>>375391I think it's agreeable that capital isn't the selling point of democratic capitalism but other freedoms are.
It only entertains the notion of "free speech" but the reality of having no governing body over the kind of information you're exposed to can be catastrophic and lead to things like interest groups straight up manipulating and corrupting objective information and easily creating bias that they can leverage. I would even go so far as to say that a large YouTube influencer has more power over commonfolk than a legitimate politician. This doesn't even begin to cover the majority of people who have no political alignment (like myself), and were literally exploited in the Trump race for the white house.
But in comparison I'd have to agree that I prefer Democracy and would not want to live in a socialist state.
>>375394I'm pretty sure North Korea wouldn't have gotten to nuclear weapons if it rejected it's potential nuclear scientist, and they certainly didn't buy the nukes from anyone. I wouldn't be as extreme, these are all schemes in the end made to control people.
Think of it likes this. They're bound to go extinct the moment we have some sustain space colonization going on, with only hints of communism or democracy being applied to space colonization era politics.
