I wish they never did "one new character next chapter" because it's clear now it only limited their creativity and made the game worse overall. We could've had so many different toys, all with their own sequences, if they didn't need to force one overarching bad guy into every Chapter.

If Chapter 5 is the end then the "overarching bad guy" role would be the Prototype wouldn't it? So then any new characters could be used for something else this time around.

Thing is, you could be right, 5 has such a drastically different set up to all the previous Chapters. We know off the bat 2 of the major threats we'll face. It looks like we could have numerous one off toys filling in for smaller sections, with Huggy and Proto only appearing in the finale.
However, there is also the possibility they do like they've always done, create a new toy who's apparently always been there, who holds us over until the actual confrontation with 1006.

Being fair, notglue has said their origins are different in M&M - even if we don't have many details. And I could totally picture Sawyer or one of the other researchers deciding that if a BB eats a certain type of food then they violently reject, simply to be dicks or to test their reactions.

If they're all in heaven you could argue their reality is whatever they think it is. and if all of them + Dogday think he's a Dog, than the logic of "chocolate kills dogs" becomes reality for him even if in the real world his organs wouldn't be like a dogs at all.

Anon mentioned the construction crew, and I wonder if that has any implications for Ch5, because that tape is kinda out of nowhere. It makes me think any levels after the Prison are incomplete because the construction team wasn't behind anymore projects.

I think it just exists to explain how all of this shit was built. Like why exactly can a toy company build a prison underground? Turns out a contract was signed between it and a construction company where the latter would build whatever the former wants.
They even established that this was signed because of Ludwig and how the foreman legitimately believed the man had the wellbeing of kids in his heart. So they gave him (and his company) a very generous contract probably thinking that they'll be building more play places or an amusement park or a better hospital or some shit.

The threats of suing from Playtime really do not mean shit if Warrenback know for a fact Playtime is doing illegal shit and goes to the government about it. A company being taken down by the feds and in mid raids by the FBI for child endangerment and experimentation is not really in much of a position to sue anyone.
