in version 2 you needed to fight de rol le with mome and he had a real problem being kept alive, especially if you were playing a robutt since you can't heal him without using the really expensive party heal item
he's also really low level for what is being asked of the quest
in ep1/2 they just make him lay down and pretend to be dead on the raft so he doesn't die anymore
it was a really good quality of life improvement
