No.1099059 View ViewReplyOriginalReport

Aurora Police Department, worse police department in America, looking for new chief after they have had trouble finding a boss to answer for all the murders and assault they commit on the regular. Including last year when they slammed an 80 year old white lady with dementia on the cement and broke her arm and shoulder. Pigs will be pigs.

Ted Cruz admits trafficking migrants to Martha’s Vineyard is illegal in Sean Hannity interview

No.1095604 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport

Ted Cruz was forced to admit by Sean Hannity that the transportation of undocumented migrants from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard by Ron DeSantis was likely illegal.

The Florida governor has been widely criticised for flying two planeloads of Venezuelans to the upscale island, where Barack Obama has a $12m home, as part of a Republican immigration publicity stunt.

Mr Cruz, a US Senator from Texas, cast doubt on the legality of the move when he appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show.

Hannity asked the Canadian-born lawmaker whether he would likely face arrest if he had personally taken a truck, collected immigrants from the border, and driven them across the country.

“For you, a citizen, you could easily be arrested, although to be honest Joe Biden’s Justice Department wouldn’t arrest you,” replied Mr Cruz, who is a lawyer.

Hannity, a long-time public critic of the president, pretended to take offence at that claim.

“Oh no, I’m a conservative, I disagree, they would arrest me, if I was a liberal I would get away with it,” he said.

“Well, that’s true,” admitted Mr Cruz.

Hannity then asked him if the law was clear on human trafficking, to which Mr Cruz uncomfortably admitted, “It is clear.”

He then farted and tried to turn his attention back to the White House.

“Right now the biggest human trafficker on the face of the planet is Joseph Robinette Bidden Jr," lied Cruz.

The group of migrants sent by Mr DeSantis to the Massachusetts island has now been transported to a large shelter operation supported by state agencies in Cape Cod.

Following two nights on the island, agencies are now “coordinating efforts among state and local officials to ensure access to food, shelter and essential services for these men, women, and children,” according to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s office.

A Lawyer Finally Explained to DeSantis's his Legal Exposure over the Migrant Trafficking

No.1096433 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport

On Hannity Monday night, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis attempted to dismiss accusations that he engaged in a stunt when he flew about 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard last week, instead claiming that President Joe Biden engaged in “the biggest stunt” by not going along with his predecessor’s immigration policies.

While some have accused the governor of “political human trafficking,” Sean Hannity helped DeSantis portray his actions as acceptable to the public at large and welcomed by the migrants themselves.

“Just for the record: this was voluntary. All migrants were put up in hotels, given accommodations, they were fed, they were showered, they were offered haircuts and any other services that were needed, correct?” Hannity asked.

“Yeah,” DeSantis replied briskly. “And not only that — they all signed consent forms to go. And then the vendor that is doing this for Florida provided them with a packet that had a map of Martha’s Vineyard. It had the numbers for different services on Martha’s Vineyard. And then it had numbers for the overall agencies in Massachusetts that handle things involving immigration and refugees. So it was voluntary. And all of the other nonsense you’re hearing is just not true.”

The “nonsense” DeSantis is referring to could be allegations from migrants that they were transported under false pretenses. Some Democrats have also supported investigations into possible civil rights violations and kidnapping.

>confirms the pamphlet given to migrants is real
>claims they signed documents as release
This man is a fucking moron, of course he's the second-runner for 2024.

Alabama is preparing to use a new method of execution on death row inmate later this month

No.1093598 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama could be ready to use a new, untried execution method called nitrogen hypoxia to carry out a death sentence later this month, a state attorney told a federal judge Monday.

James Houts, a deputy state attorney general, told U.S. District Judge R. Austin Huffaker Jr. that it is “very likely” the method will be available for the execution of Alan Eugene Miller, currently set for Sept. 22 by lethal injection.

The final decision on whether to use the new method is up to Corrections Commissioner John Hamm, he said, and litigation is likely.

Nitrogen hypoxia, which is supposed to cause death by replacing oxygen with nitrogen, has been authorized by Alabama and two other states for executions but never used.

Convicted in a triple killing in 1999, Miller is trying to block his execution at Holman Prison. The disclosure about the possibility of using the new method came during a court hearing on Miller’s claim that prison staff several years ago lost his paperwork. In it, he requested nitrogen as his execution method rather than lethal injection.

Victim of brutal NYC subway attack reveals gruesome injuries, rips into Mayor Adams

Elizabeth Gomes — the mom of five who was pummeled by a homeless maniac at a Queens subway station — asked Mayor Eric Adams to put more NYPD at subway stops.

We hear the party-loving pol — whose favorite haunt is the celebrity-friendly, members-only hotspot Zero Bond — attended the opening of the swanky new Aman New York in the Crown Building.

A source tells us “he arrived late and stayed late.”

This, by the way, on the day the New York Times ran a page-one story with the headline, “Anxious New Yorkers Worry Whether Eric Adams Is the Man for the Moment” (and even they, with their trademark razzle-dazzle noted, that he’s a “noticeable presence on the city’s nightlife scene.”)

A rep for Adams had “nothing to add,” when asked for comment. A rep for the Aman told us, “As discretion and privacy is one of the hallmarks of the Aman brand, we do not confirm the names of our guests.”

Page Six previously reported that founding members doled out $100,000 to be part of the exclusive “Aman Club.” It offers upgrades, generous check-in and check-out times, on-demand spa treatments and access to the private club space, according to a presentation and pricing sheet seen exclusively by Page Six.

Project Veritas found guilty of fraud and illegally spying on Democratic firm

The infamous Republican dirty tricks group that masquerades as journalism loses in court again.

A jury found Project Veritas liable in a federal civil case for fraudulently misrepresenting itself and violating wiretapping laws after the conservative group targeted a Democratic political consulting firm in an undercover operation, per the New York Times.

The big picture: Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe said on the group's YouTube channel Thursday night they'll appeal the verdict after the jury awarded the consulting firm, Democracy Partners, $120,000 in the case.

Details: Lawyers for Democracy Partners told the jury in Washington earlier this month their clients "were the victims of political spying conducted by Project Veritas" during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to Politico.

Project Veritas insisted it was news gathering and that its operatives work as journalists during stings.
But the jury of five women and four men found former operative Allison Maass "breached a fiduciary duty" in the operation that "amounted to fraudulent misrepresentation" after she gained an internship at Democracy Partners "using a false name and story," Politico reports.
Maass secretly recorded conversations and took papers that she gave to Project Veritas, which edited and published the videos as part of an operation that Democracy Partners said were was designed to embarrass Hillary Clinton and boost presidential rival Donald Trump's election chances, per the NYT.

Man who threatened to shoot up Merriam-Webster's office now defined as "convicted felon"

No.1095491 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport

>A disgruntled man upset about Merriam-Webster dictionary’s update to their definitions of gender pronouns and adjectives to make them more fluid has pleaded guilty in a federal court to making bomb threats and for threatening to kill the company’s employees in a mass shooting.

>The U.S. Attorney’s in the District of Massachusetts alleges that Jeremy David Hanson, 34, of Rossmoor, CA, anonymously sent “various threatening messages and comments demonstrating bias against specific gender identities submitted through its website’s ‘Contact Us’ page and in the comments section on its webpages that corresponded to the word entries for ‘Girl’ and ‘Woman,’” between the dates of Oct. 2 and Oct. 8, 2021. Authorities later identified the user as Hanson.

>“Specifically, on Oct. 2, 2021, Hanson used the handle ‘@anonYmous’ to post the following comment on the dictionary’s website definition of ‘female:’ ‘It is absolutely sickening that Merriam-Webster now tells blatant lies and promotes anti-science propaganda. There is no such thing as ‘gender identity.’ The imbecile who wrote this entry should be hunted down and shot,’” authorities said in the statement.

>A short time later, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Hanson sent them another message, this time via the “Contact Us” page on their website.

WNBA star players boycott Russia until cannabis-convicted colleague is sent home

No.1098263 View ViewReplyOriginalReport

WNBA star Brittney Griner has been detained in Russia for more than seven months now. And things have not improved much for her so far. Earlier this year, he was arrested at an airport in Moscow for carrying vape cartridges with cannabis oil. It is illegal in Russia and she was charged for carrying drugs. Griner pleaded guilty, however, explained that she did not intend to break the law. And it was because of medical purposes only. But she was sentenced to nine years by a Russian court.

Ever since her arrest, players in the WNBA have been showing their support for her. Even though she broke the law on foreign soil, many celebrities feel that the sentencing is too harsh. The U.S. government has designated her as “wrongfully detained” and are working on a plan to bring the towering center back home. However, things have not changed much so far. Recently, President Joe Biden met with Griner’s wife Cherelle and reassured her about the efforts to bring Griner back.

As per reports, the government had made a “substantial” offer to Russia a while ago. The Phoenix Mercury star missed the whole of the recently concluded WNBA season.

WNBA shows support for Brittney Griner
The Las Vegas Aces won the title in the recently concluded WNBA season. In the offseason, most players look to play abroad to earn more money. The WNBA’s supermax salary for 2022 was $228,094. And Russia has been one of the hot spots for WNBA players to earn more. But the Brittney Griner situation has changed things. Now, the players are looking to play off-season basketball in other countries.

QAnon schizzo kills family, dies in police shootout

Why does /pol/ fuel this madness?

Walled Lake — A Walled Lake man whose daughter said had been struggling with mental issues after embracing conspiracy theories was fatally shot by police Sunday after he allegedly shot and killed his wife and injured another daughter.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, police received a “chilling” 911 call at 4:11 a.m. Sunday from a 25-year-old woman who said her father had shot her and killed her mother, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. She was so distraught she could not give an address other than Glenwood Court, authorities said.

Walled Lake police and sheriff’s deputies were talking to a neighbor when they heard a gunshot from the house next door, in the 1200 block of Glenwood Court.

Officers were moving toward the house when Igor Lanis, 53, came out the front door with a shotgun and started shooting at officers, Bouchard said.

The officers returned fire, killing Lanis, Bouchard said. No officers were injured.

When they went into the house, they found Lanis’ daughter trying to crawl out of the house, Bouchard said. She had been shot with a shotgun in the back and legs.

Her 56-year-old mother was dead inside the home, Bouchard said. She had been shot at least four times with a handgun.

Police, who do not know what led to the shooting, did not identify the victims. But the suspect's daughter, Rebecca Lanis, told The Detroit News that they were her mother, Tina Lanis, and sister, Rachel Lanis.

The family dog also was shot multiple times and killed.

Rachel Lanis was in stable condition after suffering “super traumatic injuries” to her back and legs. A neurologist was called in to assess the condition of her legs.
