By the way, if anyone knows of other Doey-centric fics please recommend them, I wanna read more stuff in the meantime.
But please don't suggest the Doey x reader porn fic again, I don't care how well-written it is when I'm just not interested in smut. I wanna read cute heartwarming stuff instead, even if it's a bit amateurish. Plus I ran into the smut author's tumblr account and apparently they drew a canon design for the reader that was an ugly bimbo with dick-sucking lips, so as far as I'm concerned it's an x OC disguised as x reader. What's the point of making it x reader if you don't even let the reader actually insert themselves?

It varies based on the version, is the thing. Dogday is the leader so he'd traditionally be the Dom, but a lot of people like putting Catnap in that role due to the events of Chapter 3 (no wonder) and most BB Dogdays are gonna be more subby due to that. And even with the versions that aren't, Catnap is typically some kind of powerbottom or vers. You can't really get a consensus because both the cartoon and the BB versions act differently and even when merged, their experiences will color how they behave.

There are obvious exceptions though. M&M Dogday is the angriest dom to have ever dommed and his Catnap is a bratty sub through and through and Inubis's Dogday seems to have no issues keeping his Catnap in line when necessary.

Most x reader fics are basically OC/author self inserts to begin with, but most use it as a thinly veiled excuse to go for the they/them dick and pussy points. I guess there's the hope that someone gets their vision to read it to the end, but I still think most x reader fics are better off just being original characters or whatever edition of the Player rather than beating around the bush sometimes literally.

Realistically every silent protag in every game is pretty much always supposed to be a self insert to some extent, it only follows logically that fanfics writers would self insert themselves into that role.

The fact that the player character doesn't talk makes me doubt that. If there's one quality Rich has, it's his willingness to speak his mind. It just doesn't make sense that he'd go to the factory and not audibly react to anything.
Personally I think the best candidate, assuming there even is one, is the guy who wrote the notes in the Orientation Notebook. He's a biologist who knew about the experiments but seems to have been the type of guy to keep his head down and stay in the background, which may explain why Sawyer didn't recognize him. But realistically I think the player is most likely not anyone named but as another anon pointed out, someone the player is supposed to self insert as.

Problem is that Mommy Longlegs recognized him as an employee. So if the player character was an employee, it would have to have been someone who was in Playcare when Ludwig was still alive, grew up, got a job in Playtime Co, and moved up the ranks enough to see the bigger bodies.
Granted, even that's only so far since the origins of them are kept secret to most employees who know about them.

I saw someone theorize that Ollie's instructions were sabotaging the generator and that's what made Safe Haven blow up.
