hit level 20.

Also, you can't rank up a level 1, so there's no reason to bring one into the rank up quest. Level them to 20 first, then do the rank up quest, then dismiss them for the tags. No names give you 1 tag, named SRs give you 2, 1 crappy and 1 good one. I assume SSRs give you 3 but I haven't checked the distribution, or what happens if you dismiss a level 30-40.

I highly recommend saving up some bank. A lot of things are going to open up and you're gonna be starved for gold for a bit. The thing is in NG+, chests won't scale to your level but enemy drops will so that'll be your main source of income until you get back to the middle floors

The current best grind I can see is using a speedy mage with the nuke to clear entire B7F waves on the first turn. So the backrow level 1s don't get hit, most of the time. If they do, it's not that difficult to just leave the dungeon and come back to bring them back to life, even at 0 fortitude.

Current XP farm method.

Rough estimate of 5-7k per run, a run takes about 2 minutes. At 70k to level to 20, it takes maybe an hour to level up to 4 guys. Can also be used for levelling the class change.

Requirements:
Fast mage with a nuke. My Adam is currently at a speed of 39, and he outspeeds everything on the floor.
B7F access with restored floor.

The loop is pretty easy, you just run in, go to the fountain, then kill enemies on the way to the teleporter, rinse, repeat. The farm sucks for gold and items, though.

Anyone knows how to activate this teleporter on B1F? I walk on it but nothing happens and they don't comment on it.
Also how the fuck I save the dudes on B4F? I managed to savethe knights and Vernant from the cave in and Elmon, she free him but he still dies and there is an implication that you can save him.
And apparently you can give Albano a satchel but he doesn't accept the inn one but it's definitely an hint for something

Having a second team with a 100/90 fortitude backup is so fucking good; being able to class change a character means you can have 2 versions of the character to fill up any party composition of your choice without having to paypig every time you want to do it as well. Alright, so thinking about it, I guess you're better off burning no-names over named adventurers for rank ups.

You get 3 base tags per week. Right now I've burned 3 named adventurers, so I have 3 level 20 tags and 3 level 30 tags. I guess the next 3 I burn should be no-names, to get me 6 level 30 tags.

The biggest problem with this system is how expensive it is in the long run. I assume they're going to start handing out better tags for free, otherwise you're going to need to burn every bone you get. Anyone know what the return is on level 30-40 characters if you try and dismiss them, for both SSRs and SRs? I don't have any yet, I'm still farming guild tags.

The quest to retrieve ore for that merchant is actually his uncle, and he'll give you a letter to get Albano to go back. But I think it's a trap if you rat him out to the commander, I'll probably be finding that out soon enough.

The teleporter is active when you time travel all the way to your initial awakening literally right after you meet Lulunarde and repair the guardian shrine.
It leads to a watery area with a statue spewing water that blocks the next part though, so it looks like some secret that requires more hand powers.

yeah, but that character won't be at 100 fortitude all the time, and you don't wanna risk him at less than 50. You also can have him/her at a different profession for more versatility.
Later dungeons WILL kill your units yes or yes. Fortitude not letting you play your favorite characters is a big factor as the game progresses.

Still won't matter at all. A unit stuck at 20 or 30 is still better than having no character at all. You will have your characters at low fortitude YES OR YES, be it by dying (that will happen no matter) or by traps; holy, these damn traps become vicious.

A unit stuck at 20 or 30 is near worthless. You get 3 opportunities to avoid fortitude loss a day, realistically 6 given your timezone. If you're still bad enough to be losing 50+ fortitude per day, you should give up, the game isn't for you.

Stat bonuses they get for consuming a dupe. So for dupes you get a choice between just keeping a second copy, consuming them for inherit skill, consuming them for discipline, or dismissing them for additional guild tags.

You need to get the heat shields for the defenders.
Do the Princesses quest to insure Elmon gets summoned back before the first Warped One encounter.
Travel back again after the First Warped One encounter when you've unlocked the time travel feature, to tell the Defenders to move up over the Skrimishers so your skirmishers live.
Give Vernant his hew sabatons
During the trap, you need to let Elmon die by listening to Lulu and select the option telling the Knight it was your orders, this will get you sent back to town and unlock the time travel feature.
Return back to that point and send Elmont again with the Skirmishers alive, this should keep Maurice alive. It at least did on my playthrough
Albino needs a specific item iirc, haven't found which and the Rhodium you need for the Captains shield is found on floor 6, you need 2 pieces for the Dwarf.

The shields primary use is so the Defenders don't get squashed during the cave in. I think you should be able to use the time travel feature when unlocked to just plop back to before the Warped One fight and send the Defenders forward?

I've seen them use "Insta-kill" too, but it's the same thing. Just an inconsistency in translation.

Yeah. That's probably a localization artifact. Remembrer Wizardry was originally an American series that got localized to japan, then japan bought it and localized it back. So they probably have different words for everything over there, but the english version has to be consistent with the original american releases or it'll be confusing.

This is true, setting up frontline tank to taunt and defend against boss/giga mob autoattack so you get the "weak spot revealed" status on that monster.
Then load up giga attack against him and enjoy big numbers.

Item management is really tedious. It's hard to separate groups out into items that will be useful later because you need them to +5 your other shit, and items that are junk and need selling but they're 3 star greens or something. It needs a "sell everything I don't have a copy of equipped" button.

I still need to do some quests but at this point I want to move on already. I got help up by rerolling after starting day 1. I keep seeing people get farther ahead and it's giving me fomo since i wanted to take my time. It looks like the game is huge but I wonder where the wall is.

I think having extra buff duration is pretty awesome in boss fights, saving one MP per spell is huge too, but moreso for long endurance dungeon dives
So far I'd rather be optimized for hard fights, so far no individual dungeon floor is too huge to traverse considering the rest spots and fast travel statues

If you went full piety Alice, you are bricked.
If you went full vit Lana, you are bricked.
Those stats will be useless for the class change. Maxing out speed is the only viable stat.

At level 30 your characters already have 40 points in their main stats and at most it's just a 5 point difference (5 vs 10), sure it's neat for the early game and if you pump it into a stat the character normally sucks like Vit for mages it can make some small difference, but it'll be negligible later on

How do I get the last group of zealots on B6F? I had already cleared the 6 bust puzzle long ago, and so far every zealot was in the puzzle fail area, so I am guessing I need to fail this to get to them.

Also, thieves have no use for Luck. Detect is IQ based, disarm is Dex based, and bows are Strength+ if you want to use them. So it should be Dex/Spd/Str or something.

Luck is used for a bunch of skill effects. Like Counter Attack for dodge-tanks or Follow Up Attack for your two-handed fighters. Etc.
But otherwise? Who knows really. Luck has had different effects across the franchise.

You unlock the mausoleum which is like a daily dungeon where you can get bones from a selected class (apparently you can also get unlucky and only get some loot, not entirely sure how it really works)

For anyone curious, I went through the secret portal on B1F. It doesn't lead anywhere useful, even with the power to turn off water statues. The following teleporter is just for show, it doesn't work yet.

I assume this is endgame content, after you retrieve all your powers you go through a little gauntlet where you use them all in turn to prove that you're a time travelling god, and then the final dungeon opens up or something.

Because of the harken. Help info says that when you unlock a major/great harken, if you die on that floor or anything earlier you get a free revive when you return, also MC doesn't need to spend flames.
I think 3 candles means it's a minor harken and won't give free revives, everything else will.

Once you beat that boss, your farming opportunities gets limited for a while.
You might want to grind some undead bane weapons as well, later on, the quest to increase level limit features an undead boss so your physical damage dealers suffer.

That's how you do all the legendaries. They're still good with shit bonus points, but when you get a GOOD bonus point roll you merge it with the one you've been using.

Debra is top tier according to day 1 japs, and day 1 japs are complete fucking retards and every single time they say "this is the best character" they turn out to be the worst. Her SP recovery is near useless because she'll rarely kill anything anyway, and thieves have insane SP to begin with, my Amelia never runs out.

Adam is top tier. Dwarf is good tier. Lana is okay tier (good early game).

If you don't need their skill inheritance I'd say it's still decent for the middle tier (named but not SSR), not like dupes have much use if their skill isn't very desirable, and the stat increase seemed a bit more substantial as well
In the case of generics it's probably just much better to use them as tag fodder later on
I was mainly interested if this might have been a way to pump my generic waifu up to SSR levels, but that will remain a dream

I don't think there are damage type for physical weapons in the game, it's all physical.
Skeletons take 1/2 damage from physical attacks so using hammers and maces won't help. The floors they are found on also drop undead bane weapons so just suffer a bit.
You could also just have more mages/priests.

Magic is your best bet
Just teleport to the end of F5 and pick up the chests at the first part of F6
Then teleport to F7 and get the chests in there
In the meantime try to kill some the skeletons
Return to the city and repeat
After 10 times or so you'll have a couple of Undead Bane weapons

the first wave is pretty easy but you have to actively debuff and heal
probably like 3~5 mins per clear

I jumped into it, it's 2 rows of undead/swords and a third row of demons I haven't seen yet. Nuke almost killed off the first 2 rows, the demons then jumped forward and did 150 damage each to my MC.

It's a doable round, but this is a shit farm. Maybe at level 50 or with a full speed team designed for it it could be worth it for the 4k gold reward, but the XP is mediocre, I can run through 3 B7F fights with nukes in half the time for the same XP as round 1.

The BEST strat is probably two front row knights with Axes of Undead Slaying, one mage, and two priests. The mage nukes the adds, the knights take out any adds the mage can't nuke in one turn, and the priests bombard the boss with BADIOS as much as possible.

You have to take them through the rank up quest. Named adventurers give 1 regular tag and one 30-40 tag if they're above level 20. Unnamed ones only give you the 30-40 tag, and that'll compound for 40-50. Lots of units you've got to dismiss to level up.

It's a simple invite system, you can only use one code and it doesn't disable your own code so it's always worth using somebody's, I can't remember what you get but it might just be some gold, maybe a small amount of gems?
The reason people post them is a) autism and b) because the rewards max out after 5 people do a selection of simple tasks and gives the code's owner gems.

alright i think the way the mausoleum actually works is some chests just have bones some don't. But you can revisit the same mausoleum as many times as you have fortitude for and maybe get bones. i got two mage bones in two trips with death god's blessing, but i'm thinking death god's blessing isn't meta because you should be able to just farm infinitely with a 0 fort generic party.

You can open one chest per run normally, you can pay 100 gems to open 3 chests per run, and pay another 100 gems to get the guide to make you immune to instant death. But given that it doesn't lock you out at 0 fortitude, it seems like a waste of gems once you're high enough level to blast through it.

It's not even amazing for that since you can get the same thing from the gacha for 2000gems/11 rolls, so ~180 gems each
Buying them here gets you potentially fodder for 100 gems each if you're lucky; but you can get dogshit Bronze-gear that was already bad 10+ levels ago. Dunno if anyone has done it enough to get decent data on it (considering it was bugged for the first week). But you're probably paying for closer to ~150 gems per fodder.
At that point just buy the bones for ~180 each but with the chance for Legendaries

Also, it seems like each wing of the dungeon has 3 doors and the bone is in one of those 3 doors. So theoretically if you have death god's blessing (and aren't too weak to do it), you'd head to a different wing after getting the bone if you still have doors left.

Not him but, if you play normally until you NG clear by the time you reach the boss again you'll be 30 or bare min 29 without farming.
Average mob gives like 2k exp and the bigger ones dish out like 4k so it isn't much of a problem.

I think BF7/8 are still the best spots to grind with an AoE mage and going back to rest once you're OOM
I'm not super far into the next dungeon, but the early floors there don't give massive exp and the Den of Earth/Mausoleum aren't great exp spots either

It has an insta kill chance and the first body you encounter is always an ambush so you might just have to eat the death there. Big unlucky if it targets your MC like it did twice with mine. My strat the first time around was to keep it in the back row and pelt it with ranged

You get three revives that recharge whenever your MC falls. It'll reset you a tile right before the battle, there's another option to 'accept your death' but I don't know what that does honestly.
Resetting this way is a little buggy though I think because I've had instances where status effects I've healed recently are applied back to my party and any consumables you've used don't reset with you. It's especially buggy with this bunny quest because the corpses will disappear sometimes so you can't fully complete it

You use the Inherit Skill function in the Training Room and sacrifice a duplicate to level up the skill of another.
Alternatively. There appear to be skill books that give skill EXP. But they're likely going to be event and or paypig exclusive. And there is no saying how often/common those books will be and to what degree they'll be limited. And how many you'll need.

But yeah. That's how. If you get two Lanas you can make her heal go from 12 to 22. Get a third and it can go to 33 etc.

I believe that items that already have the slots unlocked get those slots upgraded when you hit milestones like +5, +10, etc. So weapons with the slots already revealed are objectively better.

Equipment without those slots seems to roll lower in general, so I don't think it's worth starting with an item that might be dogshit. You want a good first, and ideally good second slot. 3 and 4 are just bonuses at this point.

Seems like it alternates between 12 and 10 so which a max level of 7, extrapolating from this would cap at 78, assuming it doesn't increase or diminish on the later levels

If you dismiss them as is, you get starter tags. If you rank them up, you get better tags. No names give only 1 tag, their highest rank. Named give 2 tags, highest and lower. SSRs give 3 tags, but I haven't checked to see what they give if you try and dismiss them, because mine are locked and I'm lazy.

Given tags trade up 2:1, getting rid of adventurers instead might be a better value depending on how much you value adventurers. Given enough time you'll get every tag you need just from weekly quests, though.
