depends on the loot system you compare it to. in the new system you could see 1 guy rolling on all the loot and getting almost all of it. most loot systems that pugs would use had a reserve system, where you could reserve certain items and if it dropped, the people that reserved it got priority for the roll. so if you really need 1 specific item you get prio for that roll and some other dickhead can't just roll on everything and yoink that specific item from you

So which is if?
Arthas picks up Frostmourne a few missions in to WC3, so he would be gone for the bulk of ROC, all of TFT and WotLK

he was a retarded 20 year old put into an impossible position by his complacent and indolent father. He tried and failed to protect his people from a foe that was obviously beyond him and then in failing pursued the enemy into a trap set for by again, foes far beyond his abilities. His friends and mentors abandoned him and left without help, support or guidance followed a path of blind revenge, as an angry young man is inclined to do. When his men tried to abandon him he stopped them by deception and treachery.

Like I said last thread. He's a failed hero who turned into a tragic villain.

His story might have been different if Uther hadn't bitched out at stratholme and if jaina hadn't turned her back on him in his most desperate hour. He never needed a friend more than there. There was nothing else to do at Stratholme, Arthas was right and the city had to be purged to contain the undead. If Uther had helped him do a better job then he might have been able to keep arthas from going to northrend after. If Jaina had stayed she might have been able to help him deal with the loss rationally instead of chasing after a demon to the end of the world in search of revenge.

If his father had addressed the plague earlier and moved to confront the situation personally instead of dismissing Medivhs warning then the entire chain of events might have been different and Lordaeron might not have fallen. Arthas would not have been forced as an obviously unprepared and under equipped young man to deal with the fall head on and largely alone, the fact of which is what broke his reason and left him on the path to frostmourne and the frozen throne.

Arthas should never have been the one leading the fight against the scourge. He was a half trained boy. Uther's Squire. Uther tries to pull rank on him but in the same breath he refuses to do what needs to be done.

If Stratholme is Uther, Jaina and Arthas vs Mal'Ganis the story has a different ending.

I actually think it is okay when Chris Metzen does it because I think Chris Metzen cherishes and respects the world itself. Even if it's campy hacky shit, he still treats it like he's proud of it, and when he isn't he literally apologizes for it.

I do not think a majority (not all) of the developers working on anything related to Warcraft have any feeling for the game they're working on past it being a good resume builder. Those that do, get moved to other teams or poached because they're actually good at their job.

Focus on the patch, ignore the game as a whole. It's been part of WoW's rot for a long time now.

You are building "good" social rapport based on if you give people what they would have gotten out of the base random looting, and "bad" social rapport based on scamming people
You are taking the random loot, and adding a human bias loot on top, and building a social rapport based on that

According to the Arthas novel, Arthas and Ner'zhul used to be united then Arthas purged Ner'zhul and then purged the good remaining within Arthas. To understand why Blizzard took so long to making classic in the first place you just need to understand corporate retardation. The best example is General Motors and the way they kill off and hold back any possible competition to the Corvette from within their other brands, despite all the money going to the same place. For decades this has been going on just to maintain the prestige status of the 'vette.
Blizzard never made Classic before, despite the obvious market for it, just because it would introduce competition to their flagship product: World of Warcraft * (insert current expansion). They only finally relented and made Classic (and did a pisspoor job of it) because it became financially necessary for them to do so because of the number decline in WoW. Thats why classic had the same subscription and all of their investor language is focused around 'monthly users' and so on. To obfuscate how much their flagship product is failing.
Classic+ is the next logical step, simple as.

Retail is more profitable because the playerbase is more willing to buy tokens,use the ingame store and the fact they release a full priced expansion every 2 years that will sell millions of copies.

Classic+ would just become retail anyway. Just look at whats going on with Wotlk. The people who want a vanilla WoW experience is relativity small. And would probably turn on classic+ as soon a raids started having boss fights with more than 2 mechanics and class rotations with more than 2 buttons.

Top 5 MMOs I've played since escaping the maze in 8.2. Keep in mind though they all do wildly different things.

1. Star Wars: The Old Republic (storytelling and character choices, world/setting/lore, characters)
2. World of Warcraft Retail (gameplay, dungeon design, class design, PVP)
3. Guild Wars 2 (open world content, dungeons)
4. World of Warcraft: Classic (group gameplay, fantasy)
5. Warhammer Online: Return of Reckoning (world/fantasy/setting, PVP)

They're all pretty close though for better or for worse. I play SWTOR and retail, though sometimes a friend drags me to Turtle. Honorable mentions are CoH private servers and Neverwinter but they're far lower.

But that doesnt' tell the whole story because retail has a lot of players that focus on m+, and a shitload of casual players that only do LFR. LFR numbers are probably massive. I don't think retail is nearly as parse sweaty as classic is either.

Plus TOGC is like the most alt friendly raid ever. I run that shit on 4 characters, I have only ever raided on 1 character before TOGC. Shits just so easy and fast.

Others are definitely possible and likely just not immediately (such as Avaloren, First Ones, Titans Bad, Pantheon of Disorder, etc).

Since we know there's a demo, we know it's a starting zone.
They just did a class, so Underground/Tinker isn't happening next and there's no Underground races that make much sense to be made playable.
Denathrius needs more time/cooldown after Shadowlands.

I'm thinking Ethereal starting zone.

Because it's fun and I can get into one and be done in 20 minutes where every second counts.
I've been doing the raid in normal and heroic in hopes of getting the trinket and it's really boring and takes way too much time with too much sitting around.

I made the 447 out of frustration when I only had the time rift trinkets and an Echoing Tyrstone. Then I dropped Rainsong and Neltharion's Call.
I feel slightly bad about replacing my only 447 trinket but honestly the haste it gives me is probably overkill since I've got 35% already from everything else.

Dragonflight feels great and the megaphone gay pandering is literally the only thing wrong with it.
Azure span is a very warcraft zone as is the waking shores. I'll agree that the gay feminist centaur steppe feels off and could have been way better than it is if they hadn't spent literally half the zone making sure you knew the girls were in charge.
Idgaf about gay pandering honestly but holy shit tone it down a bit, remember theres supposed to be a game and a story and characters and quests to go with all the globohomo agitprop.

Whats wrong with dragonflight is that they keep sticking out of place things into otherwise excellent zones.
Zaralek would be very cool if not for the unavoidable diaper fetish shitrats, which literally got me to finally silence dialogue after almost 20 years. Trannystraza in the Ruby sanctum didn't push me over the edge but holy fuck those obnoxious little rats.
Thaldrazus is a bit bland but its not bad and I do like the magic academy part of it. Forbidden reach is uh.. there? feels like it was kitbashed desu. butt two of the zones are unironically among the best they have ever done. The first raids was kinda mid, but not awful. The second raid is great. The pvp is a bit of a mess but its not unplayable and many of S2s sets are cool. Imo the flak dragonflight gets is unfounded and most of it I feel is just leftover angst from the abortion that was shadowlands.

The second they announced they were going straight to TBC after classic, I knew for a fact that's exactly what would happen.
Sure TBC was good, but the fact that, instead of taking the chance to rebuild the game on a new foundation so they can cater to the massive fuckoff audience they recaptured, they chose to just go "yeah fuck it, just re-release the old expansions one after the other, maybe add in some cash shop stuff now that people are hooked again", just goes to show how little they gave a shit.
