It's not the numbers. It's skills that act as passives and activators, It's the diversity (does frozen orb play any differently to fireball really?), perma unstoppable on a melee is good, skills don't feel like mandatory auto-include on every build, and so on. The class is just better designed for this game.

Reminder that there are currently 3 live methods of duping items in Diablo 4 and Blizzard is only aware of one of them. If you want an AH you didn't play D3 at launch. They removed it for a good reason. There was no loot grind, you just bought everything off the AH. Completely invalidated everything about the game. It wasn't even about the real money, the gold AH was what killed the game.

I was trying crackling energy build but this mechanic seems so out of touch with the current pace of the game, the generated orbs should be instantly applied to the Sorc instead of having to look and walk over them, completely unusable in high difficulties, am I wrong? simple group bug: open highest pit you can open, when you complete a cellar or nm the pits reward is awarded to everyone in the group, including xp, gold etc. can either reset dungeons and have one person reset the pit every time or leave it open forever and just run back and forth between good dungeons and cellars letting them reset. just hit 300 doing this in group

The only thing I regret about this first expansion is that it's not an “oh shit!” moment. The team should have come out swinging with one of the Primes. So, sure, I get it, there's plenty of time and they want to build the hype for Diablo's return, but hey... Most Barb bleed builds were gutted S1. Although, I think there is a build that could exist this season but I haven't gotten the gear yet to test it. Ring of the Ravenous + Brawling skills + the mythic polearm might have legs. There's some lucky hit shenanigans that you could pull with charge and leap considering their really high base lucky hit chance.

This has no place in a Diablo game. Even WoW dungeons require less coordination than this garbage. Also fuck invulnerable boss gimmick or unskippable health transitions like Andariel or Lilith. Even a fucking NMD boss in the expansion has one where it becomes untargettable and does lightning attacks for close to 30 seconds.
THIS NEVER WAS AN ISSUE IN PREVIOUS GAMES

Bad. The idea is great on paper, but the execution was terrible. One builder and one spender with many spenders being worthless was the laziest minimal effort blizzard could do for a new feature. Being unable to combine a range of runes and making runes so weak ruined it as a feature. They should have removed the paragon board and glyphs for an extended rune system.

Kek yeah right. I'm a fully geared weapon throw barb with 4 mythics and it's still shit. T4 is still inefficient to farm and trying to play in the world around other players is beyond miserable because you have no fury generation. It's super slow and clunky when it comes to pushing pits also.

It's just miserable and retarded that basically every class and spec are capped in T3 while spiritborn casually one shot everything in T4 with no gear. We all knew SB would be busted, but the power difference between them and everyone else is colossal and monumental.

I'm paragon 250+ with the retarded OP spiritborn, so I made a barb and druid to play around with different mythics and whatnot. Barb particularly is sad. Druid can probably make it to T4 content.
SB has no caps on paragon boards etc--it's fun to play. Meanwhile they capped the heck out of barb all over the place repeatedly over the past year. Sorc starting to get caps with conjurations. And inevitably, devs are just going to cap SB things going forward. Caps on paragon board nodes, caps on glyphs, caps on skills--just like every other class has been getting. Enjoy SB now while it lasts! And yeah, I'm probably just going to delet barb.

SB is OP because of a single broken node, Viscous Shield. It's scaling of base hp, not max like the tooltip says, so you get a 10,000% bonus and more the more barrier you have. It's why every SB build uses it and why every SB build stacks barrier.
If they fix that one node SB will be on par with every other class.

I think the next xpac will need to focus heavily on the campaign than other content. The way I see it, VoH focused on QoL and endgame content like the Citadel alongside a new class. Currently Quillniggers use Resilience passive ranks instead to scale Viscous Shield even further
When Viscous, Aspect of Interdiction and Aspect of Redirected Force get bug fixed there would no reason to cap Resolve stacks

I hate him so much. He's really the worst. I always hated him because his build videos are retarded where he just has 4+ mythics equipped and treats it like an entry build at the beginning of a season after speed running to max level in 2 hours and immediately getting fed 500 boss summons.
But what really made me hate him is the past 2 seasons where he showed how much of a massive grifter he is. Immediately ditched every other class last season to just play lightning sorc and immediately acts like he's a sorc guy. This season jumps on the spiritborn wagon and immediately acts like he's a spiritborn guy.

In my power fantasy none of my characters are nor will be women. Whenever I see a female character in game it's Lilith's blood affecting my boy's vision. This shit is so dumb i cannot even put it into words or describe it. They have a fucking gap closer on all of their basic skills? Even quill volley has a gap closer? Everything they do is so fast naturally. Their resource generation is crazy just naturally.

Like imagine if a barb was teleporting to the enemy on every single upheaval that could be spammed near indefinitely and had its animation sped up by 3x just as a baseline. I'm laughing my ass off.

What do you think it is about diablo 4 that makes the devs unable to balance? In every season there has been one spec (usually barb) that is orders of magnitude stronger than every other build. In most games, including other blizzard games AND d4, there are always outliers. However those outliers are usually maybe 5-20% better than other builds. How did they get so bad at balance where we are looking at builds that are hundreds of thousands if not millions of times more powerful than anything else? And it's not just this season either, it's every season. Spiritborn is just the worst of this, but it's been nearly as bad in previous seasons.

I kinda don't want to play anymore. I hate the pit and I don't like the higher levels being locked on it.

I made a storm feathers panther mobility build where I zoom across the battlefield and use that block Crit aspect, but I'm not doing hardly enough dmg even tho everything is vulnerable crits. I've done all the tempering and master working but it's apparent I'm gonna have to trash the build I actually like playing for some OP non fun build.

Shit sucks. I like the old system better I don't like endgame shit being 4 separate difficulties.

When the season started, I had constant constant crashes--somehow ray tracing had been auto turned back on. Whatever devs have done for "stability" in the past couple of patches has really helped me and everyone else I game with.

I don't even have any glphs over 0 or socketed properly with my 250 paragon, and I'm just breezing through everything. The main attack darts to enemy, so it's pretty speedy and pretty tanky and just fun all around.

My barb is geared to the teeth with every mythic and a bunch of high core skill rolls and it still only really demolishes T3. T3 is like the cap of every non-spiritborn.
I can kill stuff on T4 no problem but it's just slower and clunkier compared to one shotting T3.

It is. But there is also other classes in T4. All can do Pit 80+ or 90+ and these are 'harder' than T4.

It's because all of the classes and especially barb have been so nerfed over time. The paragon nodes, the passives, the key passives, all nerfs. What did blizz expect?? They need to buff the original classes/go back on all of their nerfs.
The only reason I haven't deleted my barb is because I'm trying to make a point to my fren that spiritborn thorns > barb thorns. Once we test that out in pvp, and spiritborn will win I guarantee it, I'm going to delet barb.

These devs either know exactly what they are doing, or don't understand anything about the game. The first option is they follow the "FOTM" model of balancing. The theory goes that you always buff a new build every so often to keep people interested and playing.
The second option is there is a fundamental disconnect between those that code the game, those in charge of balance, and simple mathematics, with the caveat that they even understand the code in front of them, that it wasn't done by some Indian contractors for the lowest price.

You can build crit and resolve/blockmaxxing without Rod of Kek but that would be retarded.

Any life stacker with a way to get barrier + Viscous Shieldmaxxing will let you crush T4 on any skill. For every 1,200 life you have as barrier you do 100% more damage.

This whole expansion feels like the Blizzard noticed engagement was low so they cranked up the tedious grind to 100. Oh hey you need a certain rune. Good luck gambling at the vendor. You want upgrades, here is a single greater affix from your infernal horde. Whoops it's junk. You want to upgrade your aspects. Farm 50 greater affixes and pray hope they salvage.

Last season I could farm enough to play around with multiple builds. This season I can barely get to torment 4 because the things I need just won't drop.

They cranked up the tedious grind to 100 FOR STREAMERS because every league PoE streamers would go "kek no content" and make Youtube videos about how D4 bad. Now you need to do 60 hours of 90 second pit 110s to hit paragon 300. Now you need to play 1,000 hours to max your aspects or have paypiggies give them to you for free. There's your fucking grind.

The real, actual endgame to Diablo 4 for 99% of gamer dads with 7 jobs is completing everything on t1. I don't even think there are season journey challenges for anything above t1 now (maybe one of them was to get a glyph to 46?) T2+ is for losers only.

The only reason why such heavy RNG works and POE is because there's an expansive trading system and multiple currencies to get what you need. In Diablo 4 you're stuck grinding it all out on your own. Or use some janky ass website with third world botters and dupers. Even they went obscene amounts of gold for everything. It's all a joke.

I'm doing a pestilent swarm build and I haven't looked at any guides/builds but I have a couple questions:
I already level my main dmg skills to max but left all the other filler skills at 1 and just level some passive, should I have done that? or should I level all the skills I have to max?
when doing tempered affixes should I try to get the pestilence swarm dmg or the centipede dmg or just regular dmg? I don't know which one will give me more dps.
is the x'fal ring good for my build or should I use the slot for a damage aspect? I already have a Ring of Writhing Moon and not sure what to use the other slot for.

I only get so many tempered affix rolls before the item is brick (and you only get one reset per scroll per item) so I don't wanna brick an item just to try out the dmg.

I think damage to swarm will give you more bang for your buck, but I ended up swapping from a swarm build to a jacinth shell explosive scourge build because I found my swarm damage falling off.

just get the sapping legendary node and every 3 basic attacks you get 15% of your max vigor, mix that with all your other vigor generating stuff and you get max vigor every few sec, thats what I have in my build.

yeah that's exactly why I was asking here, I got stuck on T2 and my dmg did not go up at all is a really fun build but the dmg is lacking, I'll still keep it though, thanks for all the tips.

I meant more that you should test to get an idea of how often the x'fal's is proccing
but you can also just take the ring off and get an idea of what those stats are actually doing for the build
if you have advanced tooltips enabled it will tell you which affixes are part of the additive damage bucket (+) and then it's really a matter of deciding whether general damage affixes are useful or whether a conditional added damage affix will apply often enough that you can benefit more
most of the aspects are multipliers (x) and are therefore much easier to compare

Nightmare dungeons are literally worthless
Realmwalkers take too long and seething opals are for the most part trash since you are using them to run instances that don't have mobs drop gold/items/etc

So what is even the point of difficulties beyond Torment 1? I have made it to Torment 3 and so far I haven't noticed a single difference other than shit is more tanky and deadly. The drops don't seem to be much better at all. You farm more enemy faster in lower difficulties than the higher ones for the same drop rates.

more exp and enemies do drop better loot, bosses drop 2 uniques on T1, 3 on T2 and so on, the point of it it's than when you get strong enough to one shot everything in one difficulty you move to the next one that has more exp, and better loot.

Why did they think wasting dev time and resources to a multiplayer focused dungeon was a good idea?
I only did this activity because of the mount reward they advertised and I hated how you have to wait for retards to do their part of the "puzzles" or fail at the boss mechanics. Same with rotas being mandatory if you ever want to get geared at a decent pace.
Stop forcing multiplayer, 90% of players play solo.

I feel the itch to play it when I stop playing, but I'm unsure of where to continue. The game has a lot of different activities but I get overwhelmed because I'm unsure of which one to do. The game needs a Leaderboard, and personally I think they need to completely change the loot so that any character can get any item in the game, even for other classes. That way you can trade items you find in a newly-created in-game trade system.

yeah the game is really fun now, as long as you are working towards something you are making progress.

basically anything that can get you power, so I don't get overwhelmed I take turns doing stuff, one day I do infernal hordes and undercity, another day I do bosses and tree of whispers and so on.

season journey should be your top priority, uber lilith is hard as fuck so I doubt you'll be able to do her as soon as you finish the season journey

you also need runes to make mythics now, and legendary runes are bitch to get so unless you get really lucky you won't be getting that tyrael right away

yeah the game doesn't guide you much but the main "endgoal" is uber lilith which I said is hard and see up to what difficulty you can kill her and see if you can get to T4 and see if you can get to max level, the end game is the same as any ARPG, see how far you can go.

they had a leaderboard for the gauntlet but it was disable this season while they work to "improve it" and only time will tell if we get a real trading system going in the game.

I want to play again. What should I do right now? I can do T3, and I need Obducite to masterwork just a little more to get my gear to 8/8 or 8/12. That's small stuff. From my time playing I think the upgrade priority goes:

1.Correct aspects and upgrade Aspect power in codex
2.Leveling up glyphs to 46 and getting paragon levels
3.Finding ancestral/Mythic gear with good stats
4.Temper what you have even if its garbage and Masterwork to at least 4-8
5.runes + Gem

If you want to get stronger then paragon is hands down the biggest boost in power you can get.

best way to get runes is undercity with harmony tribute and torment boss farming, with tormented bosses you also get a chance to get mystics which you can break down for sparks if it's not a mystic you need.

If your T3 hordes are not 1-2 shooting everything, go down to T2.
It scales pretty massive, and 1shooting is usually more Obducite overall

There is no point. The game needs a Leaderboard to really feel like you're spending your time for a purpose at the end game. 300 Paragon takes too long also. I don't know how someone can enjoy this game for more than an hour a day. I play maybe an hour a day and then I want to do something else.

1:Anyone doing (Full) T4 Citadel run I could join for - I literally switch from fun to meta SB build and am breezing to pit level 100s just to get this shit done, I think I'm as prepared as I could be character-wise. And I have today and tomorrow to give it a try.
2:Are you willing to explain the mechanics, I don't mind watching a guide, but all the ones I found are 20+ minutes and generally an average users explains this shit a million times better in a fraction of time than a watch-time based tubelord so if I can skip a ton of preamble that'd be preferable.
3:I'm asking for T4 because mount, obviously, but if you just wanna do T1 I wouldn't have a problem with that.
4:Do we need a mic? I do have one and don't mind using it, I just literally use it once a decade so I need to know if I have to go look for it.

Usually I do about 20 hours per season because I'm pretty stubborn about playing "the way I want" which results in some build that can't really even take out ubers because I'm horseshit at buildcrafting so I only do the season pass and call it quits, but I had PTO and nothing better to do for like 12 weeks following release and I really wanted to do the citadel because transmogs (Before I found out it's not a guaranteed drop but a super low chance) so I ended up switching to the meta build after the campaign and hit the grind hard for it and even then the drops were horseshit, I'm still not capped on ice and shadow resistances, and I can only consistently clear up to pit 100, after pit 110 I'm still struggling, doesn't really help that I don't have any frame of reference for the citadel so I don't even know if I'm ok or underpowered.

most trees are exactly the same and the choices you make are vortex vs soar/turbulence. for paragons I like sanctum for a tanky quills (or hulk) builds, aceofspades for glasscannon builds, i never have luck with the big streamer builds

get a yens or rakanoth w/GA affix on resistance, keep rerolling MW 1-4 until resistances crit 1 time. with gems in jewelry you will be good to go for a long ass fucking time after that if you aren't at cap by now

I think the mount on T4 is guaranteed. The other transmogs are RNG.
Can you dodge helltide meteors? Can you not die to T4 bosses solo? Do you know how to tap people in to revive them? Then you're probably fine for citadel. If you have gear at least 8/12 masterworked, you're probably fine for T4 citadel.
The people who don't belong in T4 citadel are wearing mostly nonancestral gear with maybe 4 masterworks or 0, low affix rolls on important unique things, who die at world boss (can't dodge obvious mechanics). It's not that complicated, but if someone is still hitting for low thousands of damage, then they need to go down in torment.
