I was trying to throw him during his wakeup, but it's a bit difficult to time properly online. So people will often use lights as they get up to stop throw attempts.
I suppose I could have used the command throw super there, but he likely would have noticed it in time during the super flash and jumped, then punished. To make matters worse, safejumping doesn't really exist in Nitroplus as a universal thing you can do from knockdowns, so I can't just easily jump in and do j.C, then guard if the opponent uses a reversal move. So just dashing up into throw is a bit of a gamble even for the attacker. In the corner, I can go for f.B trade on throw break, but that is a big risk. Now that I think about it, I should have just used 214AB there.
However, I will say that I'm pretty out of practice, so I'm just "playing by ear" on many things. But I probably should practice some basic things for the big cash tournament next month.
