What the hell do you do with the statues on B6F? No combination of broken and unbroken seems to change the portal at all. The corpse in the room made me think that maybe some of the statues would have elf ears or something, but they're all the exact same statue. Did I miss a trigger somewhere?

All you have to do is wait for fortitude to replenish and as far as we know it's a guaranteed resurrection. You literally should never lose any character period.

you need 3 warriors as meat shields it feels like, then a healer, then a mage, then a thief. i guess maybe if they have smoke bombs or knockout gas they can replace a mage?

party composition seems too punishing to seriously fuck around. at most you might add EVEN MORE fucking warriors with polearms from the backline.

Im checking the higher lvl passives and skills and there's... Nothing really interesting? You get some stats and nothingburger skills. Just look at Alice, she gets so many "cure this one debuff" spells, nothing groundbreaking or unique.

If I recall right, the stars represent 'potential' for if you enhance it. IE. higher stars will get better bonuses at the 5/10/15/20 I assume

And those are actually skills that every priest gets. The only thing unique to her are the two unique passive skills and the exclusive aoe spell. Technically, the discipline is also "unique" but it's the worded the same way as every other character, just affecting two different stats (literally an additional +1 point to those if it's not HP at level 1)

The first grade exam is wild. The enemy parties in the dungeon can have like 12 undeads at once, and the boss is a huge undead that oneshots my level 20 Lana. And he can call for allies every few turns.
I'm probably too undergeared, but I've literally only ever found one iron piece of equipment and all the anti-undead stuff I have sucks.

the rarest ones have a gold background, they have a unique trait(that you can actually sacrifice them for and shove in another unit)
the generics dont talk and have names like elf-mag.
everything else thats named without the gold border is normal.

shoving dupes into themselfs to limit break is a thing and you can make really powerful generics easily

Discipline not being shared between regular and warrior princess Lanavaille is a mistake, IMO. Especially if they make alternative variant a limited, so you can't boost discipline skill further (for the alt) once banner is over.

Fuck bros, I succeeded in getting my account back but damn was it worrying at times. My machine falsely copied the password at first and mistook an "l" for a capital "i". Then I had to re enter the password half a dozen times before the game actually logged me into it instead of making a new account.

How much xp should I grind at red spinner? if you stay at lvl 7 its 120 xp per run, doing that 750 times (I don't recommend actually doing this but it is possible) would theoretically max out a character.
Normally I would never bother with sweaty grinding like this, but A: this game has fucking permadeath even if it's very unlikely, and B: it takes like 10 seconds to auto the fight and can be done while watching TV or something else.

you can't even say autistically resetting and grinding an early mob to level is against the spirit of Wizardry

Later on you get rare mobs that give you 2500 XP a pop, and it's not too difficult to grind the later floors while using auto-move between chests, and chests are the big limiter in terms of progress, because they give you gear.

I think it's around 14-20k. Level 20 requires 69,000 XP.

The problem is once you hit about level 10 the cap takes you down to 61 XP a run, so you have to abuse the fountain instead, which is a little hard to run back to at such a low level, and kind of a waste of time.

Gear is more important than level. And the game rewards playing cautiously.

Honestly, some of these fights are brutal. Rank up quest was unreal, I had to land 3 revives and that was with a properly equipped party, if you don't bring anti-undead stuff you're just fucked.

You don't have to level up. Lanaville heals the entire party for more damage than the spinner is capable of doing to you if you stay at level 7. just walk in and out over and over again at level 7. the XP diminishing returns never kick in if you never level.

Literally none atm. Friends list serves no purpose.

You can pull generic characters with no voice, standard voiced characters and legendary characters with unique skills
You can allocate stats when you first register a character and then its random level up gains after that.
Stat allocation is largely irrelevent if you just pick the class's main stat + some vit or dex depending on what class they are

You gacha for characters, from low rarity generics to high rarities with somewhat better passive abilities. Beyond that, it's just a Wizardry game.
Social aspects at the moment are pretty non-existant, in a lot of ways it feels like everything other than the core game and story has had all the extra shit tacked on and they're still fleshing it out.

When you play the game, you can find (or buy for in-game or irl currency) remains of adventurers and bring them back to life at certain place. You roll for characters like regular gacha. They have predetermined base stats, class, race, alignment and element. They also get random number of bonus stats (5-10). When you register rolled character in adventurer guild, you can rename them and allocate bonus stats manually however you want.

You lied to me mf, the teleporter is after a 2 warped boss fight and no fucking heals before that.
The fact that you also have to walk into poisoned floor alongside having to go trought an entire floor just to fight that mf is a huge fuck you to the player.

But defense in general seems to be subtractive not some % reduction, so one high number getting reduced by defense once can end up higher than two medium numbers reduced twice

Problem is to get an item to max reinforcement level you need like 8 dupes of it and you won't be able to get 8 dupes of a 0.1% drop.

The whole reinforcement system is kind of retarded right now because all rare drops are useless, the best items are the crap you buy in the shop because then you can easily get dupes and reinforce them to max eventually.

If you save until next banner it should be fine. They aren't giving out many free rolls in this game anyways. Maybe it will come in raw pulls from events like Nikke does. I rerolled and went from 2 Legendaries to 4 and just that has made the game immensely easier.

It takes even more time if you want to be super optimal since you have to reroll your stats and do the questionnaire over and over again to get the stats you want.
Luckily it's not completely random stats and there are presets that the game randomly chooses amongst them, so getting exactly what you want won't take hours. But every preset has a lucky version that is the exact same as the normal one only with 1 extra luck point. So that's even more rerolling for you to get that.

You can transfer the + from one item to another, so generally it's a safe bet.
You can move it from a white item to a green one, or from 1* to 2* one, etc, but I assume bronze to steel doesn't work since their upgrade costs are different.

So not only do you need two same name items to limit break your gear, they ALSO need to have the same limit break cap.

So to limit break a weapon the first time it's 2 of the same weapon, then you'll need 4 of the same weapon for second uncap, then 8 for third uncap and 16 for fourth uncap.

So you need a total of 30 dupes to get a single item to max reinforcement. That's pretty crazy.

I've gotten the encounter bug,
Enemy's turn in combat, but none of them are attacking, I can't interact with anything other then the fast forward button.

Rebooting the game, and the most recent patch hasn't fixed it. I don't suppose anyone here has a clue?

You can open the path from the second poison to the heal, which means you can fairly easily get to the boss with full everything. Every enemy on the way can be dodged, they're really easy to kite.

Since I use Lana on my front row, will it be better to swap out one of the mages with Priest then put a (Good-Neutral) Fighter on the frontlines? Anons told me double mage parties were bad, but I don't see why since that means permanent debuffs and huge burst damage.

This is because the initial abyss you spawn in for the tutorial isn't actually the same abyss as the one you come back to.

Wizardry Gaiden IV: Throb of the Demon's Heart is a Japanese spinoff that has a bunch of the mechanical ideas of 6-8 but the dungeon crawling of 1-5. It's a much easier experience than a lot of the earlier entries, and although it's a dungeon crawler, is more focused on puzzles, NPC interaction and making choices within the dungeon.

Overall, it's just okay, but it might be what you're looking for.

I can confirm it's possible to get two turns on your Thief if you use priest speed buff on her, but it only worked on the last turn of the buff for me.

From what I've gathered there's always a set of pre-set things certain characters want you see you say, or do.
The adventure guy in my experience always gives me 200 gold in trade for a spare herb, the Goblin on a later floor gives me a pebble in trade for a rusty coin.
The wandering Dwarf is the one so far that's asked for multiple different items, such as an Elixir, or anti-toxin

His NG+ version is the strongest boss so far I'd say, harder than the rank up boss even. He practically doesn't waste turns and hurts your party real badly, one of his skills oneshot two of my members. Latter half of the fight just turns into a damage race before you run out of healing and revives.

Yeah, on NG+ you need to meet the disguised princess in town then accept her request at the guild, then collect the three things at the dungeon entrance and when you turn in the request pick IIRC the top option that appears, then when you restore the haken you'll have the option to send Elmon away to hang out with the princess.

Just realized this came out, had a few questions;
Should I be using the bonus stats on the ones that most benefit a units starting class or the ones the benefit the race most? do you have to pay currencies to class change?
Is there a way to see actual numbers on passives? The princess knight has a passive that increases dmg dealt when used with a full good/neutral party but I have no idea how much that actually buffs
Is there a limit to how much you can upgrade a unit with dupes? I saw there was like packs of 20 princess bones in the shop
Should I spend my freebie green gems on any of the timed bundles like the princess bones pack?

And yeah you need to decline the item, it's the top option that appears I think it's the one that will make the princess tell you to order Elmon to meet her. I think what you fucked up is that you have to restore the Haken at B1F first before going to the end of the floor, otherwise Elmon will get hurt and die later on.

As far as I can tell it's like a preview of late game spells you can use once per combat for a big MP cost, like Adam has a light AoE that's about double the power of his regular light spell, so decent for some emergencies or sweeping difficult quest battles, but ultimately very expensive for what it is

They stack, but the passive itself is legit +1 to stat for each level the skills is and they both cap at 6 after hefty investment. A nice min/max, but honestly the sheer amount of dupes you'll be tossing into the grinder for 12 stat points isn't going to be worth it over other things.

They are weak essentially to anything magic related, if you find junk from this level and onward you should also get weapons with the "undead bane" trait that gives them bonus damage against them.

She's a better buffer (though you could just eat her to get the +1 duration) and she has an evil/neutral row buff passive. Nothing crazy but it's not like priests are especially interesting but you still kinda need them on hard content.
Personally I think she has a shit personality, is genuinely evil and the satan voice rattles my nerves. Not worth it when you have cutie priests readily available. Can't wait for an alternative legendary priest.

i honestly think the SSR units are a bait. its better to invest in SRs since you get more dupes for them meaning more stats and more chances at a +9/+10 base stat bonus, and then you can just transfer the SSR skills to the SRs if you get any.

For example a Gandolfo with +10 base stats and 4 dupes is going to do way more damage than a +5 stat 0 dupe Gerulf, and his skills cost less SP too due to his passive.

Sorta feeling the same.

Like I think the play is to pick lanavaille from the selection and inherit her heal-after-battle passive onto the main character, since the MC must always be in the party anyway. Then go in with a bunch of general/anon adventurers.

I think that's true for some cases, but some skills are shit when transferred off their unique unit like Lanaivilles
Although I think it's pretty cool that there's seemingly no big power gap between the rarity tiers, only some convenient skills you don't 100% need just to get through the dungeon

Enhance to +20 for cheap (relatively) to get the stat bonuses, then extract the stat bonuses so you can use them on good weapons.

They are if you sit there and let them charge or can't kill it before it does. This can happen in large groups, but after level 5 - 7, they become less scary.

Theoretically we can level up the skill normally at that point (except I think skill training is bugged) and max it out at very great expense where it will then be equivalent to Lana's...at Lv1

Trying to actually get your characters killed is crazy hard. 1st one took 3 tries to die at 0 morale. The other 2 still aren't dead after 4 tries each.

you get their tags when they perma which is needed to ascend past Lv20 cap, otherwise we only get those tags dripfed to us via weeklies

the hell am I supposed to do at the teleporter puzzle where the corpse says "the light shines above"
I tried all teleporters and I don't really see any lights above or anywhere near the doors, there's torches, but every door has one near it but none are any higher up than others
