>To not forget to grind the ring I literally keep that equipment slot empty
>With this, I one-shot everything in pit level 50
What I'm doing isn't even close to min-maxing, this is bullshit, no wonder T4 is this poorly balanced when you've got zero effort builds like this melting everything while focusing on a specific aspect you like just gets you fucked in the ass.

I have been starting Dark Citadel parties and then asking them to equip the Fell Maven Pit 150 title. If they don't have it they get a swift instant kick. I don't need to play with noobs. Party finder + titles is amazing in this game for filtering trash players.

you dont finish the path from someones meta build, you get the legendary node then you get the glyph node then you activate all 5 glyphs then you do a paragon board search for what youre missing (crit, res, whatever) and move points there, think for yourself

It's not like you have to perma switch to it, but even with the most generic aspect-swapped gear you can do this shit, unlock torment levels, then just go back to your old build and grow it.

Is 2k the maximum armor now?
It says 1000 provides the maximum reduction, but Torment IV reduces armor by 1000, so should I have 2k armor if I plan to max at Torment IV?
Or is the reduction already precalculated in my character display and I still only really need 1000?

the reduction is already taken into account on the character display, it works the same as with resistances
in torment iv you need 2000 in total from armor and paragon nodes etc but having 1000 on the character sheet will give you the maximum phys resist

I was checking r*ddit and some clown was insisting Incinerate was viable in torment 4 and he could clear Pit 60 with ease.
He showed his build and the motherfucker had 3 ancestral mythics. Negro almost any build can clear pit 60 if you brute force it and arm yourself to the teeth with 3 mythics. Doesn;t change the fact that incinerate sucks in Torment 3+ and LS or Fireball equipped with the same uber uniques can probably clear 90 minimum.

Yeah unavoidable in the aspect that I have to stack stats in a pointless meme-y blizzard tier hacky gear check because there's no other way to resolve the mechanic of the blood boils popping without stacking armor.
It's fucking stupid and the anthesis of an arpg where the game was built to dodge everything. I get having checks for damage for content/progression, but checking my armor stats in a system where they provide torments which do the literal opposite of what they demand you have so you have to waste itemization on having to survive or rework your build to have a gimmick survivability/invuln skill when it's not absolutely needed outside of this specific instance.

Still shit design. I know the solution, but it's shit design as mentioned above. Don't know why you would defend lame shit like that.

Also, you're wrong that it will always one shot you. I literally just stacked armor and I lived through the boil bullshit. 850 armor was enough to survive it. The mechanic is literally nothing more than either a stat check or a build check to have an invuln which are both fucking stupid in a game where the point is "YOUR CHOICE MATTERS AND YOUR BUILD CAN BE ANYTHING!!"

The orbs aren't the problem, it's the shit just before the orbs spawn. The 4 boils that spawn, grow, and then do a stupid amount of damage on burst. Dodging the orbs are reasonable enough to be blunt, I can dodge those, it's not hard to thread those orbs.

I had to get an Ancestral weapon before I could carry on to T2. I needed to do a lot of finagling with my gear in order to get there, but once I got to T2 I felt better about the game. You have to get an Ancestral weapon with GA on the Damage % OR the Uniques required for your build in order to make it work. You have to keep upgrading and if you run into a wall with your gear, I recommend getting the Opal of Equipment from Realmwalkers and doing NMDs, or alternatively Helltides in T1 until you get your Ancestral weapon. Also, go to the bosses and get your Uniques if you run into a wall.

I love Diablo 2 and all its clunkiness to this day simply because of the systems. It has incredible depth, which sadly has been explored fully by websites.

I want a game that goes like this again, with a brand new exploratory gameplay, and PoE2 will satisfy this for me.

But yeah, I'm playing D2R and I'll come back to D4 when I wake up. I kind of hit a wall where I need to grind for Ancestrals in order to make any progress after I just made progress getting Glyph levels.

That's the problem this game (D4) has. It constantly walls you with needing to do something over and over until you get something you need. D2R just lets you choose any class and farm any area or boss until you finally get what you really wanted. D4 is more random and less expected to get what you want. You need to be able to come up with target farm calculators in order to enjoy D4, so the gameplay needs to be able to get the items you need from any particular enemy or area.

Do the mercs even do anything worthwhile other than Subo? Supposedly Raheir buffs survivability but I don't feel like it makes any difference and yes I do play in T4. Subo on the other hand revealing packs and harvest nodes on the map notably improves clear times and helps ensure I'm always increasing my pool of materials. I'm just going to keep using Subo

Just play necro bro. Companion is a afterthought, and to be blunt so is summon necro as well, but they have enough bare basic support to easily burst bosses in t2 and climbing.

Blizzard can't create a centric pure summon build - even on necro my basic and core skills have ZERO affiliation with my summon shit and don't scale for shit on ANYTHING. They are tits on a bull and I literally only use blight to group enemies together to keep them the fuck away from me at this point.
Corpse explosion should have been a core skill, and given a legendary trait that changes corpse explosion to become a suicide animated skeleton that now has the minion tag and benefits from skeleton mage scaling. Decompose is fine since it's a corpse generator, would be nice if it scaled so it did do any damage past t1 but if I had a spender that was valid it would make the build 80x more effective and useful.

Just to give an insight on how foolish it is to hope for a fun pet build in d4 it seems.

I'm in T2 with my minion necromancer, and it's currently a walk. The main issue with the minion build isn't damage output. The real difficult thing about the playstyle is target focus since the minions only have the most basic of AI and don't prioritize targets whatsoever - they'll just keep attacking the defense buffed mobs, and will never go after the one with the aura for example.

You could try, I'm not entirely sure how thorns interacts with minion damage % or any of that scaling.
I know there's a trait that allows you to push thorns damage through your minions as well, but I don't think minions themselves give thorns damage. So I'm not sure if that means you gotta get hit purely yourself to distribute the punishment or what.
I wouldn't hold your breath on something amazing, the support is super thin for thorns.

My same experience, this is why I use blight to group them all together. With that unique ring that makes them do AoE attacks after so many hits, it's bound to die with like 10+ skeletons wailing on the small pack of things.

As far as I know, thorns is fully inherited by your minions now with tempering to further boost how much thorns they get. Add in Razorplate and the aspect to proc thorns all around your source and it should work. The real issue is that there's nothing, NOTHING in the entire skill tree that supports this playstyle. The fuck am I supposed to pair the thorns with? Blood Surge? Seems like a case where ditching the thorns and just building dmg would just be better overall.

That's why I say it's thin and not with confidence that it will bring you into like t4 desu. The lack of scaling support concerns me from this level and from a paragon board level as well. It might be wasted effort, but if you're willing to invest and fuck around and find out, I think it might be about to do t2 easy enough anyways. Minions might be your best bet just because the multiplicative burst of thorns from your skeles really scales that up super high than anything you could do by yourself.

Pop any elixir, pop any opal, (Optionally pop any incense) go into a helltide and kill shit for like 40~ minutes to get to around level 43. Do all the strongholds because each one guarantees a level and a half of EXP.
You're done.
Even if you're the most casual fucker on the planet it shouldn't take you more than a few hours to do it depending on how long it takes to do strongholds. Prioritize events and maiden while in helltide.

Enemy DOT is insane. Player DOT, not so much.
I've been playing around with the shattered vow, and honestly it might even be worse than the spear of salvage. DOTs can't crit. Apparently attack speed increases the tic rate fwiw. Druid DOT is lacking. Barbarian is the only one that can make it work with all the bleed--but even then it isn't the best mechanic to make use of when the other skills that have nothing to do with bleed do so much more. OP spiritborn class can do poison damage, but they don't really have a huge DOT ability either--they're just making use of straight up poison.
Idk we'll see how far I can take these DOT chars before I give up.

So it's a numbers game over quality. I'm absolutely dropping my Army of the dead aspect for this shit, I'll give myself defensive shit on my legs and call it day desu. Should make my life easier, even if I lose out on a bigger burst in AOTD.

That cooldown gets reduced to nothing though, so you can keep spamming the wolves. BUT the wolves will dart to the one target while everything else is swarming around you, CCing you and DoTing you.
Idk it's kind of fun and goofy to have some kind of meme wolf farmer build like that, but you just have to set your expectations realistically for what you'll be able to do with it. 10/10 recommend goofy builds for alts--cause why not.

Thanks, seems in practice it works well. I beat Pit 65 just by switching to it, was struggling before with my sorc due to lack of damage. Cooldowns are barely impacted thanks to ice blades.

I've been working on DoT druid with werewolves, rabies, poison creeper, wolf core skill, etc. The DoT is kind of disappointing. I might just try to do something more along the lines of full up companions to spark joy. Anyway, I'll at least add ravens to my skill bar now while I keep working on it. It is kind of fun to see a bunch of EXECUTED up on my screen.

Homebrew bros, I just used d4-paragon.com to make efficient pathing for my build, and it is pretty sweet. Link should be added to the next thread desu.
Just use the maxroll planner paragon board and click the nodes and glyphs and boards that you want--the paragon AI will make the most efficient pathing between all of them. EZPZ

The best items those that help you when you need them. Where I am now with my quill volley build, and I'm basically following maxroll for it, I would use that in a heartbeat. Some people want to lean into banished lords but it isn't necessary to get insane damage and spiritborn isn't really dependent on necklace. So yeah, I'd use it. Of course tyraels is better though. The other good thing about that necklace is that a lot of rogues can just take the raw essence gen and it doesn't really have anything you'd feel bad about hitting in your tempers, so you wouldn't really waste resources on it.

I wasn't kidding. I spent the last hour figuring out what the fuck happend to it. It's not just gone from people's inventories, it's been removed from the game files completely, cut from the wiki, no threads or articles mention it.
There are are a total of 4 mentions of it on the entire internet.
An unupdated wiki page on season 4 mentions it as one of the drops from the seasonal story boss.
A 12 day old thread on blizzard support forums with a bunch of people saying theirs is gone.
And the two youtube videos, oen specifically showing it, and one showing the boss fight and then showing it off at the end because it dropped from the boss.
All other traces of it have been scrubbed and yes, it's probably because it's a woman's head because none of the other heads were touched.

My main goal is to get my Spiritborn through to torment 4 and use them as a character that can farm up mats for other characters. I then want to roll a new class.

I love the power fantasy of the Spiritborn. I don't want to say "oh nerf it," but this season the Spiritborn is basically too attractive to play as if you are trying to maximize your time spent (I can get a couple of hours on the weekend right now).

Other characters are very strong! Rogues and Sorcerers are still also crazy good at going from leveling to endgame. But this season is absolutely the Spiritborn season.

I do want to roll a barbarian for the first time ever. Are barbs good?

leveling as a barb is such a drag. you will pretty much auto-attack one enemy at a time until you are into your first 50-100 paragon levels. for some weird reason they also removed barbs inherit defensive bonus, so now they are less tanky than a sorc or a rogue. since movement speed is capped at a very low value (100%), they dont even move around faster than other classes. the difference between a spiritborn and a barb in terms of damage is unironically and literally something like 10000% or more.

Not sure what you mean with Uber bosses, unless you just mean ladder bosses on Torment 4. I run them with the summon item season buff and they often drop other summon parts and Tribute of Titans. Once I run out of mats, I run the Tributes, then back to bosses.

Because it is. D3 diverged so much from the d2 formula it can hardly be considered the same game. Same with d4. It mainly has to do with itemization, skill balance, and theme. D3 was this washed out, cartoons, casual fiesta that had little to do with the darker, more numbers focused origins of d2. And d4 is even worse in that regard, dumbing down player choices to specific set paths and skills with almost no nuance. There's hardly a game to be found in d4 no magic find, no significant trading, no interesting items, just a number bloat system like d3. It's atrocious really

Diablo4 is without doubt the arpg that combines the best gameplay with the best storyplay. Every class and build is viable, and the variety of ways to approach content is immense.

Mighty Throw is entirely based around Overpowers.
Overpower damage now scales very, very well with anything that gives you a lot of max life.
Doombringer can absolute truckload of max life, especially on Barb because they can already stack Health pretty easily. That’s pretty much it.

I am paragon 240. All bis mythics, gear is full with 1-2 ga legs and 12/12 upgrades and yet most if not all of my aspects are 16/21. I doubt I get half of them to 21 even if I played all the way to 300.

whats your definition of fun? I can speed farm pit90's while holding down a single button. The skill itself auto aims while moving and dash in itself seems to outperform running even at 200% ms. Its technically not possible to have a faster clear than on this build.

If you are looking for magic/rare tunes, run Undercity with Tribute of Harmony
If you are looking for Rare/Legendary runes, then run Tormented Bosses, particularly Andy/Duriel.
Also if you have an Opal of Socketables from the seasonal shit, running NMD’s with that on is also a good idea.
