Friends™ is definitely so far consistent in a way you might not expect.
Nothing too too throwaway in there.

Not a lot of spinning its wheels. Feels like every episode has had some specific place to go. Not a lot of repeating itself apart from on stage so far.
Good pacing of introductions with enough time for all the existing characters to have some quality time in the spotlight.
Strong fundamentals. An unusually balanced deyet of eyecuts.
Not a whole lot of the real wacky cutting stuff so far. But doesn't necessarily feel like it's even needed it.
