It can be. They're two different flavors of ice cream really, but the community is god awful and the players are even more disabled.
I enjoy both for what they are but dota isn't as "static" and doesn't have as many spergs; it's worth trying out at least.

It really isn't. The kits themselves are the only positive thing about it - the characters just feel more fun. But the itemization is far, far worse and you actually get to deal with unstable shutins or actual schizos way more often.

Hero design is unironically a lot better and they actually care for the game. Anon, they don't care about the game at all. There are scripters everywhere and they have their playerbase on such a leash that they can ban them for typing gg or pinging the wrong way. Any self-respecting person would scoff at that and move on with their lives but the typical League player just buys a new account and continues playing.

I've played a lot of League lately due to friends. It honestly doesn't do much better than Dota. I'd say the only upper hand it has over Dota is that the laning phase can be a bit more fun due to being super condensed and much more action focused. But even then League's balance is so fucking shit you rarely feel like the lane was a true skill based match. At least in Dota if the lane is fucked you can pull creeps or run off to the jungle and other such tricks.

As for hero design, items, map, cosmetics, etc. etc. etc. Dota does it all better.

I've played at challenger in league and was top 100 in dota at one point, I'm now a grand master/divine shitter.

Perhaps truly at the top bracket these days people are incomprehensible beasts but it's not been my experience over a decade.

I think Dota is better because I have the option to actually solo queue. League doesn't have it and very often you get to play against a duo or two of them. I think their system tries to make the match as fair as possible but it doesn't mean much when the party on your team is top and mid or top and jungle and the enemy one is bot.

Also a funny anecdote - in the last week or so some developer got harassed by ally pinging in game - I think he was feeding on his character so much that he went out of his way ro remove the ally pinging. Starting today it only appears for the one pinging, the team itself cannot see it.

Unacceptable way of using the feature and all that.

honestly it would, as long as the new model stays somewhat close to the og and uses the same skeleton, there should not be major issues with clipping
too many heroes need a remodel and Valve clearly doesn't see the benefit in making those to the point where they had a perfectly good arcana model for WR they could convert to a basic remodel and didn't even bother

The thing is that people were still expecting there to be some hats and some gameplay fun stuff, but there is none. In addition, people are now fully aware that Valve is no longer interested in funding the TI and will just pocket the hat money directly. Watch them release some Greeviling-Diretide BP right after TI ends with the arcanas and personas.

Skill idea for a support.
You plant some kind of ward and it provides status resistance to nearby allies. At first I wanted it to provide status immunity to different things (silence, root, muting...) and you'd have to choose the variation but I don't think such a thing would be implemented so generic status resistance it is.
The closer an ally is to the ward, the faster the debuffs go down.
More levels could provide more hp for the ward or a larger radius or increased status resistance.
In the pic I used an obelisk because it's easy to draw.

Also, completely unrelated but I don't like the heal Witch Doctor has. I wish that skill was changed for something else. Not sure what. Being a voodoo master, maybe resurrect a recently deceased creep?

I also thought of this, which would make it different from other ward skills like that of Lich or Pugna: an ally can deny it to get a buff.
So as an enemy you want to destroy it to remove the status resistance, but if you aren't careful you might give super status resistance to their carry (if he is fast and gets the last hit).

With any hero that I've played more that 15 times I have at least a 40% winrate, this includes Invoker and Meepo. I have positive winrate with any hero I've played more than 30 times. I have like 28% winrate with PA over 40 games.
I can't even win with her this patch. I don't fucking get her bros.
Now again, I'm for some reason blessed with Axe with a 80% winrate in 40 games even though I'm absolute dogshit with him. Maybe my PA is just cursed idk.

It's because of the one thing that people do not understand about Valve. They have a flat hierarchy structure where employees are not made to work on anything specific. All employees are free to work on whatever projects they want to. Dota 2 is not new and exciting for employees to work on. The number of people that actively want to work on Dota 2 has dwindled over time, and will continue to dwindle. This is why there is less and less content, and the content they produce is largely outsourced now. There are just not enough people at Valve that want to work on Dota 2 anymore. And why would they? There are newer and more exciting projects they can work on. Not many people except the most passionate want to remain working on a decade old game.

been playing a bunch of OD 5 lately and the hero is surprisingly good at the role.

>very good harass with lvl 1 orb into maxng astral with 1 point in passive, str offlaners specifically hate getting astraled
>very good base stats and movespeed, get some tranquils and you're flying around
>ult will do a nice chunk of dmg vs most non int heroes even if you're outleveled, only downside is the long ass cooldown

Whats the dota 2 performance secret sauce? I have every setting turned all the way down and am in 4:3 resolution but moving around the main menu feels like shuffling my feet through molasses. There's no way this is intended or that anyone could play like this, much less on a worse computer. Surely valve knows that their audience is windows 7 pc cafe shitboxes, right? Why do you think valve only released like 4 terrains and 3 weather effects in 10 years and all of them were bundled with something else in a battlepass etc.
Nobody would roll 1000 boxes to get snow weather effect and valve knows this.
The set boxes is what keep dota2 servers online without sets the game will be shutdown and most people will not buy sets if noone else can see them.

that was in april, we didn't get any new content since then. last year bp came out early September we already had something to grind at least and now valve expects us to wait until end of the year to finally get something. Imagine if fortnite or leauge had this amount of content drought, only dota cucks allow themself to be treated this badly.

and no balance patches are not new content, thats the bare minimum.
