It's really night and day when you're dealing with developers who not only are knowledgeable but really care about the game. And it's not (yet) a behemoth company with 40 different departments and HR having to okay every little detail, etc. The Golden Age. I just hope it doesn't change. It always changes.

I thought path of exile 2 was going to be a really good game. I gave it leeway at launch for being a bit too tedious and unrewarding thinking they would start cleaning that up and figuring it out. Assuming they just started that way so they could build it upward instead of under shooting tedium and having to make the game more tedious. But they just ran the opposite direction. Bizarre to say the least.

Idk, It will be good once they finally give in to campaign skips, make every act like act one in size and time consumption, and stop trying to be ruthless. However, if they don't do that, it will be a bad game forever and Last Epoch has the potential to take over. Tho graphically, even with enhancements, LE still alienates a lot of people who stupidly weigh that has the most important aspect of a game.

Here's some builds that I'm certain will still be good. I've played 3 of them up to 90+ on HC, and the other 2 are based on the same sorts of concepts. Although I've never done Aberroth, so maybe they're not uber builds
I also put in an atlas tree which I think I'm going to go with at the start, focused on rares/champions and crypts

Not a single ARPG has done campaign skips btw. Even Grim Dawn, a single player game, will ask you to at least complete it once before you can boost other characters to Ultimate. Not even Torchlight, where you need to get to a certain level before you can buy it with money, even though you can complete the campaign in a few hours with twinked gear.
I doubt PoE2 will be the first to budge.

It's okay but it's not gonna instaphase them. It can benefit from Static's generic damage multiplier per static charge (200 static = 800% more damage), so if you use something like Glyph of Dominion to generate charges, its single target becomes not fantastic, just okay. You'll need to use a scepter and not a wand to do this though; wands will reduce Static's mana cost below 15 and fuck the whole thing up
I've done empowered bosses and a few of the harbingers with it, but haven't pushed it far. Again though, that was because I just generally like playing HC to see how far I can go before I make a mistake

no, they really aren't. they take forever to do anything, never kept kickstarter promises like finishing campaign and pvp (don't care what your opinion on them is), couldn't figure out procedural generation, they flip flop on every issue like trade because they have no clear vision for their product, they released 1.0 with year+ old bugs and skills and passives that never worked and without even looking at most classes, they design the game by reddit committee, plus their year long hiatus to figure out multiplayer and online services which they still haven't gotten right like you mentioned. these are genuinely not devs to look up to, and it's absurd to pretend they are some bastion of modern gaming even if it's half ironic most of the time.

build idea: paladin that uses healing hands as a melee attack, channeled for 4 attacks/second, and shits out like 7 divine bolts (5 from HA, 2 from passive but only twice a second) every attack to stack ignites. That's like 24 divine bolts, plus some fire AoE every 5th attack from one of the buffs.

I like those sorts of trigger builds, just be aware of the mana costs since you often have to pay for triggered skills too

yes that node. the bolts from HA should come out when i heal myself or an ally, the 2 from the passive tree only when i hit. if i manage to land 2 out of the 4 arch attacks i'm hitting the cap
