You don't have to wait for much longer and a female knight arrives to pick you up. She introduces herself as Karin and guides you through the keep to the area of similar look and presumably purpose as were your lodgings in Alicia's keep - guest chambers for lower class visitors or retainers, which served you fine. Your group made itself comfortable, dined the simple foodstuffs that were delivered at some point later in the evening, and eventually retired to close this fairly lengthy day.
That night you dream once more of looking through the village. You're not sure what you look for, or if you found it. But at one point you find yourself, kneeling, in ruins of your home, amidst scorched remains of familiar furniture. It's a dreary sight, but at least you know none you care for is suffering anymore. You are roused by a beam of light caressing you gently, piercing through the clouds above.
When you open your eyes, you see that there is indeed a beam of light entering through a small window below the ceiling, dawn's first light dimly illuminating the hall. Around you, your companions are getting up and after devouring a basket of snacks someone left outside the doors your group disperses to pursue the tasks you've assigned. The four of you headed for the library successfully navigate the citadel with help of a few servants that almost don't jump when addressed by an ogre and before long you enter the spacious hall with rows upon rows of bookshelves, with several tables down the middle and among the shelves, lit by large windows and currently extinguished chandeliers.
"Oh, good morning!" Lord Levantine says when he sees you. "I've only just arrived myself." He says as he stands up from his seat at one of the tables, a book open before him and two more stacked on the side. "Nature of the monster" reads one of them, "Treatyse de morals et sanguis" reads the other. You can't see title of the open book but a glimpse at the open ages gives you impression it's some sort of chronicle or a history book. "As you can see, I've gotten started with the general idea. But I suppose it would be helpful if you have some more specific idea of what you are looking for, specifically. And, oh, I suppose since we're going to work together, we might as well dispense with the silly formalism? I'm Klaus." He offers you his hand which you take, careful not to crush him.
"I am grateful for your offer, lord-" You begin but Klaus raises his finger with a smile. "Klaus." You correct yourself. "These are my comrades: Phineous, Smutkin and Minerva" You introduce your companions.
"Amazing. A real temple guardian. How did you get her to join you? No, no, sorry, this is probably not the time for digressions. A pleasure, all. So. Let's get started. You can find index over there," He points to a cabinet in the corner "But if you have any idea you wish to pursue, I may be able to point you in the right direction. So, do you have anything, Mouse?"
