That was a good time.
Visually most of the zones look like Chalice Dungeons at best, with some pretty grimy textures and very constrained paths, and you can definitely count all the enemy types with your fingers and toes, and the actual equivalents of chalice dungeons always have a similar three to four linear paths to one mid-boss each structurem, and zero new enemy types.
But who could actually manage to care about the limitations in scope and scale when the combat is buttery smooth and comes with more special moves and abilities than you could ever need to keep things fresh, and the vibes of considerable magnitude are pure triple distilled mid-naughties action anime ham.
Though the character customization will only be perfect when they add options for gnarlier scars, (Maybe you could make some magic with the seemingly very extensive face paint options. I didn't really try anything before being out of ideas.) it's pretty close as it is. (All but total lack of body type customization aside. But also betcha that would have broken the bank. But also also not like clipping and other weirdness is a problem they seem to mind anyway.) And that was before the free Halloween DLC. Strong move for gaining Game of the Year clout.
Always fight for what's right and believe in your nakama. That's the vampire code.
