>>498137946i've always wondered where the budget goes on games like this or concord where there are massive staffs and almost nothing to show for it.
did it go to the characters? well the characters have fewer armor skins than D3 per class, a less robust armor dying and transmog system, fewer skills with fewer skins for those skills, the same number of classes all of which are rereleases of old classes instead of adding new ones like D3 (the new monk doctor being an exception somewhat)
did it go to the enemies? you have only handful of enemy types with very few skills other than walk or charge, and the occasional fire/petrification cone. the bosses are almost all clones of each other with very basic stand in the middle and cast energy bolts gameplay save for a few of the more relevant story bosses
did it go to the levels? the entire overworld for all acts put together feels smaller than act 1 of D2, with almost no defining features or zones that stand out in any way, just generic mud zone, generic frost zone, no points of interest, the strongholds all play exactly the same, and the most interesting thing that can happen to a zone is that it turns red and spawns generic demons at high volume, mostly basic imps from act 1 of diablo 2
did it go to the soundtrack? i can barely recall a song from the entire game apart from that nagging nanabooboo menu music. certainly nothing as memorable as D1 or D2 or bombastic as D3
did bobby just take the money and run? where did the effort go?
