I literally described how to abuse the bosses.
>Ape guardian where you can literally stagger him to death with simple R1 every 3 attacks and then alternating between 2 and 3 whenever he starts his animation to stagger him again, INFINITELY. Same with genichiro, he is probably easiest out of all to stunlock. Because he has only 3 attacks to break out of your R1 stunlock - his jump, kanji attacks and his 3rd hit from his 3-hit combo.
Owl works relatively same as Genichiro, except he breaks out of your stunlock with more attacks. His jump, anti-flask, kanji, poison/shuriken jump and deflect.
Isshin is really hard because of his phase 2 where shit is not very predictable and you cant R1 spam him, but phase 1 is not very hard to deflect his few attacks and R1 spam him. in Phase 3 you literally just wait for lightning reversals to kill him.
All these I literally did on my playthrough. It takes very little time to figure out this shit. it take some practice to execute them but a lot less practice than what you had to do to learn shit in dark souls.
