Really they just misjudged where the sudden popularity came from, it didn't come from the characters it came from Ch3 being a great Chapter, the Critters continued existance after the fact is then really a product of algorthms and trends taking these characters to people who didn't care about Poppy. The guy who made the frowning ones is a good example, he was a Sonic fan and had no previous love for Poppy. Same with all these animators who anons here post about, they only are connected to the game by the Critters. Really the Crittersfuckers aren't Poppy fans, if you want evidence for that people itt have admitted that, but Mon still saw them as part of their community. So to appeal to their entire "community", they made these NCs as a halfwa between giving the Poppyfans the game they want with nee characters and reeling thr Critterfags back in, it backfired because people were tired of the Critters on the Poppy side and there was no way to bring the Critter people back.
