Even Fates had a setup for cool fights with the player making a choice. Stories exist to enhance the fun, add context to cool battles and whatnot. Not because some wannabe movie director decides you should watch his shit or because it’s expected there be a story so they throw one in randomly. 3H was designed in a way where the whole game was about a monastery and the drama there. Fates was about two poorly written kingdoms that look badass, going to war and the player deciding which way to go. Engage was about I don’t even fucking know. It’s a decent chess game with way too many maps for what it is. Then it has a hollow shitty story and minigames thrown in. The hub just exists as a literal game world floating in empty space. Yes it doesn’t help that it was a bad plot too but at the end of the day I don’t even know why it ended up with the title Fire Emblem. It feels more like an experimental title in terms of gameplay with some vtuber shit literally thrown in for the aesthetic.

Unironically Alear would be the ideal way to condense a lot of FE references into one character. If they were more popular they would be 100% a lock for the next Smash Bros game. The only reason I doubt they might get added is that they're unpopular.

Yeah I'm leaning towards it happening but I have doubt in my mind. I'm about 60/40 it will happen vs it won't.
I also think yet another FE rep and it being somebody who is viewed as a joke would be like throwing a grenade into the Smash fanbase. Corrin but 100x worse.

Add Kiran to Smash and make him the "Pokemon Trainer but with FE characters" that Smashfags tried to push for Byleth. Honestly, Kiran fits that role better than Byleth. The most generic route would be to do the Askr Trio because Sword, Lance, and Axe.
