I wanted someone to fake a rape allegation against the voice actor for Illidan when TBC was out because I shit you not, blizzard would immediately pull all of that guy's voice lines out of the game from both tbc and retail and hire a quick Fiverr actor to fill the holes

The fact is the best way to play hardcore is to level a mage as your first character, take it to 60 and THEN create the class you actually want to play. A mage levels 2 to 5 times as fast as any other class and also farms gold many times faster at max level. A low level character being boosted by a 60 mage, even on your own account, will level at least twice as fast and with much more safety.

Until blizzard nerfs (improved) blizzard, there's no reason to waste time doing anything else. Hardcore is solved just like classic. It needs changes.

Blizzard's MO of no communication with their playerbase fucking everything up as usual. Era has a lot of people playing on it now but only a handful of guilds/GDKP pugs. The majority will most likely leave for SoM2 when it opens but there might be more interest in SoM2 this time around since we know that those characters will 100% end up on the current Era servers.

WoW Diary is a good read. Really interesting to read how much the game was basically just level designers putting together a world in isolation from a couple gameplay designers who were doing their own thing and it somehow came together smoothly in 2003 or so

instead of seasonal resets, have seasonal raid phases. in the spring you have MC active, summer is AQ, fall is BWL and winter is Naxx
that way players don't get overwhelmed with all the raids being active at once and there's change constantly
you could even have the events occur every year, so players could try for scarab lord every year

Yea ik. I've only done them when i'm 4 or 5 levels above their rating on questie for some free exp.
I'm that kind of guy who actually reads quest text too, so I don't get caught out by "random" shit too easily.

If you know the game you should be alright. I'm playing on Horde and mostly keep to Kalimdor. I will not even set foot on Burning Steps, Searing Gorge etc... I just listen to podcasts and farm mobs non stop. It's the most efficient way anyway.
