I originally wrote out some autistic ideas on how it'd work but then realized I should just ask the question and then write out ideas seperate
I wouldnt mind like hunger bar (no thirst bar since hunger and thirst are basically the same mechanic) and crafting recipes were for food so crafting wasn't pointless.
I imagine it like buffs to stamina and flask effectiveness and maybe some +defences against ststus effects The exact length would be difficult since like I think that it'd be fun to have to be "prepared" to dungeon dive and have enough rations, but like also yeah, you wouldn't like want to be dropping down hunger levels while in a boss, but also it'd be kind of boring to go "Eh, pause it during a boss."
Im mostly syealing this idea from a mod for a different game, but I encountered the idea of like an exhaustion mechanic (seperate from Stamina bar) where walking up hills is slow and tires you out if you do it too much (same with sprinting) and slows your Stamina regen or smth, so you're encouraged to pathfind up hills to find easier paths, or trying to find places you can walk downhill to avoid exhaustion. Also could be effected by how fed you are, obviously.
I like the idea of weather/temperature mechanics but like they're usually way too disconnected from every other mechanic in the game. Though funnily enough, though I don't like hardswapping, like it'd be one of the less annoying solutions to some of the problems with it, which is thag switching equipment is a hassle when in fromsoft games its actually pretty easy.
They already have this kind of though eith like lightning and fire being effected by rain, I think this just could be expanded. They have a giant fantasy world with like different biomes and magic and all they could think to do was make it rain and be foggy sometimes and get a xp buff.
>>498207535This is unfortunately the right answer. They should fix what they have before adding new atuff to break
