I remember a little of Windows 95 and I rather clearly remember Windows 98 (SE), so its startup tune is one of the ones that resonate with me more.
Windows 2000 Pro was released before ME, and was by far and large the better one kthx. Was basically the OS I used and knew the most. It is rock solid, easy to navigate and use, light on resources (unlike that fucky reskin people refer to as XP), and just...well pleasant to use really. I sort of miss it in a weird way, considering I used it up until about 5 years ago.
The release of Windows ME and Windows 2000 was a weird era. Like some kind of strange dichotomy within Microsoft. In the same year, both arguably the best and arguably the worst Windows versions were released.
The only reason I've used or considered Windows OS emulation is if there's a 16-bit program I need to use for some reason or other, which is a very rare occurrence as you might expect.
