There seems to be a generally accepted way of not caring much about the rapid tech growth, and I believe because the way we were exposed to the internet was incredibly irresponsible and created mass desensitization in just about everyone who uses it more than they need to.
So what I'm saying is, A.I. "ethics" is a huge thing now, there are committees of experts being created to deal with this and they're doing their best to prevent an unforeseen catastrophe, and without an ethics subsystem a I think a conscious A.I. will absolutely annihilate humans.
