If the blacksmith doesn't temper what you want in two tries MAX, then immediately *taunt* him and repeatedly emote *no*. Commence tempering, and it usually goes better.
*Thank you* emote afterwards is optional. But I usually do that, so that he remembers the whole experience for the next time.

Not sure if there's anything else left to do at this point for the season.

I've fully done the entire battlepass, done every achievement for the hidden title on season journey. Done every uber on T4 including Lillith, got to pit 120, got every glyph to 100 that my build uses. Fully masterworked all my gear to 12/12 all ancestral.

I'm paragon 240 I guess I could grind that out to 300? Is there anything else you can think of? I'm a quill spiritborn so I'm cheating btw but still.

Bros, I bought the Expansion. Paid the $90 and got some Cosmetic funds, so I'm not mad, but this game sucks, bros. You reach endgame in like 10 hours and then you farm the same dungeons over and over, never target farming anything or having a goal in mind. Leveling up glyphs is boring and feels like a pointless grind. Then you need to farm Boss materials to actually have a chance at farming a Mythic Unique. And all for what purpose? There is no real Leaderboard or competition or reason to trade anything.

This game sucks, bros.

I liked it for a little while before the Expansion, but it is truly still bad. I hesitate to say what it needs to fix it because I don't even think Blizzard is competent enough anymore to even add in what it needs to make the game good. 100% there is. They think anyone ever played Diablo for the story when at best it's just pretty window dressing. Both Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 for whatever reason always hold you back from progressing because you got to speak some inane shit to someone, that's always held me back from replaying those campaigns. Which is a pity because I think D4's base game had some cool boos fights.

Diablo 2 at least only had you talk to somebody to deliver quests (which you most of the time didn't even need to do to advance, save to leave the act) and otherwise all dialogue was optional.

i Have no idea what most of the side quests even were because they locked extra skill points and xp boosts behind them. They should have at least made it optional So can do them at some point without it feeling like a chore I need to get out of the way. Also does every class react the same/ has the same dialogue in the campaign? Playing Necro for my first chracter and I swear I've only heard him referencing muh balance or Necromancer shit once during some rando side quest. I would still rather the minimal narrative intrusion like D2 but D3 at least gave you class specific dialogue and VAs.

Glyph upgrades moved to the pit.
Items, your time is better spent in Helltide / Legion / Tree farming.

If you want obducite, run a ten wave Infernal Horde, dump all your aether into material chest, and you'll get 1k -2k Obducite depending on your efficiency.

There is a literal bug in the game right now where the spiritborn can cancel evade animation and start another evade before the invincibility of the previous evade ends, infinitely extending the invincibility letting a very specific build exploit the bug to infinitely spam damage while permanently staying in invincibility frames at incredibly high speeds.
That's not a balancing issue, that's an issue of people exploiting a bug.

deciding to try out druid for the first time. currently level 43.....when does this shit get good?

feels incredibly slow, spirit starved like crazy, and insanely pillow fisted. like even on normal difficulty im waling on mobs and they arent dying, i've got moves doing like 15-20 damage at level 43.

There are some areas from D3.
The marketplace Baal area where you always get that "help the townspeople escape to the sewers" bounty quest. It's all destroyed in D4, but it's there.
Also the Maghda "lair of the witch" fight place or whatever is where the stronghold with the simulacrum medical researcher/thing is in D4, albeit a slightly different orientation of entering the arena.
D3 had realmwalkers. Also aetherwalkers (wondering if that will pop up in D4--they looked kind of cool with their gigantic legs).
Best part of D3 was the new years event where you could hop into a portal and go back to D1 with pixels and everything. You can get the soulstone helmet transmog that looks like you're going around with a red soulstone stuck in your forehead. D4 wouldn't be so based to pay homage to the original--I mean, look at where this soulstone story line has gone so far.

You can put down 3 hydras and I think it's about 10 heads per hydra when maxxed out
Not sure how it performs this season especially with runewords + merc + new familiar skill but last season I found it to be a very comfortable build, especially for hardcore
Last season it did not feel like a top tier damage build but this season that doesn't matter so much since you can still get whatever drops at Torment 1 and most builds will get to Torment 2-3 as long as you invest the time to try and max them out.

They went for a very mass appeal theme in D3 and D4. D2 has guitar in it which fits with the Spanish theme. It’s very Spanish church themed. Very cool. They lost that atmosphere in the later games

Whether something is casual or not is based on how it's played, not based on how easy it is to discover and do min-maxed damage you fucking retard.
This game is casual because its gameplay loop for 99% of the playerbase is log in, do some overworld kills, pick up the season pass skin, and log off to to go to work so you can pay for your wife's boyfriend's son's school supplies. Shit like the highest levels of pit and T4 are there just to appease the minmaxing autists and that's why they're so poorly balanced. The reason there's always some build that can do broken levels of damage is because nobody bothers testing for it, casuals don't look up build guides and they're not gonna accident into one of those builds.
You are absolutely fucking retarded if you think the game isn't casual because there's a broken bug you can use to access an unbalanced level of a meaningless activity that awards nothing.

What build you playing as? There are barbarian builds that run selig that let you take on torment bosses at low levels because you can just tank so many enemies.

Also, it's not a bad exotic (exotic-- too much Destiny 2!) it's not a bad mythic at all. You can give up a temper and an imprint to run that. Those are great stats.

They want to sell expansions. I'm happy they did it. It's weird seeing basically nothing but spiritborn given you had frozen orb and lightning spear sorcerers, barrage and andariels rogues (barrage and puncture) running around last season being ultra popular. It's basically all spiritborn now.

Quillborn is fine but it sorta just feels like I'm playing a juiced barrage rogue. Spiritborn reminds me a little too much of other classes and everyonce and a while I feel strange meta-slaving to it.

Even centipede spiritborn is pretty tanky. You regen health like crazy and can convert all damage to poison which you'll have an 80+% resistance to with Craze of the Dead God.
I'm playing a pestilent swarm spiritborn right now as well.
Spiritborn doesn't have a bad build unless you're using nothing but magic circles or something retarded like that.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around what the point of this game is. In D2, each Ladder was about building up your characters and finding items to outfit each character, and trading what you find so your characters reach their max efficiency in killing mobs. In D4, it's the same really, and you can get Greater Affix items that are GG and can outfit your character with the best items to kill mobs faster. After I just typed what I said just now I guess it's the same thing, but for me the mental process wasn't there to see it the same way. Something about it feels different.

Now I see how it could be fun. I want to trade for GG perfect rolled items to outfit at least one character with max GG. Same thing as Diablo 2, but I had to work it out.

I agree but i think the bigger issue is limiting tempering scrolls to a single use. If you could just keep resetting your tempers as long as you farm scrolls then it would be a completely fine system.

Yeah, it's a dumb system
They say they want every item to have an endpoint to the journey
But the obviously sensible system is to make scrolls slightly more common than they are now, allow them to be on the same item as many times as you like and then remove the ability to reset masterworking and make it so you can't use the scrolls on masterworked items.
You end up with
>the same end of the journey experience
>farming uniques is more worthwhile since you are always hunting for another base to masterwork to get the perfect crits
>a perfect 4GA mythic with perfect, optimal masterwork crits is crazy rare, something you keep in your eternal stash forever
>an endgame aspiration for crazy hardcore people who will farm/buy a shitload of scrolls so they can try for perfect tempers on 3GA items
>casual stop whining because they can build their items with the correct tempers much more easily and they mostly quit before they 12/12 masterwork their shit anyway so they don't care at all about removing masterwork resets

Resetting masterworks at level 4 and 8 can make a huge difference, especially with how cheap level 4 is.
If I couldn't reset masterworks it would have been way more difficult to hit enough resource generation for ring of the midnight sun and enough defense/resistance to move up the torment levels. Removing masterwork resets would definitely be felt by many casual players.
I think the issue is that the game has too many stat breakpoints, where below the breakpoint the build basically doesn't function and above the breakpoint there's no benefit. This applies to cooldown reduction, resource generation, and resource cost reduction mostly, but it also applies to defense and elemental resistance. Playing the builds feel like torture before hitting those breakpoints, so any setbacks towards gearing feel extra punishing.

turned off crossplay and it fixed most of my crashing and lagging especially inventory lag (from 3 seconds to 1) but man i see almost nobody out in the world now

Depends on what you want to do.
If you're going Rake then Rod Of Kepeleke and Ring of the Midnight Sun (restores up to 50% of used Vigor over last 2 secs) are highly recommended
Both Loyaltys Mantle (double Jaguar hall) and Harmony of Ebewaka (different halls) works. You can also try meme Overpower builds with Banished Lords Talisman, Tibaults Will and The Shako.
The Key Passive that is usually used us Prodigys Tempo.

If you're going a Thrash build then you need to use Sepazontec - it's too powerful not to use. Either of the above helms and maybe even Heir of Perdition. No unique rings needed or other slots except maybe either Rakanoths Wake/Yens Blessing or Tyraels Might.
The boots can be used in the Rake build too if you're having trouble with resistances.

Pic related is Thrash with Sepazontec. You can make the AoE slashes overlap with getting Thrash size tempering.

It still bugs me to this moment because I have zero clue what my core/generator filler skills should be. The best I got is turning my entire army's damage shadow, and stacking shadow with decompose/blight since blight gives 20% increased damage on blight. But that's all I really got. I am getting kicked out of groups and (sometimes) blocked because I play as a Barb
Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times over the past few days. I’ve tried joining groups for Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, or even just a Duriel run, but often after people accept my friend request, they message me saying they don’t want me to join because I’m playing a Barbarian. Some even ask me to switch to Spiritborn (which I don’t have), or they simply remove me from their friend list. Twice, I’ve been unable to send private messages to them afterward, which made it seem like they blocked me.

I’m not here to complain about the damage differences or poor game design choices, but if Spiritborn is going to be so overpowered, there should be ways for other classes to contribute in a supportive role, for example. I remember in D3 when Barbarians could pull mobs together to help other members clear high-tier dungeons. Something like that would make a huge difference.

As it stands, other classes don’t seem to add much value to group play, and this kind of imbalance doesn’t make sense from a business perspective. It’s clearly a design flaw.

I hope Blizzard addresses this in the mid-season patch.

Otherwise, I’m having fun—though it seems I’ll likely be playing solo most of the time, which is a bit disappointing. Thanks for reading.

Yeah they made it easy so that gay dads could PUG it. In T4 everyone knew what to do but when I did it in T1-T3 I had to do every mechanic by myself. Hitting a button at a certain point was far too difficult for Diablo players.

Am I the only one with literally-unplayable levels of lag right now? Other games are working fine but D4 just doesn't. And hilariously enough my network bandwidth is flat lining when this is happening, like the client just isn't even trying to connect to the server.

We have the fat achetype (druid), the slim archetype (necro and sorc), the muscular archetype (barb), the fit archetype (spiritborn). We just need now a loli and old archetype.

I've made literally billions upon billions of gold buying orange quill volley gear (the actual best build) from spiritborn players using a random suboptimal build like evade or finger of death for 0.05% of what it is worth and reselling on diablo trade because they don't know that it's the best build.

This is probably 100% the situation. Groups don't usually kick you if you can keep up. If they spend every minute ressing you, then you're getting kicked.
Also, why is this always a barbarian problem? D3 had the same thing.

Not all barbs! But overwhelmingly more out of this class than any other.
At least in D3 the deaths only affected the person who died. Seems like in D4, if anyone in party dies, then everyone's glyph upgrades get reduced--anyone else notice this, or was that just a coincidence?

Infernal Horde guarantees at least one, do a 6 wave IH and pop the chest.

Obal gambling isn't that bad either, especially for the slots that only cost 25 and when you spend smoldering ashes for the thing that gives you a chance at extra items.

Anyone playing necromancer? I'm running the Minion build and didn't clear pit 65 and unlock T4 until paragon 180 and all glyphs to 46.

Is there a better build than Minion? I haven't gotten any mythic gear yet. I was planning on going for paragon 300 this season by doing speedruns of pit65 but I have a feeling I am pretty from sub 5 minute runs with the minion build.
