rate of fire is (of the) lowest of all heavy cruisers
very well protected and the matchmaker isnt particularly terrible
but as far as premium cruisers go, its only 'worth' it (at 50% off) if you havent started the wop tree but would really like a premium cruiser

Italy 5.7 is probably the peak of the tree. One of the best 5.7 naval lineups. Very tough ships and that br has the most favorable matchmaking of any br in any mode. Only real issue is a low rate of fire but the guns hit hard enough that it isn’t really an issue, especially if you use single ranging.

It’s a strong lineup. Rate of fire is the only real downside of the ships, but they’re still good for about 29 8” shells/min on an expert crew and fight lots of destroyers. They also have the best cruiser armor scheme br for br, and Italy is the only nation currently that can efficiently research its top tier battleships with a 5.7 lineup, though Pola stops counting for that. They’re good ships.

If you don't have flares, shoot your AIM-9B/R-3S/whatever dogshit you have at the enemy AIM-9L/R-60M. Even the shittiest IR missiles will lock, track, shoot down AND decoy the enemy missile with its own heat signature all at once.
If you have flares, just flare. Even IRCCM missiles are easy to flare in the head-on, let alone basic all-aspect missiles.
If it's an SARH/ARH that's being shot at you and you have no time to turn out and notch, try the first option and pray that your missile pulls in as a SARH/ARH won't be decoyed by your missile's heat signature (duh).

Makes your cannons into MGs with more damage in the sense that you can forget about snapshots and sawing wings off - you NEED time on target because you NEED to damage the vital parts directly when your shells don't deal splash damage and go clean through thin projections of the enemy's geometry (read: wings and empty parts of the fuselage).

When I don't have CAS or whenever I just feel like it, I like to get a tank with smoke shells and just sit behind hard cover, just under their line of fire. Just lob the low velocity smoke shells every 20 seconds or so, using binoculars to adjust your aim.
Once you have the range, start hitting their tank with them directly, so you also know when they start seething and move. Then keep an eye out so you can hit their new position. You basically just deny them the ability to play, while being able to garner satisfaction from fucking them over.

Do you like flying boats with an 8000lbs bomb load with decent defensive armament at 3.7 that can can be used for low tier event grinding? If you say yes to any of that question keep it. I find it fun as long as you don't use the bomber spawn and airfield spawn it to do low alt bombing runs on ground units unless its the legacy maps with only three bases cause it's a big ass target at high altitudes and will not survive long term when everyone can see it coming high up.

older multiplayer games usually had a very low skill floor
cs 1.6 had a lot of shitters playing thousands of hours and still playing like trash, that's because players got complacent due to the low skill floor

regardless, you get better at games by playing against people who are slightly better than you. if you're getting sniped as soon as you leave spawn you'll get frustrated and quit the game

I played CAS in SB after you posted this and got 6 kills with my Ju 88 without having to go back to base.
I got shot down by a revenge fighter at the end, but I still had another Ju 88 (A-1 and A-4 are almost identical) in my lineup lol.

fragile, low RoF, kinda odd gun placement, its okay against destroyers from a distance, pretty useless in (minor) uptiers, AA battery should be pretty good so expect free plane kills
on the right map with a full downtier she should shit you a ton of cash, as long as you dont try to brawl with the destoyers
