Besides that, I guess kissing Asuka at the anniversary of his mother's death, denying Gendo in the doorway, talking trash about Gendo, letting himself be beaten up by Toji, not even trying to save Toji in the Eva Unit 04 fight (in the manga Kaiji touches that subject), when showing better synchronicity with Rei in the music montage still trying to synchronize with Asuka, not staying in EVA Unit 01 in EoE with Yui, when in Lilith never just asking Rei and Kaworu "Why?". He had access to every human conciousness and memory and he didn't even try to understand the plot of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Not the stupid surface level message about society, but the "Plot" of it all. And it all leads back to Yui. Poor Shinji was Yui's guinne pig as much as he was Gendo's. In the scene where he comes back from Instrumentality he said he doesn't understand Yui's motivations which shows him not bothering to understand. Which gives root to more awful descisions!
I liked the Asuka choking scene.
