Let's start with Grey games:
>FF1-7 were not all made by the same team or same people
>1-5 were all directed by Sakaguchi, but he got a lot help on the early ones from Tanaka and others who would spit off to make the Mana and Saga series
>6 was the first game in the series not directed by Sakaguchi and was instead directed by Ito and Kitase marking a distinct change in the team and is worth noting if we're talking about teams
>7 was a HUGE game and required hiring a bunch of new people to finish on time. This meant that the normal staff of 40 people for previous FF games ballooned to over 100-150 which would CLEARLY not be the same team that made FF6 or FF5
>The FF7 also wouldn't split into the FF8 team and FF9 team. The FF7 team mainly went on to make FF8 while Sakaguchi would establish the Hawaii studio for FF9 and Spirits Within which was meant to be an international studio with a lot of western staff to help them better make the game and movie appeal to western audiences.

Red games:
>CC was part of the FF7 compilation which was the brainchild of Kitase/Nomura/Nojima and would be better associated with the compilation projects as they worked with a similar foundation even if there were different teams
>The 3rd Birthday was Nomura's idea and Toriyama was tasked with writing for it
>Type-0 was originally part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy project, another brainchild of Kitase/Nomura/Nojima
>FFXV should have its own branch since it used to be Versus XIII which is part of FNC and the FFXV team was cobbled together from the Type-0 team, Luminous Engine team, and Versus XIII team, a number of whom left SE after Tabata reorganized the new FFXV's internet structure
>Forspoken is being made by the team that made FFXV, but a number of key FFXV people left SE shortly before it began production including Tabata

Orange games:

>And during this time, other Crystal Chronicles games were being made, so I dunno why that block seems to be shoved into FF12 aside from the fact Kamazu was its producer

tl;dr It's more important who the key staff are on which of these projects rather than thinking of entire teams moving from project to project.

Fucking ruined. They completely missed the point. Sephiroth is supposed to be a mysterious figure that is elevated above cloud in both power and skill. To give us control over him takes away that feeling of unobtainable power he possessed in the flashback and now makes him an equal to us and Cloud. How do you fuck up such simple story telling.

The original joke with his character was that he's a 2D sprite that doesn't understand the 3D world he's suddenly stumbled into, so they might just bring him back in sprite form since the joke would actually work better in the remake
On the other hand, I think it would be cool (and funny) if Culex had a ridiculously detailed, CBU1-esque character model, and the new joke is that he's a character from a serious, "realistic" modern FF game that can't comprehend the silly cartoony Mario RPG world he's been thrust into

Honestly this is actually better for the situation. Two reasons:
1. IF, and they probably will, still make Sephiroth overpowered when you control him and he does like slightly below the damage cap, it’s fine.
2. This part of the scene would be ruined by the premise of this being a part 2 anyway, since the 2020 remake let you reach high power in midgar and Sephiroth was already the final boss. Part of the charm in the original was this was shown essentially right after the tutorial where Sephiroth was a man of mystery who just killed the CEO, and sephiroth did big damage numbers and had cool materia.
This is better for the remake because they can give sephiroth really powerful moves that have low cooldowns and make you feel like you’re playing god mode.

For me I guess my problem was seeing where the action genre is at the moment and how XVI fits into it.
You have things like DMCV which feel like a big over the top attempt to pretty much perfect the genre as it as seeing as it’s reached what felt like it’s natural evolution, then you have Bayonetta 3 which while flawed seemed like an attempt to take the genre into new places, Nier while not as new was probably the strongest attempt to marry RPG elements into the gameplay, with probably the last frontier for the genre is to attempt multiplayer which has only ever been really tried with Bayo 2 and DMC3SESE
Then you have XVI which kinda just sits in there not doing anything great but not doing anything so bad that it’s in that GoW territory

Scale on them is pointless, they don’t do anything with it other than just show off some cutscenes of them looking big and then set you off in an empty arena but with a smaller moveset
A smart move would be to make it so by the end you can turn into everyone and have them scaled down to work in literally any fight.

I finally started FF16. It's fun so far but for now I only played until Cid brought me in some hidden place and some girl is healing Jill so it's not a whole lot of gameplay. I know the gist of what happens in the game but not all the tiny details and I'm playing with the Japanese voices and French subtitles. Clive is so pretty and his lips look so soft I want him to be real and to marry me right now. Chocobos are so adorable that I can't take it seriously when there are soldiers riding them in cutscenes, it looks goofy.

In III / V or X-2 you're being given power temporarily, either by crystals or dresspheres. But in tactics you can go to an akademy to learn to cast spells of fight with a sword, so why do you forget how to do it once you change jobs?

The job progression in Tactics seems to imply that it's a matter of having enough experience with one job to segue into others.
Being limited in terms of what you can do is harder to explain outside of maybe some jobs exceling at things more than others. I believe you passively gain JP in jobs outside of your main one anyway, just much more slowly.

Black Rifle (420% damage + silence) main hand and Mad Minute (sexcsy secondaries and MDEF-) offhand.
V39 is also nice, if you want AoE damage, but i prefer single target hits and debuffs without expending materia slots.

I bought the 2 dollar gear ticket, it comes with 320 red crystals. Used 300 for Lucia's memory pack (i think).
Apart from that it's just a favourable start after rerolling a few times. Exhausted everything at start and haven't spend anything after 12th Tifa stamp.

the only obvious way aerith dies is in clouds current timeline with the crew in FF7R but it kinda makes no sense to just say oh shes going to die the same as the old games. 1. yeah you get rare chests there so crystals and shit but you should finish all 4 and move on to the hard ones if you can that is for even more rewards. You should S+ every dungeon though for all the crystal rewards. It's not that hard thankfully (aerith even died once right before the last attack and still got S+)

Why is it so hard to play old FF games on actual hardware? I happened to be in a game/comic store the other day, and bought a copy of FFIV Advance on GBA, I have an old DS Lite lying around. Played it a little, and was like "Please god let me speed this up."

Emulators and stuff like the Pixel Remasters just have trumped these old ones for me I think, but I'm not sure.

Use any weapons special ability over and over again to learn it

Now Aerith also gets a weapon called Arcane Scepter that has an ability called Fleeting Familiar, it attacks when you attack. Her other weapon called Silver Staff has an ability called Sorcerous Storm. point blank aoe attack
