one of the reasons the discord imploded was because a decent amount of people wanted to open gates and invite everyone in the thread while the owner always had a purist view about who should be in, which led to lots of fighting, banishments and the sort. He actually was pissed when people started namedropping him to a point he couldn't even post anymore and when people leaked his second tierlist here it was more of a reason for him to avoid contact with /ssbg/ altogether and distrust people on discord. I obviously can't speak for every user because neither I, or anyone else really, have the power to control all these people, so if some came to just shitpost thats on them. There was never ill intent to sabotage discussion here, at least from the people I know the most, but I can't speak for everyone obviously. I myself never posted here even in tourny threads since I was in the watchparty channels and only came to the thread after it was over. Mostly lurking, still. Which is what I am about to do again.

Rivals of Aether 2 has shitty sound effects and very low graphical fidelity---it is extremely difficult to make shit out, especially during motion.

The game's real glaring problems are its tiny roster, lack of any help for new players, and the worst is the music. It's inexcusably bad and someone on that team needs to develop the guts to fire the music person.

Swinging at the game's highly distinguishable models and good meaty sound effects is bizarre, like a person trying to hit a stationary pinata and missing.

If I remember right, Rishi’s overarching explanation for DK’s viability/if he could win a major was because of his fundamental stats - pretty fast on the ground, one of the best fastfall speeds, high weight for surviving, solid hitboxes, etc.
As far as I’m aware the lower half of the cast besides DK is characterized by having some combination of shit mobility (wavedashing, run speeds, air drift, etc.), being light, being floaty, having lackluster combos on most of the cast, that kind of thing, so I’m curious as to what does Mewtwo have going for him on that same “fundamental” level that could boost him noticeably higher

Tournaments are getting less and less entrants. My local shuts down for a while every now and then because they don't get as many entrants as they used to. Melee lost a lot of majors because not enough money came in. The scene is slowly dying, wake up and smell the roses

Not across the board. My local weekly is doing better than it ever has. I live in a medium-small city and my local only gets fewer than 25 entrants the day after big regional tournaments when everyone's tired. Most weeks it's 30-40 entrants.
