i built a really low end computer for various testing stuff lately that has one of those dumb tempered glass panels (it was only $20 after rebate though) and it's pretty quiet even though it's not designed to be
that is, when the mechanical hard drive i put in it isn't running, so it's pretty much always as loud as that unless i'm running stuff from usb only
