I know and I really want to sell some of it in case stalker 2 gets cancelled again. If it doesn't get cancelled and ends up a good to semi-decent game (unlikely imho) I will still sell some of my merch.

NTA, but it isnt nearly as hard at all to get a good working gun. There arent 1 billion different items that you need or can use in your inv. There is still a small amount of inv bloat but there is a LOT less. No 100 diff repair items and kits. The money payouts for missions actually gives you a bunch of money to get stuff. There still is thirst and hunger, but it sorts itself out easily with money and drops from stalgers.

Biggest issues Ive seen are hardcore ai aimbot at all times, excessive mutant spawns, and color palette. There is a patch to reduce mutant spawns.

And that's my problem. I can't turn in the documents since everyone in the bar area is hostile to me now, and I can't finish the game. Is there a workaround, or am I just fucked?

I think you need to disable a couple mods first for the traders to have them, IIRC it was something like "GAMMA economy", then change some of the settings in one of the loot drop addons (if I remembered which one I'd tell you but I have no clue) so utility items drop more frequently.

Not every trader takes them, but you can definitely sell them to general traders like sid (don't sell them to him because he WILL fuck you on the price).
The one thing to note is that if the artifact is too low in quality, no one will buy it, so you need to horde artifacts and use an artifact melter, which should be buyable if you get good enough rep with the ecologists, and combine artifacts of the same type to improve the quality.
I believe ecologists give you the best deal so it's worth farming trader levels with them.
