actually no how about now
dungeon 1 bad (with bad boss), dungeon 2 okay (i already forgot this boss even though they made me redo it), dungeon 3 actually great (and silly boss), dungeon duck so-so (but good boss), dungeon korok so-so (but great boss), final dungeon okay
controls are the biggest, most glaring problem with the game, the menu is ridiculously clunky and needing to occupy an item slot with the sail was just 50 steps of tedium
sailing was okay, the cannon was annoying to use, basically everything about the sailing and navigation and boat accessories and just everything boat (except dungeon 3) was done better in phantom hourglass
i don't think any enemies outside of the bosses felt "fun" to fight, while their animations were nice they had too many invincibility states after hitting them which made combat just a chore
the encounter design was mostly just annoying to bad too, really didn't care for the multiple instances of rooms where you fight 5 of one type of enemy, and then 5 of the next type of enemy in the next room
leaf was good except the magic usage of it was ugh, i only had the half magic meter through my playthrough so the korok sage dungeon was extremely annoying
boomerang mvp item, made everything so trivial i'd have to steal enemy weapons when they'd drop in order to make things more fun, or throw pots at the enemies, but i wasn't going to stop using boomerang
hookshot boring
grapple hook bad, swinging ropes in general were really bad additions to the game, don't bring them back ever, this isn't dk64
music was hit or miss, there were a couple okay themes but like the "standing near an enemy" music was super short and annoying, just way too many tracks that repeated in so few beats
townspeople were a++, designs and animations and dialog were all great
towns themselves, well there were only like twoish, right? threeish? pretty boring
story a+++, i didn't actually know what was going to happen at the end and i'm glad that i didn't know that because it made the twist/surprise really good
